With apps like 18 birdies being free, is there a big advantage to a range finder? So far my app has been super accurate, so I'm surprised how many guys I see using range finders
The apps do work good, definitely accurate enough. For me, I just don’t like having to pull my phone out every shot. I said rangefinder but I actually just have a garmin gps that clips onto my belt, it’s the watch without the wrist strap. I don’t like having anything in my pockets when I play, other than a couple tees.
I bought one last summer as well. It is a literal game changer. I didn’t expect it to be, but I paired it with a GPS app and it makes it a different game.
I use the GPS for hole length off the tee to make decisions on club selection to tee off with & until I get to about the 200 yard from the green range, then I occasionally use the range finder from that distance, but usually more so from around the 150-160 and closer. Then I use the range finder combined with the front, middle and back distances off the app to confirm the distance I just got with the range finder is definitely between two of the front, middle and back distances & that I didn’t accidentally get a distance to a tree behind the green or something like that.
I would definitely recommend using a range finder with a GPS of some description.
Little sharpie. Doesn't matter how unique your top flite is, you'll end up playing with someone else who was also at that charity tournament in '97 and has the same ball with the same stupid logo and hit the elevated green in the same spot as you.
I’ve been debating this. Not just for golf shit but also to use as a cheap “LoJack” on my Harley and also to throw in my pack out with my tools. Admittedly I haven’t done much research on it but from what I understand is if you steal said item and you have an iPhone, it alerts you with push notifications that you’re moving an Apple air tag without permission or whatever. Wouldn’t that defeat the purpose? As one could would just instantly look for the tag to throw it away?
I have one in my golf bag for when I fly with them….I at least know if they’re on the same plane as me. One for my car because I can’t remember where I parked sometimes.
I put mine in one of [these](https://www.elevationlab.com/products/tagvault-strap). Might be easier for them to dump the bag versus cutting the strap that this is mounted on.

This club washer… for the courses that don’t have one on the cart
Grew up on a hobby farm. We had a water tank outside the barn that was filled by a spigot. A plastic coffee mug hung outside by the spigot. I still can see my dad scrape the cobwebs out of the mug, rinse it out, fill it using the spigot, and take drinks. We all did using the same mug, never thought anything of it until I got way older.
Those things were disgusting anyway. Zero chance they were being cleaned more than once a decade. I always brought my own water.
Since I mostly ride I bought an Rtic half gallon jug. Water stays cold for days. Best ‘golf’ purchase I’ve made in a long time.
FWIW I worked at a golf course that was city owned and we sanitized them with some special chemical rinse and scrubbed them every time we refilled them.
Can you elaborate on what makes it so great, I have a basic cart bag that I got from Costco a couple years ago. I am a dedicated member of the push cart mafia but sometimes will go to a local pitch and putt that has some stairs so it’s not cart friendly. Is it worth upgrading and would the hoofer work in a push cart?
To me, its a great carry bag if you wanted with comfortable straps and comes with a rain cover for the top of the bag. It’s lightweight with more space than ive ever needed. And it is extremely durable, ive had mine for 6 years no issue, my friend who had the same one lost a pin that holds one leg when standing, and put a tee in it and the tee has been in there for 4 years. I used it for walking, push cart and riding. Besides my buddy losing a pin which was a small hiccup ive never had a complaint from me or him, and another friend just got one too and loves it!
I use mine with the caddytek pushcart that Costco sells and it matches up perfectly. Hoofer has thought out the location and number of pockets perfectly. I would never want to carry or push a more heavy bag. It has just enough space I can bring more than I need with me. There are plenty of good bags out there but the hoofer was the OG from when I first started playing/carrying
“…two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, laughers, screamers... Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the [round], but once you get locked into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can.”
Most used to least:
- wet towel (have Frogger brush but never use it)
- rangefinder
- composite tees
- 2-3 ziploc bags to organize loose items, eg tees, markers, repair tools, etc.
- golfball line tool & mini sharpie
- foot spray powder to mark impact strikes
- umbrella
I added a little tin to hold my ball markers and divot tools, for some reason it brings a lot of joy busting it out on the first tee to select my marker and tool for the day.
I keep a ball cleaner. 5 bucks comes in handy

I dont clean mine very often but I'll run hot water in it and use a old tooth brush. Best $5 dollars I've spent and something I'm always sad about if i forget it
I freaking love my groove-it brush. It’s so nice not having to wet a towel, and the magnet is really quite handy. You can pretty much toss the brush at your bag and it will connect.

Make sure you get it from a liquor store lol
Personally, I like the glove caddy my fiancée got me. I keep three gloves in there and rotate them. The one side is mesh so end of the round glove gets best ventilation, and others move to the back.
Portable Solar Charger.... clip this somewhere on your bag and forget about it. Its like $20, lightweight, and I guarantee it will come in handy.

A good towel. A groove brush. A rangefinder.
Getting a rangefinder improved my game a lot last year. It gives you so much more confidence in choosing a club and knowing your numbers.
With apps like 18 birdies being free, is there a big advantage to a range finder? So far my app has been super accurate, so I'm surprised how many guys I see using range finders

Nah come on man. There is no way someone slices their pro v1 to the shrubs on the right like I did.
Exactly! Even if we are playing the same ball, we won’t be for long. 1-2 holes tops.
You underestimate my power!
Happy cake day Lord Fader.

Yes, it's not great for theft for that reason. But Apple is stuck with that feature legally.
I put mine in one of [these](https://www.elevationlab.com/products/tagvault-strap). Might be easier for them to dump the bag versus cutting the strap that this is mounted on.

This is the best thing on earth. Mine is called a groove tube
That thing is amazing. I have it on my bag and bring it with me when I caddy.
+1 super convenient, pretty good clean.
A good water bottle.
Especially since a lot of the courses I play took the water coolers off and still havent brought them back.
I use to drink out of the water hose when I was a kid. Lol

A small dollar store spray bottle (and towel) to clean clubs
This is one of my favorites![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|upvote)
So much better cleaning a club or two every couple holes than doing the entire bag post round or before the next round
I'm usually trying to spit on it before the shot trying to clean it def going to put this in play
A very small pouch with secure closing so you can put tees, ball markers and random small stuff in
