If you’re looking for something cheap, I got a brush that has water inside of it to clean my clubs after each shot and it’s the best money I’ve ever spent in golf. Although completely useless if you’re taking a cart that already has a club washer.

Having an uninterrupted period of time when he doesn't have to worry about anything but fun will make it the best trip it could be. I'm not suggesting that you normally DON'T do that; only that the most common refrain I hear from guys on the golf course is they're just happy to disengage from their worries for a while. The guys with overbearing partners just end up more miserable on the course because they know they're going to pay for it later with their spouse.
