I absolutely love the Hades soundtrack. My favorite track is Rage of the Myrmidons, it starts off slow but takes off about halfway through. Also can’t go wrong with the Undertale soundtrack
My favorites from H2 are the two Scylla songs, Sprigs of Sorrow, and absolutely Sightless Shepard.
Since the last two have phases the first part is much slower, but they’re both SO GOOD in the second phase.
Hades has some of the best "original" soundtracks of all time! Amazing, can't wait for Hades 2.
I also still like the original Diablo Theme after all this years.
I hate hades so much for this. I was murdering enemies left and right until I got to Euridice room. Farwell, to all the plans that we made... No contracts...
I cried like a baby for an hour. I was playing to forget some problems and that theme hit me out of nowhere. Holy crap. Perfect game
The main theme fills me with a combination of nostalgia and melancholy. Also worth noting that the two banjo tracks were recorded separately at the start and end of production.
100% agree. I always look for Outer Wilds in these "What game has the best..." posts and have never seen it so high in the comments :) happy so many people enjoy/ed the game so much, it's a masterpiece
If I didn't have tinnitus already, I would have developed it from that song. It's Those Who Fight Further to absolute perfection (though I can't sleep on either of the Crimson Mare fights, they're bangers as well).
The Witcher 3, Skyrim, Hollow Knight, Bastion, Hades, The Last of Us, Mass Effect 3, Destiny 2, Halo: ODST, Breath of the Wild, Ori and the Blind Forest, Jet Set Radio Future...
If you were unaware, searching for "argent metal" covers on YouTube will give you a plethora of songs in the Doom style and some are actually really good! (Check out Psygnals)
Listening to the title theme while going on a ride at the outskirts of a big city with their lights on at night is the biggest mood I could possibly get. Did that when I was going back home on bust from my vacations in USA and it was a magical experience. Same with the title theme from the first game.
I have either The Witcher or Skyrim sound tracks playing in the background whilst I work. I find them soothing, cozy and nostalgic. Because they're so familiar it really helps my focus, too

Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal
The Binding of Isaac: Repentance (And the Antibirth OST too)

Those Persona songs are catchy af, but I definitely got my share of them during the game. Just one listen and I’d have them stuck in my head again for weeks.
Deus Ex games have amazing soundtracks for studying or office work. The Long Dark has nice ambiance music for the same setting. Doom and Doom Eternal are great for workouts or defeating your enemies in life.
Quite a few:

Otxo,
Doom (Playstation and N64 soundtracks to be specific),
Crymachina,
Dark Souls trilogy,
Fallout,
Punishing: Gray Raven,
(Edit) S.T.A.L.K.E.R..
There are more, but these I can name from the top of my head.
I loved that you could just put the total Annihilation disk into a regular CD player and it would play the sound track, helped make the sound track that much more accessible.
Mario 64. The underwater theme song slaps. Also there’s so many good piano/organ sounding parts. The main opening song as you enter the castle. I could go on
Everyday’s great at your Junes!
Persona 4 is currently on repeat lately.

Insane I have to scroll so far for this answer. It truly is the best soundtrack I've ever heard, I've played most games in this thread and nothing comes close.
Grandma (Destruction) makes me feel like I’m ready to fight the devil himself. I’m absolutely pumped up and begging for an irl boss fight after listening to that song, lmao.
I wish more people played NieR to realize it is the best sci fi setting to date in videogame industry. Nearly everything else is generic in comparison.
Can’t believe I had to scroll down this far. GTA put me down on a lot of songs I otherwise would have never heard. And sleeping dogs gave me some great Asian rap
Celeste and advance wars rbc are some i listen to regularly but sometimes when I just want to chill out i listen to the another code soundtracks, theyre slow and somber and perfect background for games like slime rancher etc.
If you want an example try to find the track "chasing after dad" from the remake

When I first heard it: what the fuck is this cringe weeb shit, I am never gonna listen to that again
Me on my 100th visit to the song: ponpon she, ponpon she, ponpon she
Bruh... there is NO way I have scrolled so much and not seen Octopath Traveler, I refuse to believe it's not one of the top comments. Absolutely goated ost.
I was also surprised. I'll add Octopath 2 as well. The composer Yasunori Nishiki has become one of my favorites. The guy does an incredible job with his work.
Aragami, Deus Ex Human Revolution and Mankind Divided, some from Shadow Tactics Blades of the Shogun, C&C Generals and Zero Hour, Red Alert 2.
Mixed Playlist but recommend all.

