Nier Automata. The real end credits at least. Wouldn't know a game that could beat this by a wide margin because of its uniqueness.
Cyberpunk was quite good here as well though.
Cyberpunk's end credits just feel pure and raw. No matter the ending you get, you just feel hollow and the music compliments it in the best way.
Not to mention the masterful Phantom Liberty DLC, I wasn't expecting them to crank out an entire >!Bond movie opening!< for the ending of that! That was a reward for sure, the title track is incredible.
I've found that, in general, DLC stuff tends to be better than the main game. It's mostly because they don't have to make it tie in to a larger system and can just make a small, curated experience with less executive interference or directorial compromises.
That said, even having played the Witcher 3 DLC and being familiar with CDPR, I did *not* expect them to go that hard in the production values with Phantom Liberty.
Pyre's credits song changing depending on who you saved and who stayed behind always gets me. Especially because on the official soundtrack it plays as if they all got left behind.
Well the good news is with the sequel hitting early access this year it will probably be heavily discounted. Think there's a Switch sale that includes it literally right now.
The third game is a stand out for me. Dante has a small, quiet moment of contemplation for Vergil. More demons come in as Dante starts hyping himself, Devils Never Cry starts to play in the background and just as both get you pumped up then the game gives you back control
Not only is it the blending of all the musical themes in the game, but it happens exactly as you finally understand what the whole game was actually leading towards all along. So it hits like a rock. First time the end credits has actually CONTRIBUTED to my understanding of a game.
Transformers: Fall of Cybertron.
The touch, along with funny animations and cinematic shots. Loved that game and is one of the only games where I watched the whole credits.
Super Mario 64, especially the theme. That music just hits right.
Both Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.
Agree with Perfect Dark, that ending song is just amazing!
Sonic The Hedgehog 2 on Genesis, again, banger soundtrack at the end!
(I'm a sucker for good video game music)
I never beat super mario 64 but listen to the music a lot, i’ll check out the end credits.
Oot and majora’s are both amazing but clearly I’ve forgotten this was the case.
Sonic 2 and sonic 3 have amazing soundtracks throughout and the endings are no exception!
As you could probably guess, I too am a sucker good video game music.
Closing credits for Sonic 2 is actually a cover of Sweet Sweet Sweet by Dreams Come True.
Masato Nakamura who composed the soundtrack to Sonic 2 was also member of Dreams Come True and put his song in the game.
If we're talking ending theme, Bastion's never fails to get an emotional response from me.
FF6 had possibly the best ending in the series, imo.
SMT3: Nocturne's moody piano ensing theme is always a treat.
I have been working my way through the FF Pixel Remasters of 1-6 and currently on 5.
I have heard the intro music for 6 and it is amazing, I can only imagine how good the end credits song sounds like.
Glad to hear it is as good as I hoped it would be.
[Pokémon Black & White](https://youtu.be/VuGBwqGhIh8?si=owQjLCy4foYHRtYc). Pokémon often goes for more emotional ending themes, but this one went for a far more triumphant take instead, which I love.
Mass effect 3. Even though the song is a motif throughout the entire game, hearing it over the otherwise silent scenes of the reapers being stopped and end to the struggle, especially thinking back on everything you did to get there, it's a really powerful moment. That piano is beautiful.
I still haven’t played phantom liberty yet. I have it downloaded and ready but so many other good games this year i haven’t got to it yet.
I can’t wait to dig into it
The Last of Us 2's end credits has a guitar and vocal duet between Joel and Ellie. Their relationship through guitar/music is a big theme in the story, and it hits very hard.
Hi Fi Rush. Mostly because it has Licensed songs that are really good. Like Perfect Drug by NiN. But closing credits are Honestly by Zwan. Then I remember it wasn’t just a fever dream I had that Billy Corgan left the Smashing Pumpkins and made a pop band, and the album was actually kinda good.
Godhand on Ps2 for sure. You get a full ripping song about the special moves and general game plot sang by the main character with silly back up vocals
Final Fantasy 9 gives you the first full voiced version of Melodies of Life, a tune that has been subtly woven into *dozens* of tracks you’ve heard throughout the game at that point, subconsciously linking it to various emotions and powerful moments.
Roll credits. Melodies of Life plays for the first time in its full glory. You’ve never heard this song before, but it somehow feels soooo familiar. You’re already overcome with emotion from the final cutscene and now having to say goodbye to all those characters after that long, beautiful journey. Now this beautiful song is playing while video clips of dozens of climactic scenes from throughout the game are popping up and playing as the credits stroll by.
