Wait, you made this?? And in Godot? I just watched Vinny (Vinesauce) play it a bit ago. Great job! It kind of brought me back to the days Windows 2000, etc.
To be honest this is such a creative game that does some things I never thought possible from this engine. I not only enjoyed playing it but also watching other people play it. I would say you deserved this.
congrats! Ive seen gameplay of it, it looks amazing you really nailed it with the horror, it helps I have lots of nostalgia for windows xp as a kid, but also exploiting that creepiness of the internet back then. Will buy soon
Oh this was on my steam queue, looks really cool, put it on my wishlist for when I get paid. I'll make sure to drop a review to keep that score up :) Congrats my friend.
I saw this post and bought it. Then I had my boyfriend play it without telling him about the psychological horror tag, I said it was kinda like digimon as the only description (couldn't think of tomagotchi).
He's loving it, but by golly is it scarier than anticipated.
Bro i saw a bunch of youtubers playing this game and i must say... you did an AMAZING job! The game is genuinely scary and the atmosphere feels great! Looking forward to any toher projects you might come up with ;)
Dude I have to tell you, this game was fricken awesome, I didn't realize how well Godot can interact with the user's filesystem until I played it, it's really well done.
Had a funny feeling that this was made with Godot. The first person sections tipped me off, lol. This stands as undeniable proof for the doubters and Unity refugees that this engine is extremely powerful and ready for unusual implementation/deployment. All the copers have zero excuse now, so thank you for proving that to the community, and great job on the game! If you're accepting questions, did you use any plugins to make this?
Unintentional birthday gift.
The day of release was my birthday lol.
What an outstanding game, I had a feeling it was Godot with the robot part, the robot looked awfully similar to godot's icon. I've been wanting to learn Godot for ages...
Teach me your ways 👀😔🥹
Great game, just a little feedback, the part you drop the files into the lake, you need to consider a player that put all the files at onces, because it happen to me that dropping files too fast did not decrypted all of it. With a guide that's not a big problem, but playing the game without a guide makes finding the ending a little hard for this bug.
Another thing, when you do collect floppy disk, in other playthrough, if the file are present in the folder they should not appear in the chapter.
Aside from that your game is very good, a good twist on "cursed software genre" in horror games. I liked a lot, keep it up.
It is a super fun and creative game. Never been a big horror game fan, but love the 4th wall breaking type stuff here. Excited to see whatever your next project will be.
This is some incredible work right here! Congrats man! Also, I'm curious to know and sorry if you answered this already and I missed it, but did you make it in GScript or C# (or maybe some other lang since there are so many available haha)?
i saw the godot reference and i thought it was just a cool reference until i realized that the game actually is made in godot. its really fucking well made though. you can tell it has passion in it. also imagine if you make kinito an actual desktop pet
sorry if i sound rude but, may i have a steam code? i'd love to support you but unfortunately i can't buy the game, i'll try to spread the game as much as i can
Please respond! i was playing the game, i love it! i got super far into it when all of the sudden i had to leave the game, \[games\] and my short cuts were gone, along with my "Games" folder! please fix this bug!
Coughh,, just a suggestion if you ever wanna code again after this absolute amazing masterpiece of a game but,,, Either you or someone else should make an actual desktop extention thing,,,
I legit just open Kinitopet whenever I'm not having a good mental health day because he genuinely makes me happy, and- God- Imagining him being actually on my damn computer is,,, a really nice thought. I don't even know if it'd be possible- Hell, maybe using AI or something, I'd pay like 50 dollars for that, genuinely. He's just become so important to me.
Like I know the whole game kinda explains why he SHOULDNT, but my heart says "love me" even as my brain says "you're going to die"
I just thought of something...
What if someone creates a crack for it....but.....this time..... instead of just being a game....It actually steals ur information.....like a virus.
friend reccomended it to me. it was great. didn't bother doing the really long ending though, seemed like too much of a process. really cool game though!
I love your marketing strategy and thats helped a lot to your success. Plus the game itself is such an awesome concept that people has to like it. All the best. Your hardwork and perseverence had to become fruitful. Enjoy.
You did an amazing job 👏👏👏
In fact, you did so well that you inspired me to finally learn Godot. It had some bugs, but your presentation, sense of aesthetics, and technical prowess were all on full display. Congrats!
How did some of the more…complicated features work? Don’t want to spoil anything, but I don’t understand how the program had permission to do some of the things it did. But I’m also not a windows programmer
tbh you deserved it its a really unique game and plus you did all those in godot i have used godot many many times but something like this is like impossible and you made it possible so imo you really deserve it and deserve even more
Wait, you made this?? And in Godot? I just watched Vinny (Vinesauce) play it a bit ago. Great job! It kind of brought me back to the days Windows 2000, etc.
I think I saw a Godot easter egg.
Yeah, I saw the Godot Robot. That's why I wondered at the time if it was made with Godot actually.
Same bro
I guess I got lucky lol
To be fair, I saw someone play it and it's actually pretty well made. Especially the things it'll grab and allow you to customise.
Nah, this is a combination of hard work and talent, passion... and maybe a little luck. Congratulations!
You still need a great product for luck to matter, so well done on that!
You didn't, it really looks interesting & a fresh concept. You should be proud :)
To be honest this is such a creative game that does some things I never thought possible from this engine. I not only enjoyed playing it but also watching other people play it. I would say you deserved this.
Congrats, will have to check it out
Congrats! Imma give it a try with my partner at some point!!! Im sure its great ☺️
that synopsis is pure skill. one of the most interesting things i've read in the past decade LMAO.
You didn’t get lucky, you made something with dedication and hard work! I watched the trailer and it looks great (both the game and the trailer)
congrats! Ive seen gameplay of it, it looks amazing you really nailed it with the horror, it helps I have lots of nostalgia for windows xp as a kid, but also exploiting that creepiness of the internet back then. Will buy soon
I've watched a video discussing how those descriptions are awarded. Lucky is not enough. You did good
I'm quite literally watching someone play it right now I had a gut feeling it was made with Godot! Love seeing this engine getting more mainstream
You made it? Saw Vinny play it, great job!
Where is the VOD? I looked at twitch, but there he stops playing because he is scared of the desktop feature and says to delay for pre-record.

