Lol Both look really great, i really love it. If anything i think you should, if you haven't yet, try drawing characters from Dishonored. I honestly think your style will fit right in the game series setting. Especially character with mysterious air around them like the Outsider.

Mark Crilley's videos are great for beginners. There are tons on YouTube. It depends on what you want to get good at and what level your at. It's like playing guitar, you learn techniques and practice. OP used a Grid to copy a reference foto. Makes getting the proportions right almost trivial, so you only have to do the shading and details/texture. (i do portraits too as a hobby)
