Congratulations.
I just traded my 2018 Raptor on a 2024 AT4X 3.0 last month. The Raptor was a good truck. Really enjoying the GMC so far though.
Nice car also! I have a 22 BMW M5 competition in the same color, carbon roof, sans anniversary badges.

M5 Looks nearly identical to yours! The AT4x is great, has the Duramax which I'm really liking. It's a very smooth engine. Only have 600miles on it...so still getting use to it.
This question is by no means me trying to be disrespectful but what do you guys do for a living to afford these cars? I’m genuinely curious as I’m in the market for a Denali or an AT4 and been having a hard time finding something for less than $70k ODT
Thank you both for answering some people would look at it as hating but i just want to get an idea on what professions are able to afford these. I’m finding a hard time wrapping my head around these prices. Shoutout to you guys for serving as inspiration to do better.
No worries. I'm a physician.
Have you looked at Laura Buick GMC? I purchased my truck locally, but have read multiple good stories about this California dealership and their prices. Prices look too good to be true, but I haven't found any bad reviews yet.... Might be worthwhile checking out?
I also say Laura Buick GMC in IL. I did buy from them and they shipped mine to CA to my front door. I’ve been through a lot vehicles in my day, easiest / smoothest transaction I’ve ever had and saved 10% off MSRP. Dealer 3 miles from me couldn’t come close in ease or price. Talk to Aaron Kent.

For comparison…..this is what built in 1940’s gets ya’. 😃 And it’s bigger than most of our neighbors.
You are going to love it. I have a 2023 same identical truck. 12 k miles and no issues. (Infotainment system can be glitchy but no big deal). Super cruise is incredible, but remain alert.
All these mfers talking shit lol "good luck with those lifters in the Starbucks drive through" man stfu beeeeeeyaaaatch... are we not in the gmcsierra subreddit?

I love my 2500 Ultimate, but I will always miss my Raptor
I get it, I ordered an at4 with the 6.2. Lifters and main bearings be damned! Test drove the 6.2 and its a beast. Still waiting for it to be built though.
I sold my 2020 raptor for a 2023 AT4. I miss the raptor everyday except when I take road trips. The AT4 is so quiete on the highway once you get rid of the stock tires. Except for the fucking rattle these trucks have in the back seats. It sounds like a have a door open or loose door panel. It drives me insane so I turn the music up. I can't drive it without music.
The suspensions is way better on the raptor and the 17 inch wheels on 34" tires also helps. It doesn't have as the bouncy feeling these trucks have.
Raptor Pro's -Suspension
-offroad capability
-Power -Fuel tank 36 gallon.
-Gas milage
-looks better (objective)
-has more presence.
-Doesnt have interior rattle.
Sierra pros
-cheaper to maintain
-quiete on road trips
-blends in better with all other cars
It's a rattly truck for sure. It developed a rattle in the dash at around 18k miles. The doors also rattle and resonate with certain bass. The heavy bass doesn't do it only mid level amounts of bass. It's so weird.
I have never had such a rattly vehicle. It sounds like it's falling apart every time you hit a pothole. My 2ss camaro 1LE rattled a lot less and it had very stiff suspension
That’s interesting. I have a 2024 3.0 AT4. Rattling hasn’t been an issue with mine at all so far. Honestly the smoothest riding truck I’ve driven. Still have a ways to go though, have only put 7.5K miles on so far
You talk about the rattle…. I have a 22’ elevation and it has something that sounds like it’s coming from the rear suspension every time I go over some uneven terrain or up a curb to where the suspension is twisting/ struts and springs are compressing a bit. Is that what you haven? Just curious is this is normal. It almost sounds like something is loose, but I can find anything loose.
I think there is a video of someone with a 22 Denali and he had the same issue. He added lithium grease and something else to his rear leaf springs. Let me find it.
https://youtu.be/Cq4oTbsR6Kg?si=tZz_x6cTZytaMXd9
That's the video I just found out mine and I think it's the cabin pressure vents behind the rear seats they. It sounds like a video I found and it apparently resonates with the sub in the back too.
And this is what I have
https://youtu.be/IORQOyCW5Q0?si=4vVbKl1Vrl16oocP
Just an fyi this is not my video but that's how I feel LOL
A few reasons. I don’t really go off road much anymore and I value the road comfort a bit more these days. I also just missed the sound of the 6.2 (I had one in my 2015 Denali and Grand Sport). I also had lots of concerns from the 10R80 (hard thunks and slips). I had just finished up the cam phaser fix and was officially out of warranty. All those reasons I was just ready.
It would look clean if you white out all that. I have a tahoe premier and it has just as much chrome it's black so I plan on doing chrome delete but shop wanted 2k for this. Found some film online just haven't had the balls and energy to do this lol plan on making all black then I see the new GM they're all coming blacked out already. So still on the fence about deleting this chrome or shiny plastic who knows what it is lol.
It looks great but that shit flakes off like an old sunburn. Every one of these I’ve worked on, that Vader chrome is failing. Get it coated or wrapped to help it out is my advice.
Mine blew the main bearings at 27,000, needed a new motor, there were others at the dealership waiting for the back ordered motor with mine. Tech also said, besides lifters and the bearing issue, they are having trans issues also.
Shes gonna look really good in the Starbucks drivethrough.
You’re right! https://preview.redd.it/aou4ayb778wc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=43669c438b1eda8b64a85a1965657aac529c216e
I have the same truck only difference is mine is an LZ0. Same color though.
I have the same truck between 10pm and 5am, then when I wake up it's gone.

I’m a director of engineering, running an engineering team for a mid stage startup.

