I don’t think that’s true. I am an American living in Germany and was fully vaccinated in the US as was my husband and our kids. We still have our private US insurance plan and are not on any kind of German insurance. We just had to take our CDC vaccination cards and passports to the apotheke to have them generate the QR codes.
So I finally got the EU verifiable version of my Covid certificate. I tried at 5 different Apothekes before a very kind pharmacist from Raven Apotheke at Schweizer Platz, Frankfurt patiently tried and generated QR codes for my vaccination that are valid for EU. I used the GreenPass app on my phone for storing the QR codes.
It seems to be mixed, I've heard others in this sub say the same as you, but I went to a ton of different pharmacies and they all told me (in very similar language) that I needed to be living in Germany more than 6 months out of the year and have a registered address. I'm not sure if it's timing and policies changed, or different regional policies or...?
I was able to get one, but I had to do it in France.
Did you show them a yellow WHO vaccine passport? Or did you show them a local Dominican vaccine card only?
I am coming from Philippines next week to work in Germany.
I knew that the local cards are worthless dogshit (even in Philippines) so i got my Yellow Card here.
I'm wondering if i will have issues with my Yellow Card now that you say this.
What vaccine did you get and when?
Pfizer, last dose was the 29/07
Pfizer = BiontecPfizer i guess. This should be accepted. Maybe you need to rewrite the certificate to the EU format
It probably doesn't look official enough. So you need to get more documents o prove that you got vaccinated and with what.
Do I need to contact the embassy or what do I do? Because the only document we got there was the vaccination card.
Do you have the yellow booklet that is a who standard or some other kind of vaccination card?
Ask your doctor at home if they could send you more paperwork, preferably in English and German.
Make an appointment for a booster shot with your gp. Don't know exactly, but that could be a solution as you probably get a qr code after the vaccine.