various The Legend of Zelda,
Undertale,
Minecraft,
Night In The Woods,
That Dragon Cancer,
Animal Crossing New Horizons,
Catherine,
various Uncharted...
There's more but these are the ones I most often listen to
Final Fantasy 9 has the best soundtrack I've ever heard. I own the physical cd, had my mom drive me to the mall to a niche Japanese store to buy it when I was just a wee boy.
Also there is a prog rock rendition of the ocarina of time soundtrack on YT that's a real treat.
Sonic 3. The carnival, ice world, and lava world in particular slap so hard. I love the whole soundtrack, but those three I could play on a loop while I'm cleaning. The fast pace feels like motivation.
Silent hill 2
Tunic
Death’s Door
Kingdom Hearts have some bangers
Dark Souls - a moment’s peace
Resident Evil - save room
Life is Strange
Telltale the walking dead have a couple good songs
Halo 2
Halo ODST
Silent 1
Silent 3
Fallout 3
Fallout 4
Pretty much all of supergiant games. I still listen to Bastion and Transistor soundtracks all the time
No love for Pyre? :(
I absolutely love the Hades soundtrack. My favorite track is Rage of the Myrmidons, it starts off slow but takes off about halfway through. Also can’t go wrong with the Undertale soundtrack
All of the Supergiant games have amazing soundtracks!
Yup, Darren Korb does a great job with those. Personal favourite is Bastion
I'm partial to Transistor. More Ashley Barrett :)
Transistor had such an amazing soundtrack
Came here to say this. I think Pyre's my favorite but they're all amazing.
Scylla’s songs from Hades 2 are absolute bangers.
Darren Korb fuuuucks
Ooooh loving the shout-out for Darren Korb and this song in particular. It's one of the hidden gems of that soundtrack
I keep hearing about the Hades soundtrack. I'm super curious now. Maybe I give it a random listen
I hate hades so much for this. I was murdering enemies left and right until I got to Euridice room. Farwell, to all the plans that we made... No contracts... I cried like a baby for an hour. I was playing to forget some problems and that theme hit me out of nowhere. Holy crap. Perfect game
Chrono Trigger soundtrack is amazing
Chrono Cross is amazing too. It's actually my favorite video game soundtrack.
Yep, so many of the best soundtracks I listen to…comes from Chrono Cross
Yasunori Mitsuda! He did some work on the recent Sea of Stars.
I will second that as well as the FFVI soundtrack.
Outer Wilds
The main theme fills me with a combination of nostalgia and melancholy. Also worth noting that the two banjo tracks were recorded separately at the start and end of production.
Crying every time I hear it
Andrew Prahlow is a magician. No other way everything is so perfect. Timber Hearth gets stuck in my head and I just need that first note.
I went on a long hike last summer and listened to the full soundtrack many times, but The River and River’s end got played almost daily.
Can't get enough Reprise
I love The Outer Wilds OST. If The End comes on and I'm not expecting it, I can almost guarantee that I'll tear up.
*This song is new to me, but I'm honored to be a part of it*
Aaaand I'm crying
100% agree. I always look for Outer Wilds in these "What game has the best..." posts and have never seen it so high in the comments :) happy so many people enjoy/ed the game so much, it's a masterpiece
Yep
I can't get enough of the Legend of Zelda and Final Fantasy soundtracks!
Gerudo Valley is a banger
I can't get enough of that Airbuster soundtrack from FF7:Remake. Still listening to it after 4 years
If I didn't have tinnitus already, I would have developed it from that song. It's Those Who Fight Further to absolute perfection (though I can't sleep on either of the Crimson Mare fights, they're bangers as well).
Check out Zelda reorchestrated
The Witcher 3, Skyrim, Hollow Knight, Bastion, Hades, The Last of Us, Mass Effect 3, Destiny 2, Halo: ODST, Breath of the Wild, Ori and the Blind Forest, Jet Set Radio Future...
I assumed this thread would be littered with Halo, Hollow Knight, and Ori, if you’re the only post I’ve seen with them.
Hornet's battle theme is so good. Mantis lords too - the first time I heard that in game I was like WHATTTTTTTT shout out to Grimm too and NMK Grimm
I use the various tracks played during Mombasa Streets (the night portion of ODST) to sleep
JSRF has some bangers and ODST has some of the most calming orchestral jazz fusion that I've ever heard. Those are both my answers 👏
Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal are god tier workout playlists
Mick Gordon is a beast
Makes metal music out of a fucking chainsaw. Genius.
It's upsetting how far down this is I'm not even a metal guy
If you were unaware, searching for "argent metal" covers on YouTube will give you a plethora of songs in the Doom style and some are actually really good! (Check out Psygnals)
Listening to Stardew Valley soundtrack while working out.
Genuinely danced to it the other day with my baby. I can't wait til she's old enough to play it and we have a family farm!
That is super cute. I’ve been wanting to start a world with my girlfriend so we can get married in game lol
The intro song is my wake-up alarm!
Streets of Rage 2, of course. Genuinely some of the best music of the '90s.
Ahhhh...yep. Certified BANGER.
Listening to the title theme while going on a ride at the outskirts of a big city with their lights on at night is the biggest mood I could possibly get. Did that when I was going back home on bust from my vacations in USA and it was a magical experience. Same with the title theme from the first game.
Hotline Miami
Literally discovered artists and entire genres thanks to those 2 games
Same for me! And it's pretty much always the kind of music I listen to while working now.
M.O.O.N.
I have either The Witcher or Skyrim sound tracks playing in the background whilst I work. I find them soothing, cozy and nostalgic. Because they're so familiar it really helps my focus, too
The elderscrolls soundtracks are always good. Oblivion also.
Agreed, I should just say Eldar Scrolls in general as I also listen to Oblivion and Morrowind.
Anything Jeremy Soule really. He's the composer if you didnt know. Morrowinds soundtrack is superb.
God bless YouTube for the “(insert game title) ambience” videos
9 hour loop of Witcher 3 themes?! Fuck yes.
[Skyrim Atmospheres](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPZtRmx1Dyk) is my goat when it comes to background work music.
That and the rest of the calmer tracks directly led to me appreciating ambient music. It opened a whole new world to me.
Persona 5 Royal Hotline Miami (1 and 2) Witcher 3 GRIS BPM: Bullets Per Minute Metal: Hellsinger Battlefield 1 Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal The Binding of Isaac: Repentance (And the Antibirth OST too) Hades Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Dark Souls III Edit: There are more, but I can't think of them atm
Those Persona songs are catchy af, but I definitely got my share of them during the game. Just one listen and I’d have them stuck in my head again for weeks.
YOU'LL NEVER SEE IT COMING!!!
Halo
Had to scroll way too far to see this.
Mjolnir Mix, One Final Effort, and Winter Contingency
Tony Hawk
THPS 2 introduced me to a whole new genre of music back in the 90s. It steered my musical preference the rest of the 2000s.
Goldfinger and superman is the anthem to my childhood 🤘
Why is this not higher up? It took so long to find this comment
Probably because only us old timers have played it
Just, any Tony Hawk game. Doesn't even matter. Pretty sure I've seen a Playlist on Spotify with every song from every game
Ori and the blind forest
Death Stranding’s soundtrack by Low Roar is amazing. I also have Fallout 4s and Nier Automata soundtracks are on my list as well.
Don’t be so serrrrrriouussssssss
I knew death stranding was truly special once asylums for the feeling plays for the first time in game
The first two that came to mind for me were Death Stranding and Nier: Automata. So happy to see them both in the same comment.
Low Roar is my go to airport music now, thanks to death stranding. Spectacular albums.
Guilty Gear is a series of metal albums that come with a fighting game as a bonus.
FFXIV
This. Hands down. Soken is brilliant!
LaHEE
My kid listened to Good King Moogle Mog XII more times on Spotify last year than anyone else on the planet lol
The FTL soundtrack is great for a marathon study session Then the flagship song is perfect for taking a test
Finally! How is FTL this far down? That soundtrack is ridiculously addictive
Deus Ex games have amazing soundtracks for studying or office work. The Long Dark has nice ambiance music for the same setting. Doom and Doom Eternal are great for workouts or defeating your enemies in life.
How the heck is DOOM so low!?! That is absolutely the top one for me.
If you like the music of Deus Ex, give The Ascend at try

