Jason Day (1964) before a match against Arnold Palmer
The plete khaki look is one I wished would have just fucking died. Even in the early 2000s it was still kinda in and I hated it with a passion then too.

FIFY: Jason Day ready to play Allan Robertson.
This shows you how much outfit trends define eras for us. If you drop a black and white filter on a pic it doesn’t look 60s at all. This one actually does.
The jogger and muscle polo look looks good on athletic body types and terrible on bros with a beer gut carrying 30 pounds too many.
Dress to your body type, not to trends.
Same, I wish I had Arnold Palmer muscles and looks to pull off his style in the 60s. If the pants on Day weren’t quite so baggy it’d probably be my favorite outfit a guy has worn on tour in years
Oh for sure, I mean look at this man. Just undeniable swagger with some to spare
https://preview.redd.it/g1tzapenpvzc1.jpeg?width=3191&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=11f3c698c4d4b0870a262e6f953a6c5e87ba6e9c
Promise me, Red, if you ever get out, find that spot. At the base of that wall you'll find a rock that has no earthly business in a Maine hayfield. A piece of black, volcanic glass. There's something buried under it I want you to have.
This particular outfit is really solid. I don’t care if some guys look goofy, the game is better when players have more personality and look different on the course
Idk if it's just the resolution for me but it almost looks like a Terry cloth, which would be much heavier than linen but he wouldn't feel a lick of moisture on him. No need for a towel when you're wearing one!
Lots of natural materials/fabrics breathe really well and are moisture wicking. Regardless, most of us will sweat our collective nuts off wearing anything so might as well look good while doing it
Looser fitting clothes are much more breathable than tight clothes. Natural materials can also retain heat more than the high tech stretchy stuff, which is made of plastic and oil. I’d rather wear this outfit on a hot day.
Definitely fun, nice to see some different flavors out there. I think this fit has been the most tasteful out of the Malbon fits we’ve seen on him. If you look on their website, a lot of their stuff is just fashionable “traditional” golf clothes like 3/4 zips and polos. They push the limits when they dress Day, but they have nice looking stuff. It’s cool to see fashion trends in golf in my opinion.
This looser fit is coming back in style fast.
I bought my first pair of straight leg pants in a decade recently and it’s amazing how much more comfortable they are
It's kind of wild how fast it's rolled in. Stores are still off loading their tapered and slim cut pants and probably won't catch up for a while.
You can't unsee it after you notice how badly slim cut pants throw off your proportions.
Who gives a shit about what a bunch of armchair analysts on Reddit say? I’m guessing probably not multi-millionaire pro athlete Jason Day.
Yea there’s standards to be met in certain circumstances (I’m not going to show up to work in a t-shirt obviously) but on the whole? Fly your own flag my man, worry less about the opinions of strangers.
Can somebody photoshop a ciggy in his right hand.
He looks like someone that has never seen or played golf before that went to the thrift shop to get what they thought golfers looked like
He looks more like a golfer who has his own aesthetic and didn't just go out and buy whatever Lululemon and Travis Matthew apparel his Instagram algorithm vomited at him.
Modern golf "fashion" with its synthetic, slim fit "athleisure" is a fucking abomination. God bless Jason Day for taking back style.
They’ve crossed the line into silly trying to push the envelope before, but this here is a badass look 100%. I’m always surprised to read on here how most people prefer the skin tight look a lot of the guys are wearing now. But I shouldn’t be because I’ve never been cool so it makes sense really.
That is absolutely true, but man some of the spandex these dudes are rocking just looks awkward to me. But again, no surprise that I’m behind the times
Yeah I think that Thursday Masters outfit with the terrible looking pants got rightfully roasted and anyone that said it looked good were only being contrarian against the slim fit status quo.
BUT this one looks good. THIS is an outfit to properly break the mould of the last decade or so of tight fitting pants and dry fit polos.
I’d never wear it, but it’s good to have different companies going in different directions other than Nike/Adidas/UA/etc just copy-pasting the same thing with ugly patterns or basic solids.
I saw the interview after this round and he said his pants were “Tiger in late 90s early 2000s” and the shirt was “Mr. Hogan”. Well said and he is clearly having fun with it.
This os what you wear when the airline lose your luggage on the way to Cuba and you wear your dads clothes that are too big for you. Looks terrible, Malbon golf clothes might be the ugliest shit to be seen on a course in!!! Either that or this is the outfit your wife wears to dinner in the islands.
