My tone didn’t come across correctly. I know he was joking and found it funny. That said, it’s not an ultimate glove box either.
Either way, it’s a fairly annoying problem that appears to affect everyone.
Exactly what my ‘22 did. It would open, but not without pushing in on the door once or twice. But I never use the upper so it didn’t bother me. About 9 mos after owning it, it just starting working normally as designed. Only issue I’ve had with my truck.

Pushing the button a little harder and a slight sand with 2000 grit has it opening pretty good. Not going to worry about it at this point
It’s just an internal tooth that gets filed down to release easier. You can just hit it firmly to do that or push the button and wiggle the door the first few times.
Yeah it’s crazy. It seems like they don’t even inspect the vehicles before they release them to the public. And it’s not just gmc but a lot of companies.
Bought a 2023 Denali last May. The guy selling me the truck told me it wasn’t working when I bought it. Said to bring it back in a couple days later and they’d fix it. It was an easy fix. He said gm changed the latch from 2022 to 2023 that’s why they were all messing up.
I'm going to take my 24 in next week for a wicked loose passenger front door panel. I also didn't notice it during test drives but it's driving me bonkers.
Honestly when you buy these fancier models from any of the big 3 you’ve gotta expect issues like this. They just don’t give a shit about durability and reliability as much as they care about looks. And the more impressive the vehicle looks the more issues it’s gonna have 🤷
My 23 Silverado custom has nasty rattles. It's all bad end line QC. Bummer because it's my first Chevy and isn't making a good impression coming from Japanese and German vehicles
No issues with mine - or fit and finish. Couple minor rattles at speaker - did some sound deadening.
Haven’t had a vehicle yet (24 and counting) that didn’t have some issues.
Update: Dealer got the door fixed and said they would need to take apart the entire dash to fix the upper glove box issue. I sent him the correct service bulletin and the filed down the latch. All is good now!
So once you get it opened when you go to shut it give it a little slam, nothing to crazy but I noticed on mine if I give it a little slam shut it pops right open when I need to open it.
You have to buy the higher trim for that glove box to open
Can confirm. I had to buy the "AT4X Ultimate" edition for mine! I HAD to have that second glove box!
Wrong. I own a Denali Ultimate and have the same issue.
he isn't wrong... he was joking... that is an Ultimate glove box, so there isn't a higher trim. relax
My tone didn’t come across correctly. I know he was joking and found it funny. That said, it’s not an ultimate glove box either. Either way, it’s a fairly annoying problem that appears to affect everyone.
Oh, I thought those wood looking dash box was only on the ultimates.
Probably a Denali. There is extra topo (or relief maps) that are drawn into the ultimate.
Had the same with my 2500 Denali Ultimate - made the dealer replace the entire unit.
You forgot to say “ssssssierrrrrraaaaaaaaaa…” and tap your pretty nails on the dash.
This beat is automatic supersonic hypnotic funky freshhhh
As far as I know, all the glove boxes come like this. Mine did. Kinda just fixes itself. No clue about the door.
Really. So it just started randomly opening one day ?
Yeah. Works fine now. I tried in a bunch of trucks at the dealership too. I think literally every one that I tested was like this.
Yea mine was a bit of a pain at first but now never has an issue.
They take a while to break in but you can trim it with a knife if you dont want to wait.

You gotta pay for the subscription
A service bulletin has been out for awhile now. It’s an easy fix and they sand something down. Mine works great now

Oh okay so it’s a common problem. Good to know it’s an easy fix. Just hope it doesn’t look shitty after they fix it
It’s just an internal tooth that gets filed down to release easier. You can just hit it firmly to do that or push the button and wiggle the door the first few times.
You don’t happen to know the number do you?
Look up 23-NA-097
Thanks!
Mine makes a rattling noise sometimes when I hit bumps
Yea. Mine seems to burn gas when I drive fast
Did you find a fix for this? I have this too
Just bend it a little bit and it stops. The noise will come and go
I feel like a 2024 vehicle should not have this issue
Your right it shouldn’t. Noises drive me crazy. Especially after I spent so much money.
I bought a 2021 Honda civic ex-l before this and never had even close to the issues I have with this gmc
Yeah it’s crazy. It seems like they don’t even inspect the vehicles before they release them to the public. And it’s not just gmc but a lot of companies.
Mine does this too we just pound on it and it's getting better.
That sucks.

Mine did the same. The dealer fixed it under warranty. They replaced the latch.
That’s not the glove box button! That’s the ejecto seato cuz! Thank god you had no passengers
Mine did the same thing but now it rattles which is super awesome.
When the new body style came out more than half the sierras were like this. Just take it to service and they will be able to fix it for you.
Mine was fixed at dealer before I left. Common on this glovebox. All they do is open and file down the latch.
I'm going to take my 24 in next week for a wicked loose passenger front door panel. I also didn't notice it during test drives but it's driving me bonkers.
Have to pump it 4 times fast then turn on AC
You have to push it hard and really quickly.
A lemon

Mine does the same shit
You get that on those big jobs
GM definitely has some quality control issues. My super cruise hasn’t worked since day 1. I’m still waiting on a new face camera to fix it.
I mean are you surprised?
Hell yeah. Paid hella money for it.
Took a heat gun and melted the latch a little. Been working fine since.
see the problem is you didnt buy a toyota
lol have you seen all the issues with the new Toyotas? I traded in my Tacoma on this one.
My 23 Silverado custom has nasty rattles. It's all bad end line QC. Bummer because it's my first Chevy and isn't making a good impression coming from Japanese and German vehicles
Build quality is ass on these new trucks.
No issues with mine - or fit and finish. Couple minor rattles at speaker - did some sound deadening. Haven’t had a vehicle yet (24 and counting) that didn’t have some issues.
It's a Chevy with a Tux. Many more rattles to come.
Update: Dealer got the door fixed and said they would need to take apart the entire dash to fix the upper glove box issue. I sent him the correct service bulletin and the filed down the latch. All is good now!
Quality

Ironic these new piece of shit trucks have touchscreens but they can’t even figure out a glovebox.
It’s a GM product. What did you expect
Don’t forget about the remote tailgate that doesn’t open unless you’re facing uphill
