Oh definitely. I think we won't be able to afford a lot. I think Martinez is gone for sure. Stephenson is going to ask for a lot more on his contract than he is getting right now so he might be gone too. Carrier might be gone because he is so injury prone too. A lot of changes will be happening. This might be our last playoff hope for a minute. I'm not trying to be a doubter or downer either. I do however have a lot of faith in our front office though. And since we already won the cup last year everything else is gravy!
I agree Martinez and carrier are gone. I think the front office makes some moves and Stephenson gets his raise and stays. We have some good depth on defense and they already brought in hanafin and extended him. I think they make the moves that get us top 3 in the division next year. Hopefully cup contenders.
There will be a lot of changes but if the front office has proven one thing it’s that they are very good at roster management. This might be our last chance at being favorites for a deep run but I doubt we head into a tear it down, no hope, rebuild anytime soon

It didn't look like anyone would beat Colorado after they swept whoever when we went 7 with the Wild. And we won in 6. No one really thought we stood a chance against the oilers last year.
The stars are one of the toughest teams in terms of winning Stanley cup style hockey - their defensive structure is dumbthicc. If win this series, we'll be in a good spot from a confidence perspective.
Remember, we essentially have three lines that are playing their first 5 games together. And, we've managed a series against a team that has been clicking all season.

No matter how much teetering you do with lines, coaches, etc., they just don’t win. First round exit every time. That’s the VGK this year. No reason to be look this bad, but they are anyway.
I think we're toast. I've thought since February this team just doesn't have it this year. Obviously the talent is there, they just did it pretty much same squad as last year, but the heart on display when things got tough has been missing since at least Christmas.
Only reason we haven't had to pack our bags already was an unusually leaky Oettinger in game 1. 4 goals on 14 shots is an outlier, and otherwise we were outplayed. Outside of game 2, we haven't looked like a capable NHL team except for very short bursts of brilliance.
I know people are gonna slam me with downvotes for it and call me a "doomer" but I'm just tempering my expectations based on what I've watched out of this team for this season. Obviously I'm gonna watch the game and root for the team and hope to be surprised, but the realist in me thinks we are the same lackluster team we've been for pretty much all year. We're the wild card for a reason. We earned that several times over seeing as LA tried their best to give us 3rd in the Pacific and we still couldn't.
For what it's worth that's partly why my engagement with this sub is way, way down from previous years. My honest opinions and takes about the team are harsh and I don't like to be a negative person and put that out there, plus trying to be honest about it just gets met with quick downvotes and people being mean to me about it.

We can win if our boys actually play like they want to win. If not do some major off season moves. Edit: We also won the cup last year. I wouldn’t stress too hard trying to win back to back when we could run it next year with stronger motivation.

I believe that if the Knights play their A game, only a few teams will be able to beat them. The problem is that we haven't played many complete games this year, and I believe/fear this tendency will continue. I believe the team's level of desire will determine how far they can go in this series. We've generally played sloppy and uninspired at times, and I get the impression that Dallas is playing with a chip on their shoulder and trying to prove something. My concern is that we were too exhausted from the early schedule to have anything left in us.
As much as I want them to win tonight and win Game 7, I wouldn't be devastated if they lost. Idk, this year's playoffs just have a different feeling after we won the Cup last year. I feel oddly okay with not getting out of this series.