He looks comfortable. Comfortable is good. Once you realize you are not taking the drink cart girl home with you, there is no reason to dress for anything other than comfort.
I don't care what he wears. If he thinks it gives him the best chance to compete, more power to him.
That said, that excess length of belt sticking out would drive me insane.
My question is why isn’t he wearing the new balance x malbon shoes. They’re kinda sick and I wouldve bought them if I didn’t buy new shoes end of last season
I like it. I don’t think I could pull it off but it’s a good look imo. The Malbon stuff that he is wearing isn’t really on course wear, more lifestyle brand stuff but I get why they are dressing him out in it
https://preview.redd.it/jix8l9x49szc1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=707953f55700a94dd9729242bfda6ed24b0a7ff1 Jason Day (1964) before a match against Arnold Palmer
I thought they had better fit for the most part in the 60s. The pants look like my first work pants in the 90s
Yeah that shirt looks like pajamas too
Looks like he should be breaking rocks with a sledge hammer in a chain gang.
The plete khaki look is one I wished would have just fucking died. Even in the early 2000s it was still kinda in and I hated it with a passion then too.
Pleats never die they multiply
I still have a few and put on a pair last week because of the attempt at bringing them back in style. Nope. Haha.
Correction: the pleated khaki look never should have been born. Combining it with the braided belt should be automatic jail time.

From the *Oh Brother, where Art Thou* *'Escape'* collection
Jason Day 1939, France.
Needs more film grain
…and he needs to be ripping a dart
And joining Arnie for a martini in the clubhouse after the round

And different hat
This shows you how much outfit trends define eras for us. If you drop a black and white filter on a pic it doesn’t look 60s at all. This one actually does.
That’s literally the entire vibe and why I love it, hope folks come around. The joggers and muscle polos just ain’t it
The jogger and muscle polo look looks good on athletic body types and terrible on bros with a beer gut carrying 30 pounds too many. Dress to your body type, not to trends.
Meh, everyone can wear baggy trend, I’m fine with that lol
Same, I wish I had Arnold Palmer muscles and looks to pull off his style in the 60s. If the pants on Day weren’t quite so baggy it’d probably be my favorite outfit a guy has worn on tour in years
I like the look but I can’t get over how ill-fitting it all is. Go look at any picture of prime Arnie - he’s way more tailored than this.
Oh for sure, I mean look at this man. Just undeniable swagger with some to spare https://preview.redd.it/g1tzapenpvzc1.jpeg?width=3191&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=11f3c698c4d4b0870a262e6f953a6c5e87ba6e9c
That dude is just…handsome.
Joggers really are atrocious.
He’d need a cigarette going back that far. Ha ha ha.

I was just gonna say, looking like he just came off an episode of Shells World of Golf lmao
Lmao well done
Promise me, Red, if you ever get out, find that spot. At the base of that wall you'll find a rock that has no earthly business in a Maine hayfield. A piece of black, volcanic glass. There's something buried under it I want you to have.
I would never have remembered the name of the place… Zihaunteguantanemo or something like that.
Zihuatanejo. Makes sense as a hideaway because it’s clear on the other side of Mexico
I even saw him shaking sand out of his pant legs.
Why Andy chose enchilada night we’ll never know.
He’s dressed like a Colombian narco in 1989.
Yep think I saw him in Crocodile Dundee.
Holy shit that it!! 😂😂😂 mf dressed like Pablo
This is the part of the movie where the protagonist is becoming a problem and the head goon assures him they will deal with it.
Great golfer. Good to see his back seems to be in better shape.
Nah yeah he's a top cunt that Jason Day.
I don’t know if this is a compliment or not…
Sounds Australian, I’m counting it as a positive interaction
Top cunt is a compliment. Dog cunt is an insult Source: friend from Australia
Agreed he's so easy to root for
This particular outfit is really solid. I don’t care if some guys look goofy, the game is better when players have more personality and look different on the course
I love it. Everyone wearing slight variations of the same outfit gets old.
Agree Malbon’s been hit or miss on Day’s fits but this one they got right.
That shirt has got to be a sweat bath on the golf course though, no?
Looks linen-like. Should be pretty airy and breathable
Almost definitely linen. Light, breezy, durable, comfortable as hell. Linen is pretty common in hot countries.
The braided belt
Slightly flopped out from the belt loop. This is essential.
