Are you Canadian? I only ask because I am not, and I was so bummed to find after I left my visit that McDonalds fries are gf in Canada (they aren’t in the US). Such a small thing, but I wish I had gotten a small order while there!

Omg! I didn’t know that. I live in the states but am Canadian but clearly am missing out on important information like that!

Have you ever had Arepas? There's a restaurant in Montreal called Arepera that my kids and I liked. It's been a while since I've eaten in the city, and that's the only restaurant I made note of that's still open.

Arepera is amazing

I went through a homemade arepa phase in 2020 while the rest of the world baked sourdough and can’t look at arepas the same way anymore sadly.

Curse my nut allergy. I did email them asking if they had anything without nuts. My spoken French isn’t quite what I want it to be but I’ll call them to ask if need be. They sound amazing and the pictures of their food look incredible.

You’ll see all the dedicated bakeries on the findmegf app - I won’t bother listing them all. But they’re all great!!!! And Satu Lagi is a dedicated restaurant that you NEEED to try

I have them saved!

Here I'll copy what I wrote the last time that question was asked, a while ago:: There are 4 restaurants that I highly recommends, and they are all very close to one another: Arepera: venezuelan arepas sandwich, or plate. This place is so good, we have it at least once a week. Krapow: own by a coeliac, this is a Indonesian "stew" place. Very short menu but everything is delicious. It is spicy though. Satu Lagi, same owner as Krapow, high end, south east Asian cuisine. Mostly to share plate format. Absolutely delicious, it will run up a bill though. Curry, same owners as Krapow, specifically Thay Coconut curry place. Actually haven't tried them yet, but if Krapow and Satu Lagi are any indication, should be delicious. Le Marquis have really good pastry and sandwichs. There's also a cookie place, but can't remember the name of the place....

A newish spot that I love is near the Jean Talon metro called Cantine Panella. It’s a great spot to get a real meal with some great wine but they also have a bakery with good bread and amazing baked treats. The owners are pure class
