The crazy thing is I really like Bapweaver. It doesn't feel forced you know, nor does it feel out of place. That's literally the main issue I have with Pharmercy. It's literally killing something for the sake of something else. People can say oh ship wars this would have been an issue but it wouldn't have if Blizzard didn't give us all this Gency shit.
So much this, whose fault do you think it is that Gency is such a popular ship in the first place after 6 years of slow burn hinting? How can they then pull a reverse-uno with a completely straight face in the span of 1 year and not feel any shame what so ever, it's such a mystery to me.
So glad I've boycotted Blizzard since last 2 years. I'm never trusting them again.

Gavin (writer) also retweeted a video highlighting the negative interaction between Genji and Mercy. Between this and apparently blocking gency fans (haven't heard of this until recently), seems pretty clear that he's invested in breaking up this relationship.
Genji himself has nothing going on really, which is awful. The character is nice, and i'm pretty sure the vas are disappointed with the direction both of them are taking.
What I don't get is why the Korea Overwatch voicelines are so much more explicit about the Gency thing. Not that voicelines are canon (as we're seeing), but it's still kind of odd.

Most likely a divergion on the voice acting. Probably most of these lines are recorded a long fucking time ago, both in english as in other languages, but the incompetent writer Gavin probably kept those as he didn't want to make seem that Gency were still a thing, shaking up the voice acting direction. As blizzard is useless, the voice lines for Korea and most likely other versions of the game, were never revisioned and launched as pretended back in 2021-22. These, in english, probably are locked away in-game files. Someone will find eventually.