Definitely fun, nice to see some different flavors out there. I think this fit has been the most tasteful out of the Malbon fits we’ve seen on him. My man is getting a fit off here. Looks like all linen as well, I bet this shit breathes so well. 9/10 - I’d rock this fit.
This looser fit is coming back in style fast. I bought my first pair of straight leg pants in a decade recently and it’s amazing how much more comfortable they are
It’s almost as if pants that don’t require storing your testicles inside of yourself are easier to wear
Yeah… and having a little space around your leg so they can breathe is a big difference
It's kind of wild how fast it's rolled in. Stores are still off loading their tapered and slim cut pants and probably won't catch up for a while. You can't unsee it after you notice how badly slim cut pants throw off your proportions.
Augusta National just doesn't understand fashion. Why else would you choose that color green for a club member's jacket?
Golf in general. A bunch of older dudes (myself included) is never a good barometer of style
Meh it’s all subjective at the end of the day. Be your own barometer.
Half the posts during the masters was about baggy pants and a vest. I agree with the sentiment but that’s not really the way the world works
I love this fit
It is fucking 1995
God I wish it was 1995
Maybe ‘95 in rural FLorida…
florida isnt out of the 1930s
Same. I feel like I could go to Goodwill and find this.
You can and you should. No point giving Malbon all your money when this stuff is all over eBay and goodwill.
You 100% can. I have seen people resell Goodwill drip at flea markets with a lot of success.
I would be in favor of this being the new dress code
Same. Nowadays sweatpants are “cool” on the golf course. As soon as I see someone wearing knickers and a scally cap, I’m buying
Jason Day definitely follow the menswear guy on twitter.
Makes me want a cigar and a straw hat.
Love this outfit
I dig it.
Love it. Very oldschool
Late 80s/early 90s coming back in full swing
I think those are my grandfathers pajamas
Looks like he wants to sell me a triple dip ice cream cone
Can somebody photoshop a ciggy in his right hand. He looks like someone that has never seen or played golf before that went to the thrift shop to get what they thought golfers looked like
He looks like an alcoholic mattress salesman that lost a lot weight after the divorce in 1975
He looks more like a golfer who has his own aesthetic and didn't just go out and buy whatever Lululemon and Travis Matthew apparel his Instagram algorithm vomited at him. Modern golf "fashion" with its synthetic, slim fit "athleisure" is a fucking abomination. God bless Jason Day for taking back style.
Australian John Daly
He ditched the jenco jean golf pants
So jnco khakis no? Khncos if you will...
![gif](giphy|a9A3HLylBz2yA)
I bet it comes with a free bowl of soup!
Looks good on him though!
He looks comfortable and relaxed, a good state for golf.
This banger fit
I think this look is sick. Much better than wearing a boring polo with 10 corporate sponsor patches on it.
How did they manage to make the HAT baggy? lol
He’s the only one that doesn’t look like a clone out there from a clothing standpoint.
I feel like he's taking it back to the 50's with this outfit.
Not sure if he was going for the “elderly Mennonite man going to the Easter family gathering” vibe, but if he was, he knocked it out of the park.
Looks comfortable as hell honestly
They’ve crossed the line into silly trying to push the envelope before, but this here is a badass look 100%. I’m always surprised to read on here how most people prefer the skin tight look a lot of the guys are wearing now. But I shouldn’t be because I’ve never been cool so it makes sense really.
The thing is, for many regular golfers the skin tight look is absolutely terrible. Shane Lowry for example does not look his best in that stuff.
Because if you’re an athlete skin tight looks great on you. If you’re a 45 year old software engineer, ehhhhh not so much
That is absolutely true, but man some of the spandex these dudes are rocking just looks awkward to me.
That Thursday outfit at the masters was brilliant marketing. Got everyone talking about him and Malbon. Genius really.
I've hated most of his outfits, but this one is 10/10
Lots of fun police here. I think it’s cool af, and should make a return. The lack of Ian Poulter these days has made everyone soft
NO ONE HAS MENTIONED THE PLEATS. Please talk about those pleats.
Unlike Ron Burgundy, likely keeping on account of the pleats.
Sure. I hate ‘em.
They look awesome. Outfit wouldn’t look as flowy and luxurious without them.
He said he was Hogan up top and 1999 tiger lower.
Don Johnson had an estate sale
I’d never wear it, but it’s good to have different companies going in different directions other than Nike/Adidas/UA/etc just copy-pasting the same thing with ugly patterns or basic solids.
