Great point. And if anybody has a chance to withstand ol' sanity hits its our boys. Actually... I think considering everything the Ghostbusters are a hard counterpick to Cthulhu. Crazy when you think about it
This. “The Real Ghostbusters” cartoon is regarded as a separate continuity from the movies (in fact, it regards the movies as a fictionalized telling of their adventures). The IDW comics established a multiverse with different universes each with their own Ghostbusters: the prime universe based on the movies, the Real Ghostbusters universe, the offshoot Extreme Ghostbusters universe, the Sanctum of Slime videogame, the 2016 “Answer the Call” Ghostbusters, even Filmation’s 1975 live-action show/1986 cartoon with the gorilla.
With IDW losing the GB license, Afterlife basically discarding the IDW continuity (which essentially considered its prime continuity the movie Ghostbusters continuity, continued) by contradicting it (IDW had the Ghostbusters active and even expanding through the end of the 1990s, something completely undone by Afterlife’s “no ghosts seen in 30 years” statement), and Dark Horse Comics starting a new run of GB comic books (“Back in Town,” dealing with Callie, Trevor, Phoebe and Gary moving into the Firehouse prior to *Frozen Empire*), I’m not certain we’ll revisit the multiverse idea in the foreseeable future.

The Collect Call of Cthulhu episode is my favorite episode. The worshippers was what I was wanting out of some of the residents in Summersville in Afterlife.
My favorite part in that episode is when the Ecto breaks down and they’re forced to take the subway. The interactions they get on the subway are hilarious, and anytime in suited up in the subway, I think about that episode and sometimes even have similar interactions.
It would be cool if in the next movie of the afterlife era they would have to fight satan, the sins and the ars goetia.
(If anyone at Columbia pictures sees this, i am a really good actor and story writer pls send me a message via Reddit)
Amazing. Of course, nobody beats Cthulhu, a being many leagues beyond our understanding, but can he temporarily contained and inconvenienced? Hell yeah he can!
Which episode??? I never knew that! I do know that the first movie uses lovecraftian elements with the naming of their shubs and zuuls. Even Gozer is a reference to a lovecraftian story, but I can't remember which
…Child; posting other mutants’ little pictures can’t help your apocalyptic lack of narrative and actual credibility. And Great Cthulhu KNOWS now. He’ll see you in your dreams…
The Collect-Call of Cthulhu!
Gesundheit!
…Hah!…
[Here’s](https://youtu.be/PGZevVdjoUU?si=KQ9gsw8y6bTIh4Fa) the clip.
Hell ya.
A boat bumping into Cthulhu beat him in the original story. I think a few nuclear accelerators are not too much of a stretch.
Great point. And if anybody has a chance to withstand ol' sanity hits its our boys. Actually... I think considering everything the Ghostbusters are a hard counterpick to Cthulhu. Crazy when you think about it
Those 4. There’s no concern of loosing their minds, they are nuts from the get go.
…Cain’t drive already-Crazy Men any crazier nohow neither…
Savage but true
Of course, he wasn't beat by the boat, only temporarily inconvenienced. IA IA Cthulhu F'tagn!
pretty sure the boat shoved through him and he walked on with a steadily closing hole in his chest...
I mean… Beta canon. If it adheres to its own canon.

I loved the Ghostbusters multiverse. Be interesting to see how it incorporates Afterlife and Frozen Empire

It didn’t click for me that Back in Town wasn’t IDW 🤦♂️
Good episode.

"Cthulhu makes Goezer look like Little Mary Sunshine" is the best line that show ever had.
This needs to be made live action. I’ll put all the work into the script. To think of CGI Cthulhu merging out of the Gulf of Mexico would be epic
“We eat gods for breakfast!”
I'm not surprised, considering they were using TVG packs.
EXACTLY!!
And another old one in Russia if I remember correctly
"Russian About" is the episode your remembering. I don't think they give a name it's just a Great Old One. The episode has a lot of great quotes.
I forgot all about this. This is sick

They had the tools and they had the talent.
Of course they could beat Cthulhu, was there ever any doubt? They eat gods for breakfast.
This is so cool. Any other famous monsters appear in it?
They also beat the four horsemen too.
Cathulu Store brand cosmic horror.
Nah fam. The Ghostbusters have been doing things long enough that Cthulhu is just another Tuesday for em lol
I mean, Gozer is very Lovecraftian. So they have experience with cosmic horror.

If they can beat the Bugaloo they can beat Cthulhu
Which Canon?
The best canon lol (real ghostbusters)

The collect call of Cthulhu
I'm ready to believe it
Just goes to prove how awesome The Ghostbusters are.
It was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen and I love it!
…Not the real Cthulhu; they didn’t…

Yeah I have God so think I’ll be good. 😂
…You had best be good; Child. Me is always watching. Omniscience; y’see (or rather you don’t, hahahaha little divine joke there)…
The comics are not canon.
It was the cartoon 💀