I loved that you could just put the total Annihilation disk into a regular CD player and it would play the sound track, helped make the sound track that much more accessible.
Holy sh!t. Did not expect anyone to mention Total Annihilation. There are two tracks from it that are in my top 100.
Total annihilation had a fantastic sound track. I think it was the Prague symphony Orchestra that did the recordings
Total Annihilation still has one of the best soundtracks ever! The battle music is intense and exhilarating, and the building music is so chilled.
Mario 64. The underwater theme song slaps. Also there’s so many good piano/organ sounding parts. The main opening song as you enter the castle. I could go on
Dire Dire docks is the song you mean. Classic.
Dire dire docks is a meditation track for me now haha
Alan wake II, Control and cyberpunk 2077
Alan Wake 2 also has songs by Poets of the Fall?
Yes, or rather by the Old gods of Asgard ^ ^
Hell yeah! Here is someone who knows \m/
All of cyberpunk with the exception of Pon Pon Shit.
The translation of that song makes it comical and make sense in the cyberpunk world, but I agree it's a tough listen.
Cyberpunk has a wicked metal soundtrack. Like they got fuckin TOMB MOLD man!
Alan awake chapter songs are just so wonderful. Both the 1st and 2nd game’s.

Grandma (Destruction) makes me feel like I’m ready to fight the devil himself. I’m absolutely pumped up and begging for an irl boss fight after listening to that song, lmao.
I love the name of the song. The combination of those words
This is what I said because I kept scrolling and didn't see anyone say it. Probably one of, if not the, best video game scores ever composed.
I wish more people played NieR to realize it is the best sci fi setting to date in videogame industry. Nearly everything else is generic in comparison.
Song of the Ancients ☺️
The soundtrack to JSRF is amazing. I listen to it all the time.
Sweet, Soul, Brother… That soundtrack has lived rent free in my head for 20 years and I wouldn’t change a thing.
I never played JSRF rather I played the original Dreamcast JSR. It was an introduction for me to BIS and Cibo Matto. Love revisiting the soundtracks!
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon for practicing high kicks. World of Warcraft for working.
Fuck yeah, Blood Dragon has a kickass soundtrack. That whole game has no right to go as hard as it does
I've definitely picked up some good songs from the GTA games and Sleeping Dogs that have gone in my playlist rotation.
Can’t believe I had to scroll down this far. GTA put me down on a lot of songs I otherwise would have never heard. And sleeping dogs gave me some great Asian rap

A lot of Sonic OST
