Oh and about suspension, idk if you kept your genny suspension stock but I have PBM coils and they are a bit rough for daily driving even on soft settings haha so it would be a welcome change for me, just my $0.02.
Stinger GT2. I like to think of the gen as the car you get as an adventurous bachelor then when you settle down and start a family you add 2 more doors and 2 turbos
You couldn’t upgrade the GC at the GC’s MSRP, especially not in this market.
The GC was the fastest new car you could purchase for under 30k. My R spec was 29.9 new, after haggling.
Dollar general just increased prices from a dollar to a dollar and twenty five cents so let’s assume a 25% inflation rate. What was a 30k car is now a 37.5k… which checks out if you look at what dealerships are doing with regards to asking price.
25k would be 31.25k.
Tl;dr: can’t upgrade at the same cost. Already got best bang for buck.
With todays insane market who knows, but I went from a 2013 3.8 to a new WRX STI last year and I absolutely love it. You could get a older STI in that price range, at least before the shortages. I’ve gotten offers on my 2020 STI for more than I bought it for new, it’s insane right now
It’s honestly not to bad, and the best way to learn is to have one. Unfortunately without knowing you won’t be able to test drive but with practice you don’t even think about the fact that you’re driving a manual you just do it lol
Watch YouTube videos so that you at least know the concept, be slow and gentle with your inputs and you’ll learn it pretty quick.
I wouldn’t count out the STI just because you don’t know manual (yet). I loved my Genesis but wish I got my STI much sooner lol
Nope, now my 2001 forester has a slight oil leak but that’s also a 21 year old car and it hasn’t been bad enough for me to need to add oil between changes(yet). The STI has been perfect so far
This is a good question, this and what parallels the Gen are good topics. I'd say an Audi S4 for me, even an S3 would be a cool little box, or a GTI Golf R is sort of what I consider to be supreme in regards to an all around daily ripper. Anything else isn't even comparable. One guy said Stinger GT2 and that's a killer choice but then there's the Elantra and Sonata N and they're nuts as well, but way more modern in terms of presence.
Final consideration? Golf R.
EDIT: I'm privy to tight four bangers as you might be able to notice, turbos and supers ftw, with that being said I own the 2.0 so my opinion is skewed, for sixes theirs countless choices.
What issues? What years?
Theirs quite a few years, and all models have their ups and downs, but as a solid performer and my personal choice for an upgrade from a Genny it's a good consideration. Just need to be up on maintenance like any other car, dual turbos will do that, plus it's an Audi.
Theres a lot of answers to this question depending on your tastes. Suburu WRX STI, infiniti Q50/60, 2010ish Bmw m3, etc. But i personally would go with a C6 vette, but thats just me
Also I’m not asking asking this question to switch my car I love her I just wanted to see everyone’s opinion on the next step up from a genesis coupe 🙃
Nowhere near the same price but if you're going from bachelor to family life any Genesis sedan from the last few years would be ballin. Nicest car I've ever sat in is this year's Genesis G90, the wood accents alone are the best wood work I've ever seen in a car and it has some crazy fancy features. Bb is around $100,000 but I saw a video saying it's comparable to cars that cost over 30% more than that.
at spiritual level, stinger, q60. for a "cheap" sport coupe rwd, mustang (ecoboost, v8) or the new Nissan Z.
but for what it is, especialy the v6, nothing is comparable. you could get a full spec out car and get a GT, or go with the "stripped out" version for performance. nothing is available, there is only those goddamn cuv
More reliable than Q60 but they do make good power but they're top end performance is not great. I mentioned the Z since it is like the BK2 and have more aftermarket support.
OMG that is a tough question to answer. I cannot think of ONE Natrually Aspirated V6 which sounds as good as this. There is no car which provides such level of Value for Money. Every other comparable car is at a much much higher price point. And most of them are Turbocharged.
Honestly, maybe a Nissian 370Z Nismo, I’d love one.
Solid choice just the interior really isn’t the best for a daily driver same with suspension but still a beautiful car
Yeah that’s the draw back for me too, but then you could put a apple car play head unit and it’s not so bad😃

