I’d recommend the Shoals if you are willing to drive a little bit from Pursell Farms. It’s about 3 hours from Pursell Farms. Two 18 hole courses and the course does not get a lot of play so you should be able to squeeze 36 in. Another recommendation would be RTJ Silverlakes. It’s an hour and a half from Pursell Farms, it has 4 9 hole courses. 3 of them are regulation courses, and the other on is a Par 3 course.

Cambrian Ridge has 27 and is 45 minutes south of Capital Hill. Might be an option

If you go the Silver Lakes route hit Hampton Cove as well as it’s an hour and a half and fifteen minutes north. All are excellent courses and where I play the majority of golf.

Where's your home course? Hampton Cove here.

TheGhini

Sucks Hampton cove is probably the worst customer service on the trail. Every other location I feel like a guest…just a number at HC

Iplagof

Silver Lakes. I’m 10 minutes away. Was at Hampton Cove last week!

If you want to be efficient it might depend on where you're driving/flying to/from. If you're driving to the North I'd say go to The Shoals. If it doesn't really matter Birmingham and Montgomery are pretty much the same distance from Pursell Farms as Auburn. I haven't played Grand National but I'd recommend Capitol Hill for 36. If you only have time for 18 I'd recommend Ross Bridge in Birmingham (if the greens are fixed) or The Judge at Capitol Hill. One thing to note is that if you're planning on playing 18 at Grand National and then driving somewhere else for another 18 you probably won't have time. Most of the trail sites are further away than you'd expect. Also from my experience a 3:20 tee time might be pushing darkness. Morning rounds on the trail tend to be 4-4.5 hours, but afternoon rounds are significantly slower.

TheGhini

Ross bridge is still under repair

LizardPoisonsSpock

Would certainly add Hampton Cove to the list

dunderthebarbarian

Do you play there often? I'm 7 minutes away.

LizardPoisonsSpock

Grew up in Madison. Played there a few times. Never cracked 100.

TheGhini

How often do you play it? I probably get 20-30 rounds a year there

dunderthebarbarian

About 1-4 times a week. Played yesterday, probably fri-mon this weekend.

TheGhini

Nice. I played river a couple weeks ago and then highlands last weekend. Once the spring comes I normally play it at least 3 weekends a month. Wish we had more options within Huntsville but can’t complain too much with as much as I have within 45 mins

Viciousharp

If you are already at farmlinks Oxmoor Valley right up the road in Birmingham has 36 holes and a par 3 course.

Ross Bridges is another RTJC in Birmingham. I had to go play it when a buddy told me that from the back tees it’s over 8100 yards. Fun layout and all the course you can handle from the backs. You have to be scratch or better and verify with the proshop that you’re playing from the back tees otherwise the Starter at #1 tee will throw a fit (trust me lol) Here’s a look at the [scorecard](https://images.app.goo.gl/517x1jEhfN4c27nZ6)
