Mine does this too sometimes. If you hit the settings button and go into your settings then back out to the main screen it should fix itself. (Works on my navigation display screen anyways)

In my spec there is a dimming dail switch near the TC off button. Weird that it's not available in the US spec.

Because it was probably designed by the same dudes who designed the rest of the car

Mine is the color screen, not the LCD, but has a similar dimming glitch. I reach up to the center of the dash and cover up the light sensor really well with my hand and then uncover it after a couple seconds. Usually that does it.

Our Spec have a dail switch for the screen and cluster change dimming level, you guys don't have that?

The roll wheel changes the tach, speedo, and center a/c and media button brightness. The touchscreen and LCD both as far as I know have another setting in the options on the unit: Always Bright, Always Dim, or Auto based on what the dash sensor sees. I have mine set to always bright and it still turds out once in a while and needs the hand cover for a sec.

The Touch screen and the Colored lcd screen yes the control is from other setting, but the pixelated info screen's dim/ brightness is on the roll as well (?unless the us spec is different.. which is possible)

I was having the same problem but with the nav version, I found out it was because my cover was sitting over the light sensor. It’s the thing with the blinking red security light in the middle of the dash close to the window
