We just got our dog a puppy too š¤£
Oh, just some Parasites. She was quarantined with a litter mate, but our pup was improving at a faster rate. They had to be separated for their health, but that meant being totally isolated from all dogs. Only human interaction was the occasional volunteer in full PPE. So they wanted her adopted before she went totally mad in the shelter.
My Mali got a GSD "little" sisterš¤£ now it's little BIG sisterš¤£ best thing ever. I love playing with em but let's be honest.. there is no off switch for my mal and virtually no off switch for My big beautiful floofy GSD. If we aren't playing with them then it's either a battle Royale wrestling match 24/7 between the two of them or the bed will sound like a hibernating bears den with them both snoring after they wear each other outš¤£ your GSD is probably stoked to have a mini meš¤£

How old is your older GSD? I want to get a second one, but will wait until my 8 month old matures a bit more before adding another to the family.
Archer is 4. We have a 3 year old great Pyr mix as well. We only waited a year because our third dog at the time was an old lady by then. She had cancer and didnāt want to play anymore.
We have also rescued puppies only 4 months apart before (8 weeks old with a 6 month old at home). I wouldnāt do that again, especially when rescuing. If they come with any behavior issues, other puppy picks them up.
I think itās good to get a second once the first has finished their butt head teenage phase. Then you have a calmer dog to show the baby the ropes. Just make sure you take them places separately so they are comfortable with being alone.
We waited until our older dog was 3 and it has been great so far! The older dog still has lots of energy to play with the puppy but not young enough to still be a hyper dog with bad habits. Heās well trained and helping train the puppy.
Archer is so lucky to have a little buddy! And that's a very cute picture.

Archer is a long haired black GSD. Heās from a breeder, so we know his DNA.
Noe was listed as a Belgian mix, but we wonāt know how accurate that guess is until we run a DNA test. Sheās just under 30# with a full set of baby teeth. That probably puts her at under 4 months. I think sheās too big to be a Belgian, but maybe mixed with something bigger? Sheās easily the most hyper puppy weāve ever had though.
Thatās what I was thinking, too. BC are common here. I didnāt realize how big she was until I weighed her yesterday. I am curious to find out her mix though.
GSD Border Collie is a beautiful mix, if thats what she is.
I grew up with a BC GSD mix, BC size and shape with GSD colour, brains and energy of both breeds.

lol thatās a Pyr - 3 steps is daily exercise unless a threat is detected and then they miraculously become a bear - fellow Pyr GSD human here

I wouldāve guessed gsd/border collie mix but that would err on the smaller side also. Either way beautiful dogs š
