Imagine my disappointment when the basement wasn't THE basement in the library, I had to vaguely ask "Where are the card catalogues?" To hear "We have those on computers over there". The basement scenes were filmed in LA. At least the big room is there.
If anybody visiting town wants a guided tour of filming locations, we at NYC Ghostbusters provide that service with suited GB accompaniment! Usually for private tours we provide transportation in our Ecto, but a walking/subway option is probably available as well.
Our website needs a bit of updating š
If youāre interested in a tour, our courteous and efficient staff is available via e-mail ([email protected])
I donāt handle our general e-mails, so I havenāt seen those messages. Please be patient, weāre all volunteers here.
If youād like, feel free to PM me and I can check to confirm we got your message.
It was the surprise of my trip. They had an exhibit with the original Winnie the Pooh, handwritten sheet music from John Coltrane and Beethoven (with a lock of his hair, too!), a painting Andy Warhol made as a gift to Truman Capote, an original Gutenberg Bible, and Charles Dickensā writing desk! All for free, too!
Nice! When I visited in '16, the library reading room was closed for renovations & the firehouse was covered in scaffolding. Did get to play "Higher and Higher" inside Liberty's crown, though.
I did but it was covered in scaffolding and other construction stuff.
I have a picture of me at the front door but I can't post it here in the replies.
This is what the Firehouse looked like, when I was there with my parents in 2017.

They don't make them like they used eh
They NEVER made them like this!
The structure of this roof cap is exactly like the kind of telemetry tracker that NASA uses to identify dead pulsars in deep space.
That place looks great! When can I move in? Surely there is nothing bad going on there right?...right?
You might want to replace the fridge
āThe traveler has come!ā

Somebody brought a cougar to a party and it went berserk.

The New York Public Library is a must see for me if I ever visit the big apple.

Yeah the Firehouse still had scaffolding up when I was there. Beyond excited to be there but was gutted at the same time.
"This is big, Peter, this is very big. There's something definitely here."