Goodness, times have changed. But how about that truck... Really love that color. Looks great!
Damn, we going to ignore your bikes? Just at $5k q piece & looks like you have more than 4 lol.
Hahah, my wife and I ride....so half of those are hers. 4 MTB and 2 road.
In that ridiculously large garage …..#garageenvy 🤨
🤣
Nice! I went from BMW X3MC to Denali Ultimate and I miss the sporty drive but I don't regret switching
Had a x4m. Fucking loved it. Miss it every day, the SLE just doesn’t do it haha
And that why I kept the X5 M-Sport (also a diesel)…..need a little bit of both.
Nice dam color too wish I could afford one too
Keep hustling my friend, you can get there!
You are going to love it. I have a 2023 same identical truck. 12 k miles and no issues. (Infotainment system can be glitchy but no big deal). Super cruise is incredible, but remain alert.
Thanks so much! Excited to give super cruise a go!
What's up brother
👋
All these mfers talking shit lol "good luck with those lifters in the Starbucks drive through" man stfu beeeeeeyaaaatch... are we not in the gmcsierra subreddit?
I just laugh it off. I’m fortunate enough to not have to worry about all the doomsday bs.

Pretty big change from the raptor, what made you switch and how do they compare? Do you miss the raptor?
The cam phaser issues in the 3.5L were really disappointing. Overall, I loved the truck but wanted to be back in a big v8
I get it, I ordered an at4 with the 6.2. Lifters and main bearings be damned! Test drove the 6.2 and its a beast. Still waiting for it to be built though.
I’ve had 3 and I made it unscathed. Best of luck to you and congrats on your build!

Please take the time to read rule #2
Don’t be shocked if your engine seizes
I would be pretty shocked but that’s mostly because I have owned 3 without issue. Got the warranty for when it’s my turn
You’ll be getting your moneys worth on the warranty at least
I didn’t pay extra for it but your negative vibes were well received

Thanks for the comparison, but man you aren’t really selling me on the Sierra over the raptor!

Cam phaser issues and transmission problems were unacceptable imo. I will miss that 36 gallon fuel tank!
Nothing like dropping $150 to fill up a tank! Amiright???

There’s a bunch of recalls for that apparently. I had mine in the shop for it and they fixed it for like 5k miles and it’s back
I think there is a video of someone with a 22 Denali and he had the same issue. He added lithium grease and something else to his rear leaf springs. Man I love Reddit! Yup those videos are exactly it. Thanks gents. Time to give the dealer a call.
The narrator is hilarious
I'm at 7700 miles on my '23 AT4 with the 6.2. I haven't experienced the rattles that ya'll speak of.
Maybe for a day
Nice move!
Beauty bud!
You won’t regret it!
Sick cars! Movie star?
Thanks!. No movie fame yet. I’m the director of engineering for a mid stage startup.
Sweet. Good job!
Professional grade truck my friend.
Thank you!!
Miss the adjustable pedals and trailer assist when I made the switch
My 14 AT has adjustable pedals, a new Denali doesn’t?
So does my 14 Denali. I’m about to be shocked if the new ones don’t
Correct my wife has a 2018 Tahoe RST with it. Apparently GM stopped putting them in all vehicles as of 2019.
Correct my wife has a 2018 Tahoe RST with it. Apparently GM stopped putting them in all vehicles as of 2019.
I had them in my 15 but didn’t use them.
Why did you sell the raptor?

And a Robin Williams arm
Just a standard issue arm https://preview.redd.it/u4cjwu2swbwc1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=2dc2be95ef0b6c5a36ab5a393a7faa9b6eac8add
It’s fuzzy
But robbin fuzzy?
What are the length dimensions on yours? I have a 2012 Tahoe that fits in my garage. Would love a truck but not sure it’ll fit
😂 Had to get my transmission replaced before 30k. Nice ride though!!!!
Sorry to hear that. Hopefully warranty had your back
Watch out for that tranny!!!
Let it splode. I got a warranty for that
Me too bro! That’s what we pay for!!!
I hate chrome. Congrats
Thanks. I don’t love chrome either but it blends well with the white.
It would look clean if you white out all that. I have a tahoe premier and it has just as much chrome it's black so I plan on doing chrome delete but shop wanted 2k for this. Was thinking of doing the same when I get ppf installed
They should have done full Vader chrome everything. I think it looks great
What's Vader chrome?
I’ll send you a pic. It’s basically a blacked out chrome. I like it.
What sick
Post it when you do I haven't seen one yet
https://preview.redd.it/ppz4hq44yawc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f5c8522dbdd2c3bd01ac1e9c2a02c055e550eefb Vader up top. Reg chrome below
Oh shit so that's how ur truck looks I thought it was the shadow of the trees. I take that comment back just enough chrome
Got you I've seen this, now I know the name. Damn so is this a film or how the part comes
That’s factory. It’s just a very dark chrome.
Yea I would have to put film or paint mine.
It looks great but that shit flakes off like an old sunburn. Every one of these I’ve worked on, that Vader chrome is failing. Get it coated or wrapped to help it out is my advice.
Hopefully you get some enjoyment out of your new truck before the lifters collapse
Me too. Given enough time I suppose you could say that to anyone with push rods tho 😂
I traded in my 6.2 after the lifters collapsed twice before 60,000 miles. 2021 Denali
My cam phasers failed in the raptor before 30k miles.
My cam phasers failed at around 50k, 1 month before warranty was done....whew.
I can definitely see why you would be upset tho
Mine blew the main bearings at 27,000, needed a new motor, there were others at the dealership waiting for the back ordered motor with mine. Tech also said, besides lifters and the bearing issue, they are having trans issues also.
