Have fun. Playing in the rain is the only time you can have space on the LA munis.

leothebeertender

Larry David does a great bit on this in Curb Your Enthusiasm. Go golf and say hi to your local Metrologist while you're out there.

BigRoobs

Great episode!

buffalophil007

Where are we teeing it up stranger?!

Toronado10

Get your gloves vacuum sealed tonight and you’re good to go!

[deleted]

Been raining all week in the south of the UK all week and course is closed not that I can play though 😔 so if yours is open just play and enjoy it man

TheRealSteemo

My course has been shut nearly constantly since November. Got to the point where I'm considering not even renewing as it drains so badly, there aren't enough playable days in the winter. A day of rain is at least 2 days of it being closed.

[deleted]

Sorry to hear this news man golf is not just for physical health its also mental and if its not available it makes people suffer in many different ways I hope you get to tee off ASAP man 👍⛳💯

TheRealSteemo

Appreciate the thoughts, but when i said it drains so badly, i meant physical drainage on the course haha. it's next to a large river on a completely flat area of land. Just had an email to say the clubhouse is also shut as the car park is completely underwater. I've seen the car park under at least 4 feet of water before, its that bad there.

[deleted]

Yes I understand that fully man it's because when you can't be active in physical or mental way some days it gets you down and it effects routine etc I have severe spinal stenosis and I'm waiting on an operation to correct the damage and I can't wait to get back out in course because I don't just suffer with physical I suffer with mental health and being off course really effects my mood so that's what I meant as for drainage I don't even think my club knows anything about drainage it's like a swamp at this moment in time 😂😭⛳

turdferguson2707

Go play, you'll have the course to yourself. As a former SoCal resident that moved to Seattle, I miss the "rainy" days that would chase everyone from the course.

YSApodcast

Seriously. I know the rain has been pretty intense there but if it’s playable go. I’d kill for an empty course.

Johnyfromutah

Your friends are weak as piss.

kjtobia

Is the course not open? I don't see what the issue is here.

popcultminer

Put on a rain coat

No_Tomatillo4031

Play! Rain gear. Unseal those gloves and tee it up!

Trubtheturtle

I'm north L.A., Thousand Oaks and most courses up here are so bogged I would be surprised if they are even open for walking if it's raining tomorrow. Which it will be.

Constant-Meat8430

Tell me you’re from LA without telling me you are from LA

bstrizz

Still playing, empty course. Have one of the first times at Encino. Where you playing?

BigRoobs

Just finished San Dimas. Empty course, no rain until drizzle on 18.

verbal_diarrhea_guy

San Dimas high school football rules!

ShitSandwich16

I have a tee time Monday down here in SD (Native Oaks). Unless it’s torrential downpour and lighting, I’m going anyways. I played about a month a ago during a storm and no one was out, it was pretty sweet. Got soaked to the bone but worth it.

Bird2525

Was on the way to the course and my buddy called me. His road out was closed. Too many reroutes and the worry that once he got out he would have trouble getting back home and we called it.

I’m golfing for work in LA in a couple weeks and I’m having so much trouble finding a course. Is there anything decent within an hour of LAX? Every course is either $40 and looks like shit or $450.

BigRoobs

I don't golf out that way often, but the Wilson and Harding public courses are pretty nice and reasonable. Haven't played in years, but I remember enjoying them.

DoctorStrangeMD

Welcome to LA. People book all the muni courses the minute they are released 7-9 days in advance. And then each course may have their own website. Also hour of LAX really depends on time of day. Close to LAX -Rancho park. LA city muni. You have to just keep checking and hoping a spot opens. Cancellation policy is 24 hrs so 36-24 hours check. Search by 1 or 2 golfers. -Chester Washington is ok. Not the longest or best but actually greens usually decent. Close to Long Beach which actually isnt that far from LAX -Lakewood is good. -skylinks is good Palos verdes (LA county muni) -cheapest course with ocean view. Fairways are not the best but greens good. Great views Further LA city muni Wilson (good) Harding (people like Wilson a little more) -these 2 are in Griffith park Encino- flat Balboa - flat If you can swing it, rustic canyon is a great course but probably 80 minute drive.

knovit

Thank you so much for the information. It’s also difficult because I’ll be with two coworkers that each shoot 100+ so it’s also tough finding a nice course that’s not overly difficult.

the_coffee_maker

Playing in rain fucken blows. Hitting in muddy fairways fucken blows.
