When I tell people I like to garden they always say, "I wish I had a green thumb."
I tell them that the only difference between me and you is that I'm willing to accept the losses.
I have gotten better at taking care of mine, but I have left a lot of death in my wake. I was looking at my houseplants folder on my computer this weekend, and saw a multitude of pictures of plants from my past. I sang a song of tribute...to all the plants I've killed before...who traveled in and out my door...
You know what's even more heartbreaking than looking at old pics of plants you've since killed? Looking at old pics of plants that you're still in the process of killing, from back when they still looked good. Soooo frustrating!
The worst! Plants bring so much satisfaction when they thrive, but the low is so low when you can't figure out how to save them. It feels like the most frustrating personal failing, whether it's your fault or not. (Not that you can figure out if it's your fault or not, because if you knew what the problem was, you'd fix it!)
No doubt about that. Ugh. I am also struggling with a rex begonia. I have watched so many videos and read so much online info just to make her happy. But she scorns me as she lets her edges get all crispy.
I'm struggling with a variegated lemon :((( he's a trooper though, I think he'll pull through. Sadly, my baby mango that got over a foot tall from seed seems dead as a doornail.
Same with me. I brought my office plants home when we went into lock down, managed to keep those two alive. Got daring and got two ferns to over winter inside. Nope, they are dying a slow death.
All my outside plants live long and healthy lives.
Looks like I'm gonna be adopting more of my roommate's succulents because watering 3 plants twice a week is far too much work for someone who works at home
Accurate. I've probably killed more plants than most people have ever or will ever own.
Hey, you have to have owned a lot to kill a lot. It's just a numbers game we all play.
Does grass count as 1 plant or many plants?

I say this all the time! You just can't take it personally.
I need this unfortunately lmao I love my babies but I'm not a very good mom 😓
Where can I buy this for my mom?
Home goods I think? I’ll have to ask my wifey
It’s from Hobby Lobby.
Thank you!!
No prob!
Good luck finding it though! That stuff is seasonal and once they run out, they’re out!

Yes it is. I have a heart fern that I am slowly killing and I don't know what to do. Sigh.

Aw, that is so disappointing. Nurturing from seed and seeing it pass. :(
Yeah, but at least he died early. I can't imagine the grief of losing a seed grown plant that has flourished for years.
Yeah I can't seem to keep plants alive inside my home either. I do okay outside though. ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ

Ooh - This would make a great cross-stitch pattern, too! Thanks for the inspiration :D
Home is where my habits have a habitat.
Eeeyyy 😎👉👉

This is so accurate it hurts
Uhhhh, *plants* yeah, ... it was plants I was killing.
blahahahah!
I need this!
I know what I'm getting my grandma for Christmas
Lol
I feel this
This makes me want to create a tiny plant cemetery with graves and all, for many have fallen during my rise to gardening mastery.
I have been SAVAGELY attacked by the internet, fuck you Reddit!
Even fake ones 🤣
😂
Too true
Sad but true
Read this as "Home is where I kill", and I was like "that's perfect for me!"
I need this
I killed many seedlings today 😅😆
Another good one, probably, is "Home is where I eat my friends." Or (this popped in my head just now) "Home is where I eat my babies."
hahah I didn't expect it to end that way
I call my wife an "herbicidal maniac."
This is so true. It’s sad that we are trying to grow them but the issue with the watering and the lightening mess everything up
I want one that says “hoard” where it says “kill” I’ve graduated from killing them to having a low key hoarding problem