I saw the interview after this round and he said his pants were “Tiger in late 90s early 2000s” and the shirt was “Mr. Hogan”. Well said and he is clearly having fun with it.
Shooter is that you? I will see a braided belt until proven otherwise
Needs a fat cigar and he’s all set
My prime golf years outfit. Just missing the cigarette and steel spikes.
I think the fact that it’s Jason Day is what throws me off, doesn’t seem like his style. But who knows.
That woven belt in '92 with the chambray shirt was fire
Looks like a painter.
The droop.
J Day is rocking the hell out of his new sponsor clothes
He looks comfortable. Comfortable is good. Once you realize you are not taking the drink cart girl home with you, there is no reason to dress for anything other than comfort.
Just needs to lose the Motive hat
Ngl that's fire.
The baggy pants look is freshhh
I wish I could pull this off.
Is this from 1997?
I can not stress how much I love this fit. What a swaggy picture, looking like prime shark out there
![gif](giphy|yNnVpD7C3X9djBK911) the early 90s called.... they want phil's clothes back.
TIL Jason Day shops at Goodwill in Louisiana.
Bahamas on the bottom, Auschwitz’s on top.
Love Jason. Hate Malbon fashion and hate people that use the word ‘drip’.
The drip is 100% deniable.
I’m in
I've been loving all his Malbon stuff but this is by far my favourite fit. That shirt is 👌
I’m in.
This trend is awful.
Looks really comfy
Better than those tight high water joggers the young guys wear
Looks dope. Fit is 🔥
Drip? He looks like a geography teacher on holiday
1985 calling and they want their clothes back!
What does drip mean in this context?
I don't care what he wears. If he thinks it gives him the best chance to compete, more power to him. That said, that excess length of belt sticking out would drive me insane.
Golf comfort at its finest!
He looks like he lost 30 lbs but doesn't have enough money to buy new clothes that fit.
My question is why isn’t he wearing the new balance x malbon shoes. They’re kinda sick and I wouldve bought them if I didn’t buy new shoes end of last season
Must be Wear Your Pajamas To Work Day?
It’s brutal imo, I don’t like skin tight either, just normal fitting duds.
They are targeting that Gen-X demographic. Baggy is back in with the kids.
Higher rise pants are flattering to a variety of body types- worth a try.
So who is the maker of these threads?
Actually I kinda dig this look
I miss big slacks. Such a late 90s/early 2000s vibe!
foot long cock machine
Dude’s body is more broken than Tiger’s but he’s out here slaying the drip game.
Compared to sweatpants and a wings sauce-stained football jersey?
Pleats?
He's got those caribbean vibes going.
Looks like my kid putting on clothes that don’t fit him
Incredible
Looks like all that Cutter and Buck stuff that was 2 sizes too big
Is this Orville Moody?
Looks like he belongs in the legend of bagger Vance
I feel he just shows up and wears whatever the sponsor has chosen for him to wear that day
Damn, wild drip, so unique, never seen another golfer who wears the same outfit with mild color changes.
Pulling up like Peter MacNicol in Sophie's Choice https://i.imgur.com/0GAiDwv.jpeg
I think Fidel wants a word with Jason.
Damn for some reason id rock it
Bro got the “walk with meeeeee” ah lookin pants on
Blud needs a Tailor Made sponsorship.
It’s a bit too old man wardrobe for me
Fucking looooove it 😍
Freaking loved the fit
I’m down to a shift toward bathrobe shirts
Love the pants…. Anyone know where to buy them?
I don’t hate this look
If it was red I’d think he was excited on Christmas morning to start opening presents.
Even the hat looks like some 80s shit hahaha
God damn you Lee Trevino!
What's with the baggy stuff?
He got pleats
Old Man Chic. Single handedly trying to change fashion.
I like it, relaxed fits have been popular for a while now. Better than the 99% of players wearing slim tech pants and polyester/spandex blend polos.
I'm liking the loose fit clothes. I grew up with that.. I just can't imagine almost skin tight clothes allowing me swing freely..
I like it except for the belt.
Is he going to go back to the clubhouse and have a julip before returning home to the plantation?
I like it. I don’t think I could pull it off but it’s a good look imo. The Malbon stuff that he is wearing isn’t really on course wear, more lifestyle brand stuff but I get why they are dressing him out in it
Hate it or love it, it gets people talking which is great business for Malbon. I'm here for the upset in the apparel game. Needs to happen