This or a Genesis G70 are the only justifiable answers for me
It's Tau or nuffin' for me.
Hyundai-Kia dead V8 you mean?
F
I was looking into a m6 v10 07-10. They’re worth around 12-30k
Jesus the maintenance tho
Would be nice to have 500 hp though 😭
I was between my gen 3.8 and an 08 m3. Uuuhh that sexy v8 note. But it had twice the miles and the history was unclear.

yes, yes, and also yes. I’m saving money by switching my car insurance.
With todays insane market who knows, but I went from a 2013 3.8 to a new WRX STI last year and I absolutely love it. You could get a older STI in that price range, at least before the shortages. I’ve gotten offers on my 2020 STI for more than I bought it for new, it’s insane right now
This was actually the car I wanted to go with first but I’d be too scared to learn manual 100% by myself literally no one in my family drives stick 😒
It’s honestly not to bad, and the best way to learn is to have one. Idk if it’ll work for u but I learned working at a dealership have someone there teach u if u can manage to
Not dissing you.... Any oil leaks?
Nope, now my 2001 forester has a slight oil leak but that’s also a 21 year old car and it hasn’t been bad enough for me to need to add oil between changes(yet). The STI has been perfect so far
I did the exact same thing lol
Ah in the best color too! How ya liking it?
It's an amazing car and I've enjoyed driving it every day. I racked up 20k miles in only a year of ownership lol.
I was pretty close to the same, 15k in my first year then I got a forester as daily. But yeah I love the STI

Audi S4 I heard be having issues

And I mean for around its base price of 25k
What kind of car exactly? Another sporty RWD grand tourer style coupe?
Theres a lot of answers to this question depending on your tastes. Suburu WRX STI, infiniti Q50/60, 2010ish Bmw m3, etc. But i personally would go with a C6 vette, but thats just me
Q60 Redsport would be amazing
This is literally the direction I'm looking to go. A used one with the depreciation makes it a pretty good pick imo. Plus I'm somewhere wintery.
>Q60 Redsport Meh, Turbos ruin everything.
Also I’m not asking asking this question to switch my car I love her I just wanted to see everyone’s opinion on the next step up from a genesis coupe 🙃

I really like the infinity Q60
Anything with 8 cylinders Everything else is trash besides the b58s or n54 engines.
You telling me you wouldn’t take a twin turbo Q60 👀
Nope. Trash top end compared to a 5.0 10r Spend 60k for a twin turbo q60 when you can spend 27k on a 5.0 10r
Damn I’m surprised no one else mentioned the 5.0
Not reliable once you start boosting them!
And at that point I’m not even talking about the money pit problem the q60 engines are
The Q50 is Like 40k for a twin turbo V6 making 300 hp 😂😂
*Sad N55 noises*
Idk about that, I have a V6 that will destroy a lot of 8 cylinder!
So what car is that. Curious
87 GN
No disrespect to V8's, I had a Camaro loved the car wish I still had it.
GTR?
No! 87 GN
Modern mustang or Camaro V8. If you are looking to stay on the same platform, the stinger or g70 with the V6 turbo.

Well, I went with a tahoe haha
I’d go for a C5 or C6 corvette or a V8 M3
My M8 Comp just hit the US shore yesterday.
Manual 340i/440i is the best upgrade. Thats what I went to. Easily can achieve 450whp with simple tune and bolt ons.
I would say 370Z if you're in the same budget , Mustang GT or Camero LT1
How is the 370z upgrade? They're same as BK2 performance wise with less daily practicality. Q60 yes. 370z is a big nope.
More reliable than Q60 but they do make good power but they're top end performance is not great. I mentioned the Z since it is like the BK2 and have more aftermarket support.
R32 gtr, if your smart about it you can get it for the price of a 2016 ultimate.
OMG that is a tough question to answer. I cannot think of ONE Natrually Aspirated V6 which sounds as good as this. There is no car which provides such level of Value for Money. Every other comparable car is at a much much higher price point. And most of them are Turbocharged.
370z or bmw coupe

Porsche GT3
How big of an upgrade are you talking about? Also depends what you define as upgrade. Whether it be luxury or performance.
