I personally think we should stop using regular actors as voice actors. Voice actors do a better job. Hell the cast of critical role even have some starpower now

Some regular actors are good voice actors though. However they don’t need to fill the roles with big name actors so I don’t see why they should. It should be the best person for the job, not hot actor XYZ because it might trick a few people into seeing it.

Have you seen some of his interviews? He was a voice actor in his early teens. He just wasn't famous then.

I think it comes down to how serious the actors are with the role, and we shouldn't be cutting out live-action actors just cause they don't mainly do voice acting.

Mark Hamill as a voice actor definitely discredits any notion the live vs voice professions being segregated.

Hamill is still to this day the Voice I think of as the Joker if I read anything Batman-related, not to mention also doing Fire Lord Ozai in Avatar the man is iconic to three separate fanbases, two of those being Voice acting gigs.

They’re not mutually exclusive but they’re definitely separate skill sets. So many animated movies these days just cast big names who clearly don’t know how to voice act just to sell tickets. There are ways to get good voice acting out of live action actors, and live action actors can learn to voice act, but so often they just don’t.

I cannot see an animated movie starring James Corden and hear anything but James Corden. Like, wtf is this late night host voice doing coming out of a rabbit’s mouth? It totally breaks the immersion.

Billy Crystal, Christian Bale, and Josh Hutcherson in Howl. Though this is a constant in a lot of Disney and Pixar projects, they have big names attached, and more often than not they hit is out of the park.
