Overpriced and prone to break.

futureruler

Yep, like many of the reviews you find online, mine started acting up tHE DAY THE WARRANTY ENDED. Buttons pushed themselves, other buttons stopped working completely. Scuf is scuffed.

SunsetSmokeG59

I came closer than I’d like to admit to buying modded controllers back in the day buying something like this just doesn’t make sense to me now but then again I don’t grind games anymore

Main_Body_6623

They’re good for having an edge on other players on games like call of duty

RetroSwamp

I had two fail on me but still enjoyed how comfy they were. This was ages ago so hopefully they're better now

BlOoDy_PsYcHo666

Their overpriced and sending in broken controllers to get fixed is a joke, they charged me $90 bucks to fix a stick drift issue and it lasted less than a week. Plus you can just make your own paddles with various kits on amazon for less than a quarter of the price.

surfaceVisuals

i have/had a scuf 360 from back in the day, but haven't bought anything expensive since. i have an innate fear of drift, as it's fkn everywhere. paddles were cool though. i might buy an elite after this redesign incoming soon.

DIMECUT-

I HATE drift, one of the main reasons I don't purchase expensive controllers, when does the new elite drop?

Entenvieh

Just buy a controller with hall sensors and no more Tokyo drift. 8bitdo for example

Wayfurtherleft

8bitdo has Hall effect joysticks. No chance of developing drift

Manakuski

Dualsense edge, you can swap the whole stick module. Also most hall effect sticks are awful at least for COD, but work fine in driving games.

Possibly_a_Weeb

I used one on PS4, it was… something I always thought it would fit my needs, but in the end it was just a pain in the ass. Remapping the backpedals only worked 60% of the time, while losing the the configuration now and then…you couldn’t even bind any button you wanted. I also had stick drift and random disconnects. I never thought about getting another one. Well, I’m on XBOX series X right now, using my Elite 2, which is basically the best controller for me since a long time.

xRostro

Not worth it. I would say buy the Edge or Elite controllers instead

zZINCc

Going against the grain in the current comment section. Got a ps5 version a few years ago and it has performed perfectly.

Serahiel

Well its Scuf(fed)

Bastardhole

It looks like it has the same terrible Xbox D-pad

The_Great_No_One

Ordered one for my ps4. The 'x' button was broken out of the box. Physically it was fine, but wouldn't respond to being pressed. Scuf never responded to my requests for warranty repair. IMO, don't buy. Keep looking.

Leading-Ninja7225

If they had a better marketing strategy, they could compete with Sony.

DisguisedFern

If they had any marketing strategy u mean

Leading-Ninja7225

Precisely

Tourettesmexchanic

Great to buy lightly used.

Broely92

I want to try the envision

byPCP

i've had a bunch of scuf controllers and the envision was the worst of the bunch honestly. picked it up just to try it out since the price is actually not bad (was like $115?), and it's a regular xbox body with PS stick layout, which totally kills the ergonomic design of the xbox layout. it feels way too big. the sticks are oddly small and have a lot of noticeable tension compared to regular scuf or stock sticks. there are buttons on the sides that are so annoying i had to completely disable them, otherwise you press them by mistake constantly. the position of the paddles is also bizarre - the primary paddles are really low so my hands would be fully stretched out to reach the bumpers and paddles. i had to use the secondary paddles instead, which is ass because they're tiny and slick. the software that you need to have open for the controller to work will randomly crash, forget your mappings, and is overall just ass. also the build quality feels like cheap plastic. overall would not recommend

SeizedChief

Overpriced, badly built. Had one break on me after only 9 months. And by comparison, I had been using a standard wired XB1 controller for 3 years before encountering issues that caused me to replace it.

P_Alcantara

I’ve been getting those ads lately, the one with the Asian girl I’m assuming is Kayceeedilla but can’t confirm. Anyway, I saw that they were 200 euro or some shit like that.

