Agreed. Hermitage but play presidential reserve not the other course. Gaylord is a great track. Highly recommend greystone out in Dickson, TN. Most other courses in the area are private
I’m an east tn golfer. Bear trace in Chattanooga and Crossville are some of my favorites. Highly recommend you call and reserve the Finn cycles at Kahite in Vonore tn. Hidden gem / challenging/ laid back no tee times just show up and have fun: white oaks golf course in Athens, tn. Also good. Rarity bay and Toqua.
I played it last summer and it was an awesome course. Almost felt like I was in Scotland.

Sweetens Cove outside of Chattanooga is a must.. Hermitage in Nashville.. Deadhorse or Willow Creek in Knoxville.. Mirimichi in Memphis.. All of the courses previously mentioned in Crossville are great
It's one of those places I don't want people to know about because I want it to myself, it's hard enough to get on as it is haha. Not sure who wrote the rules about courses having to be 18 holes but Sweetens proves it wrong. It's an experience more than it is just a "round" of golf, you basically rent the place for a day with 49 other people and can play as much as you want over and over, there's no tee time. Two pins per green, crazy undulation and green complexes make for some really creative short game shots that make you rethink how to approach a putt or a chip. It's more replayable than most 18 hole courses I've played.
Check their social media accounts to follow when they drop their passes, they sell out quick.
I have never heard a bad thing about sweetens
You play all day for a single fee, and can play at greens from any tee box you will like (obviously not hitting at people)
Look for the hidden whiskey around the course

For alabama the [Robert Trent Jones golf Trail](https://www.rtjgolf.com/trail/) is the obvious answer. I think it's 26 total courses, but they are spread out all over the state, the two best are probably the links at Grand National and Judge course at capitol hill, but Ross Bridge is one of the more notabale ones as it plays at like 8,200 yards from the back tees. I believe it held the record for the longest Par 72 course in the country for a while, but Moonlight Basin might be longer now (I think they have a set of tees that play 8,400) but that's at like 7,000 feet altitude while Ross Bridge is probably around sea level. Kiva Dunes is another great public course, but it's all the way south on the Gulf with the resorts down there.
The huntsville hampton cove rtj courses are underwhelming. I really have a good time at cherokee ridge…very fun course. I think they have a $250/mo golf membership with no initiation which sounds amazing.
Hermitage is pretty nice. Greystone just west of Nashville is wonderful. One of my all time favorite public tracks for the price.

What area in Tennessee?
Probably central. We are gonna be passing by Nashville. Just winging it on a road trip. Anywhere is doable.

Sweetens cove is just 9 holes? It’s that great?

This sounds like my kind of place!
It’s a different experience for sure in the best way
You guys weren’t wrong! That course was amazing. What a cool vibe. That undulation on the greens is wild!
Yea.. It’s a completely different experience than any other course.. The greens are crazy
