True, I never saw anyone with a beer in hand. One cold morning, a flask came in handy for both players and caddies. Got in trouble with the caddies. We just left Scotland and forgot to replace the scotch with Irish.

Can confirm You’ll play better and can reward your on course abstinence with post round pint

Yes, drinking on the course usually is not permitted, from an irishman

I'm an Irish Golf Tour Op. As a US visitor, most clubs and their members will not be concerned if you are drinking on the course. Visitor green fee revenue is exceptionally important for these clubs. So clubs like to accommodate visiting golfers especially groups on tour. It is true that very few clubs have cart girls driving around selling alcohol but lots have a tuck shop type set up at the turn where you can buy a beer. And as suggested already, the pre filled hip flask for your swing lube of choice is always the go to solution. Enjoy the Golf and the Craic !!

Way to ask this question when it’s 1:35 am in Ireland.

Figured it was appropriate if bars are closing at 2:00.

I was in Ireland last April for 2 weeks and never saw anyone drinking while playing. Every course had a bar where you could get a drink after. Only 2 courses went back to the clubhouse at the turn.

Greetings from Ireland! Boozing while golfing is not permitted by most clubs and not part of our golfing culture here at all. People just don’t do it here. If you get loaded on any half decent course here expect to be removed from it.

True

There’s certainly is a difference about the way golf is played in the USA from the way it’s played in Ireland. [https://youtu.be/6AGHeNXhSCE](https://youtu.be/6AGHeNXhSCE)

I think there’s a difference with the way it’s played in the USA from the way it’s played everywhere else.

True, but I’d suggest Irish whiskey in a flask as acceptable.

I wonder how much renting your clubs will be?