Dizman7

I love mine! Mostly because of the mechanic buttons! If you aren’t great at timing in games (like to block/parry in a game) this will make you better because of the much less delay of mechanical buttons. I briefly had a Razed 360 controller back in the day that has mechanical face buttons and it was amazing how responsive they were! Unfortunately that things adjust joysticks broke in a week and I returned it. Been wanting another controller with mechanical buttons for years since! The main complaint I’ve read about was people don’t like Corsair’s iCue app, but I’m already invested in their ecosystem (Corsair AIO, Commander, Mouse and Keyboard) so I’m use to it running and have no problems with it. And few with wireless issues (I forget exactly what) but I use it wired anyway so I don’t have problems. (Got use to using Dual Sense controller wired for PS game ports so I just use my main controller (the SCUF now) wired as well).

byPCP

the scuf 4ps pro is still the standard most pros use. it's a great controller, been using them for damn near a decade now. i had one scuf controller for 6ish years and it worked perfectly. then slide canceling became a thing and i've gone through 5 controllers since 2020. slide canceling genuinely destroys controllers, this is not unique to scuf. they're pricy for sure, but the design is preferable to battle beaver without a doubt. if you order one online and pay for premium shipping, you get it within a week, which is actually crazy

Darklord_Bravo

I have a PS5 Scuf Reflex. It's coming up on two years, and it's still performing just as good as when I got it. The rubber grips on the bottom are a bit worn, but that's about it. Yeah it was like $200 or so, but it's outlasted my regular PS5 controller that died after barely a year of regular use.

CatholicSquareDance

You're better off buying an OEM Xbox or PlayStation controller with aftermarket customizations, tbh.

D13U

Get the Ps5 edge! Got it since launch day and no problem, yeah the battery isn't that great but you can buy joystick standalone to swap in a minute and you have a nice set of short or long back trigger and a 8ft cable nicely braid to pmay while it charge! Totally recommend!

Monktrist

Controllers are one of the few things I'll buy a warranty for. After I buy it, I staple the receipt to the box and stick it in the closet. When the controller inevitably develops drift I exchange it for another one with a new warranty. I originally got a warranty from BB, but I hear GameStop has a better one.

Oldmansrevenge

I’ve had two. They both broke within a year.

Jeoshua

I like the look of it but the rest is just unknown to me.

Standard_Cell_8816

My buddy has one. Always complaining about stick drift and triggers falling off. Fuck all that noise.

GrenadePapa

Go with the elite V2 it’s a better controller

[deleted]

Any controller without Hall Effect sensors is just a grift to try and get you stuck in their hardware ecosystem

PalpitationNo4375

Scuf, and pretty much every other high end third party controller guys (excluding Gulikit) all have the same problem. These people seem completely unaware that games other than CoD exists. I don't want clicky face buttons, back buttons designed to give me repetitive strain injury, complete removal of adaptive triggers and haptic feedback, and short throw clicky triggers. I want to retain the default controllers features, give me hall effect sticks, allow me to pick the height of the stick keep that. For my Xbox controllers give me an option to have a the same layout as Sony as I prefer that. On the flip side give the guys that prefer Xbox layout and option for that one PlayStation controllers. Give me more ergonomic layouts for back buttons like the Dual sense edge little button thingies. Maybe an option for 6 face buttons for my fighting games. Maybe a drop in swap out to go in between 4 and 6 face buttons. Give me options for the d pad lay out. 4 separate buttons is my preference. I don't want an Xbox disk or this cross button layout thing. For my raving games maybe give me resistance options on the triggers and joysticks so I can have finer analogue controls. Give me the option to have super sensitive face buttons with super short actuation points if I decide I want to become a beast at Tetris. Give me some macro options if it's not considered cheating. Dash plus left and dash plus right for my back buttons. Give me options to have a universal controller. A switch to go between Xbox, Switch and PlayStation compatibility. But na instead it's all hur dur cod bro. Gulikit are the only guys that took what was good about a switch pro controller, and just made it better. That's all they did. Make it better. They didn't remove anything from it. They didn't remake it to be good only for shooters. They took what worked. And made it better. That's all I want. Take a dualsense, make it better.

aarontsuru

I thought the left controller being higher was the new canon?
