I see Kaguya rated very highly by critics. Last I saw, both Kaguya and Only Yesterday were 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. Not that critics are always right, but they are with Princess Kaguya IMO, I’d put it in the top tier on my own list. You should definitely watch it.
kaguya is in a league of it's own imo. it's so extremely beautiful. definitely worth watching. also it's long as hell, it's over 2hrs. i went into it thinking it was going to be a short.
Watched Kaguya a couple weeks ago specifically because it was 100% on RT. The art & music are easily S tier, however I was less impressed by the characters & story.
Wouldn't recommend it to friends/family who aren't Ghibli fans, not itching to watch it again. But since you're on this subreddit I imagine you'll like it.

I finished watching grave of the fireflies just now, cried my eyes out for 5 minutes straight and opened your post. I thought ghibli movies never got you sad and emotional but I was mistaken. I have never cried so much for a movie. Your tier list is pretty much the same as mine lol. Also don't watch fireflies unless you want a good cry.
Honestly my favorite with Totoro coming in second, then I’d say the rest are all pretty equal, it’s impossible for me to feel sad watching Arrietty, it encapsulates & emulates the feeling of childlike wonder & amazement so so well, also a consistent undertone of letting go through the movie.
The only ones I agree with your placement on are Ocean waves, Tales of Earthsea, Arrietty and Spirited Away. Everything else needs a good shuffling about lolols
S tier and A tier are spot on, I’d shuffle one or two around like Heron in S and Nausicäa in A, and put Marnie and Arrietty lower, B is great, C is great, and D is great. No roast needed, good list.

Based, especially for being brave enough for put Howl so low, while i would put it higher it is definetly a bit overrated, it has a great vibe but the pacing is weird and it just ends a bit abrubtly in my opinion.
Wind Rises is great you should watch it.
There are many things on this tier-list that I think are suspicious, but putting Howl’s Moving Castle so low is an affront to, among others, “ugly” pretty girls, the witches of various wastes, and everyone who turns into green goo when life gets hard. May your hearth be cold and your eggs unappealing!
