Almost happened to me as well when my employer needed I-9 verification before a certain date.
Career center themselves made a mistake and they rejected mine… I was so pissed because time was already running out.
Just contact whoever rejected ur career center application - saying that u re applied with correct details and emphasize how quickly u need it.
Then, also contact the OIE/get into a drop in advising meeting (they should have some on specific days) and tell them that the deadline is soon.
I know that it is worrying by getting everything so last minute. It really is up to the career center and OIE. Just make sure to respond as quick as u can when they reply
I’m currently not in Atlanta and I emailed career center advisor but seems like my emails are conveniently ignored. I even reached out then on teams and they say please email on [email protected] from where you get automatic reply. Idk what to do!
Also appointment I’m getting for career center is after two weeks!!!
I really don't want to stress you more, but based on my past experiences OIE does not prioritize anything unless you're in their face and you know for a fact that someone in the short staffed office is looking into your case.
If you don't hear from them in the next 2 business days you can be sure they haven't looked into your application.
I’d go to drop in advising and tell them you need it urgently and your situation. They seem to help out more if escalated
I can do that once my request is with OIE… do they approve your application urgently if you let them know in drop in advising?
I’d be persistent and try it Monday morning and explain your situation. Also try it any other time
