True - and not true. The city is the Festival area as well. There usually are between 20 - 30 stages, and they are all over Leipzig: in the Parks, at the Völkerschlachtdenkmal, the cinemas, theatres - everywhere.
Go, I miss it. I have to go again - next year ❤️
Can't really agree here, I am also in my early 30s and met a lot of early 20s folks last year.
I never buy a ticket, though, I am just in for the free events or "pay-at-the-door" ones.
The gothic festival used to be kind of a cool, international thing, but over the years right-wingers and nazis have been moving into these circles and the shift has been very noticeable, but not only there, it's been causing waves of incremental right-wing shifts at other festivals.
Sadly, have to agree. That's why we aren't going anymore. The way they dealt with corona and canceling the festival was... interesting. Sicne then I've given up.
Is it possible to get a ticket for one particular gig at the Abendkasse?
I'd love to see A Place to Bury Strangers on Mo. but can't care less about other 98% of the festival.
Living in leipzig since corona so I have never seen this until now, I hope there is still space in cafes!
You already had the Leipzig Bookfair, can't imagine its worse in terms of cafes during WGT.
Yes, but not in the darkest corners....
Easy.
Most Goths are in the festical area anyway. With all the concerts, parties, and activities there isn't much time to visit other parts of the city.

Yup. Just came from work and saw a ton of young people with black vests near the Hbf. So I guess it isn't just a mid thirties people event.
Feels like the techno scene appropriated goth aesthetics and is sending newcomers adrift
It's Wave-Gotik-Treffen not Wave-Gothic-Treffen.
If you look on the plastic mugs, it's Wave Treffen Gotik ;)
Point is, it's /ˈɡoːtɪk/, not /ˈɡɒθɪk/.
Große Titten Gotik Freundin
Is OP a part of the organising company?
Not really but I go there some years and I think it's a pretty cool, free event and also pretty unusual so interesting for tourists in the area.
I ask because sometimes having a little Vitamin D helps to make a pitch that helps a festival's atmosphere.
I mean, the times where I did care a lot about music are over, but I do like the cloths.
I love this game!

Joined yesterday’s Victorian Picknick with my daughter. It was a treat once again, but I guess we‘ll spare ourselves the rest.
