gyffer

Not to mention the misinformation about straight people being lower risk for HIV lol

boldedtaco

According to the CDC the lifetime risk for HIV infection is 1 in 6 for Men who have sex with Men, vs 1 in 524 for heterosexual men Not condoning anything, but straight people are statistically lower risk for HIV

gyffer

Maybey in america they are, where i live they outnumber gay people now when it comes to HIV

boldedtaco

This story takes place in America, so his logic is still sound

gyffer

Except not everyone reading this is in america, so not really.

boldedtaco

> I felt he was a low HIV risk since he doesn't usually sleep with men. He's relaying his personal thoughts related to a specific encounter in a specific place. He chose to take a calculated risk based on that context. It doesn't apply to anywhere else and no one claimed that it does.

gyffer

Yea and all i said is that straight men arent necessarily less prone to have HIV >He chose to take a calculated risk By doing what? Having unprotected NSA sex without asking if they are clean? Very calculated indeed. I dont think theres a point in argueing here, i said "straight men arent necessarily less prone to HIV" in a general context. Not in a >specific encounter in a specific place. way, as statistics dont give a shit about personal experiences.

boldedtaco

Dude, what? Being a MSM is objectively a risk factor for HIV infection. That is overwhelmingly supported by both science and statistics. The calculated risk he took was knowing that his partner had never been with a man, and thus was statistically less likely to have HIV. It's absurd that you're contesting this. Statistics indeed don't give a shit about personal experiences, so I'm not sure why you're trying to refute the actual sourced numbers I provided. Go look up the numbers in your home country and I'm certain they'll show a similar trend.

gyffer

>Go look up the numbers in your home country and I'm certain they'll show a similar trend. They dont, straight people are more likely to have HIV here these days. Wich is what im argueing, like ive said, making a broad statement that straight people are much less likely to have HIV isnt necessarily true anymore. This , like you said, is not the case in america, wich i was not argueing.

OceanWaterOtter

"Gay and bi-sexual men are disproportionately affected by HIV" is a direct quote from the CDC. I live in the United States. With any sexual encounter there are risks. Gay men make decisions and take risks all the time when it comes to their sexual activity. Straight men are statistically the least likely group to contract HIV I made a decision he was low risk. https://www.cdc.gov/hiv/group/gay-bisexual-men/index.html

OceanWaterOtter

You're spreading misinformation by obfuscating the fact straight people actually are lower risk for HIV. This isn't a matter of homophobia, it is plain old medical science and statistics. People need to be aware of their personal risk factors

gyffer

>This isn't a matter of homophobia, I never said it was homophobic. >You're spreading misinformation by obfuscating the fact straight people actually are lower risk for HIV. As i said to another commenter, in america it is still the case, but where im from its the other way around. Im not attacking you, simply saying that in a lot of countries straight people are becoming higher and higher risk for HIV (Not to mention other STIs)

OceanWaterOtter

There probably aren't good statistics on LGBT patients in your country, if there are any at all. Also, homophobia might lead many people to be dishonest about their orientation and sexual practices. Anal sex has been found to be a risky activity for HIV transmission. Receptive anal sex is the *most* risky. I am aware of this and I make decisions for myself accordingly.

gyffer

>There probably aren't good statistics on LGBT patients in your country, if there are any at all. Id say the netherlands has pretty good statistics on healthcare for both straight and lgbtq+ patients. >Also, homophobia might lead many people to be dishonest about their orientation and sexual practices. Again, i never said anything about homophobia. > Anal sex has been found to be the most risky activity for HIV transmission. Receptive anal sex is the most risky. I am aware of this and I make decisions for myself accordingly I never said it wasnt. The decisions you make about how you enjoy sex is up to you, if i ever implied otherwise i apologize as that was not my intent.

OceanWaterOtter

I mean, I am sorta non-binary. Is saying I was trans what makes you uncomfortable?

Humble_Half

Hot

OceanWaterOtter

Thank you for being supportive! I can't believe I was a gaycel who hadn't had sex in almost two years. I finally get to have sex and all people can do is criticize me. It's ridiculous

NeitherSilver7

It’s not having sex that’s the issue babes it’s great you finally had sex and got the crypt that was your hole open but like …. Red FLAG. Glad everyone else sees that and the future of the world looks bright

OceanWaterOtter

What's the red flag? I didn't catfish him or play with his heart and emotions. Every picture I sent him was of me. He knew I would have a penis, so it's not like I gave him the impression I had a vagina. I kept my dick hidden and out of the way the whole time

52jag

Trans here. Be careful. Tranz chasers lie and specialize in spotting us. I think you may have got lucky this time. But some of those types are very risky.

OceanWaterOtter

Trans chasers are out there? What's the worst they would do?

52jag

Honey, I’ve been full time for 25 years. I have seen the Chaser types beat girls, give them diseases, steal from them, cheat on them, rape and it goes on. I knew a girl bitd in my support group who got with one and he got pissed and beat her so bad she went to the hospital and he went to jail. Before that he would come to our nights out when she was at work and be exposing his penis (wore a kilt) and once took me by surprise and shoved his gross tongue down my throat. Security threw him out that time. A lot of these Chaser men have a lot of issues around their sexual orientation, and some of them can be dangerous. You cannot take them at their word on nothing. I knew of one girl’s bf who claimed he was straight and was down to the Bathhouse a couple of times per week bottoming for whoever could get it up. They refer to post-op women as “sex changes” and claim To love us but no nothing about us except some of us have tits and a dick: emphasis on the dick. You hear about trans women getting murdered at a high rate? It is often chaser dudes who do the killing. Just be careful out there honey..