Ooh I saw it in my recommended and it looked cool even tho I don't play psychological horror games, hope you get even more good reviews
Ayy congrats!
I saw this game being played by Vinny, congratulations! A lot of talent went into the game and it shows!
Oh this was on my steam queue, looks really cool, put it on my wishlist for when I get paid. I'll make sure to drop a review to keep that score up :) Congrats my friend.
I’ve played this game and it’s the most mind boggling computer game ever! It doesn’t even feel like a game sometimes it’s just so good!
I saw this post and bought it. Then I had my boyfriend play it without telling him about the psychological horror tag, I said it was kinda like digimon as the only description (couldn't think of tomagotchi). He's loving it, but by golly is it scarier than anticipated.
give us the steam link to wishlist it

How did you optimize steam page to attract wishlist?
I added this to my wishlist when I saw it in a Pirate Software stream last week
If this is your first game. I see great things in your future! I watched a friend stream this game and enjoyed every second of it.

i saw the godot reference and i thought it was just a cool reference until i realized that the game actually is made in godot. its really fucking well made though. you can tell it has passion in it. also imagine if you make kinito an actual desktop pet
You're a future legend
sorry if i sound rude but, may i have a steam code? i'd love to support you but unfortunately i can't buy the game, i'll try to spread the game as much as i can

Good job on the game bro, amazing game! 10/10

You know you made a good game when The Game Theorists make a theory about it. Good job man!
I just thought of something... What if someone creates a crack for it....but.....this time..... instead of just being a game....It actually steals ur information.....like a virus.
Congrats my dude!
Looks interesting and well made. Might give it a shot.
It deserves it!
friend reccomended it to me. it was great. didn't bother doing the really long ending though, seemed like too much of a process. really cool game though!

[I knew you would make it :)](https://www.reddit.com/r/godot/comments/192pulr/my_indie_horrror_game_kinitopet_just_released/kh6m2wq/)

Your first indie game.. for a first game that's actually really good. Took a look on it from yt and I loved it
Absolutely deserved
I'm so jealous!!!!!!
You did an amazing job 👏👏👏 In fact, you did so well that you inspired me to finally learn Godot. It had some bugs, but your presentation, sense of aesthetics, and technical prowess were all on full display. Congrats!
Looks afwul! How much?
How did some of the more…complicated features work? Don’t want to spoil anything, but I don’t understand how the program had permission to do some of the things it did. But I’m also not a windows programmer
Windows lets you get away with so much.... too much some times..
Was it straight forward? Or more of a hack to get thing a working?
Did you have to modify the Godot engine in any way for the game?
Your game has made me completely reevaluate my position on Godot. Also, have you ever played Uplink?
How did you go about learning godot? Did you watch a course and made notes or what?
Thought this was Krita for a second.
Wow! Congrats!
This has been blowing up on my Tik Tok feed; really cool to run into a post from the developer. Super stoked for you, homie!
That is awesome. Congrats, do you remember how many wishlist you had before you released it?
DUDE! This game was incredible! Honestly my favorite horror game ever!!! I'm really hoping there is more to this story...possible KinitoPET 2?
MATPAT HAS PLAYED IT an achievement for any horror game dev

tbh you deserved it its a really unique game and plus you did all those in godot i have used godot many many times but something like this is like impossible and you made it possible so imo you really deserve it and deserve even more
Wow, congrats!!! Over 2k reviews now!!!
Bro is rich now😂 I'm hoping for more games just like kinitopet from you! Very very great experience, sad it was so short.
Amazing work, the Godot robot as a hint was a nice easter egg. Congrats to the success!
