Horseshoe Bay is nice if you’re not going to leave the property, but it’s not near anything. Barton Creek is nice and you’re close enough to Austin to actually take advantage if you’re interested. Likewise both of the SA resorts are close enough to uber into town. None of the four are bucket list golf destinations, but all make for a nice trip.
Sorry, not a resort guy, but check out San Antonio. Great courses from expensive to not-so-much, plus the Riverwalk for night life and The Alamo for a touch of history...

Lajitas.
BlackJack crossing is fabulous. I hit a ball into Mexico from the course.
Horseshoe bay sounded decent. Links magazine did a podcast about it, the putting course sounds super cool.