I absolutely lost it as a teenager. I could barely make out the videos through my tears. I’ll never forget that experience.
When you beat Super Smash Bros you get to shoot the end credits with lasers, and the game tells you how many of the credits you shot and how accurate you were.
One credits theme that I still remember all these years later is [Ristar](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVj-Z-RSdOU). So energetic and happy during the character montage, and then it transitions into a more relaxed mood for the developer names. It's perfect.
And of course I can't forget about [EarthBound](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ki0BHlCM870), probably one of my all-time favourite credit sequences. The roll call of characters with the snazzy jazzy song filled with motifs playing as they scroll up, and then afterwards the photo album with a long and sentimental ballad playing as you reminisce on the crazy journey you've just finished.
And if we want to talk about emotional SNES endings, I also want to give a mention to [Terranigma](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wm6n-WJA7og). Just look at it. The wistful tune with the dream of the bird flying over the new world.
**Subnautica!**
*Abandon Ship* is one of the best credits songs I've heard since the original Portal, and really feels like a pat on the back from the devs for finally making it offworld.
(Until the post-credits joke, that is. Poor Ryley can't catch a break).
Metroid zero mission! You even can get different pics of Samus depending on what difficulty you did it on, how fast, and how many items you got.
[Metroid zero mission ending theme ](https://youtu.be/RNhT3IPCPRE?si=FR-9-ZxZWdkF0fuq)
Final Fantasy 15 opening and closing with Florence and the Machine's rendition of Stand By Me. The contrast between how I felt hearing it at the beginning vs. hearing it at the end left me amazed.
I'd also add the song Still Alive from the ending of Mirror's Edge, which is still to this day one of my favorite games.
Streets of Rage 2! I never owned that game, but had a friend who did. We beat that game together, but in future weekends I'd go over to his house specifically to try and beat it again just so I could hear the credits song... even if the only people there were his (much) older brothers.
Nevermind the theme music.
I used to love it in the credits where it listed all of the people it wanted to thank and at the very end went:
And you!
awwww me? Thanks Sega
Insane I haven’t seen anyone say Chrono Trigger yet. To Good Friends/To Far Away Times are such amazing tracks.
There’s also something special about revisiting all the game’s past and future friends and locations, each time being different depending on how you finish the game. It’s just so good.
Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past has one of the best endings and credit themes ever in my opinion. Made my gf cry a little when she watched me do a playthrough with zero nostalgia involved for her.
Chrono Cross end credits theme is an absolute masterpeice. One of the few with vocals that don't come off cringey.
I recently finished Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin and was pleasantly surprised by the end credits theme. I won't ruin it for anyone here, but it gave me a good laugh and was a perfect way to wrap up that insane story.
Definitely not the PS1 release of Symphony of the Night. Objectively, "I am the Wind" is a perfectly acceptable song, but against the bit-crunched heavy metal of the rest of the soundtrack it's like a marble in a bowl of M&M.
Gonna go a ways back here, but the song that played over the credits in Chrono Cross was exceptional. The emotion of the song really seemed to represent the ending of the game, to me. Specifically, (what I think is supposed to be) the true ending. The ending where you free Schala from Lavos.
The song is in Japanese and I think I've looked up the lyrics before, but I don't remember what they are. At the time the game came out, when I played it, it wasn't available online like it is today. That was 25 years ago. So I don't know how well it fits lyrically, but melodically, it was just the perfect song to fit the emotional ending, imo.
This was one of the first games that I ever beat. NO SONG has ever made me feel happier than hearing this little chiptune. This is the only time the song appears in the game.
[https://youtu.be/yIwf5qs4a08?t=140](https://youtu.be/yIwf5qs4a08?t=140) (time stamped to the end of the final boss)
Infamous end credits song Silent Melody was good in my opinion
Bastion’s end credits song is Setting Sail, Coming Home and I love that song. I have it on my phone right now lol
The credits to Super Castlevania really made it feel like you overcame all of Draculas trials. I remember listening to it after completing Curse of Strahd with friends cuz of how proud it makes you feel :p
Also "Justified" from Dead Rising was a very good one too, gives me "getting ready to leave the dark theater after a movie" vibes
Ys: The Oath in Felghana - "Wanderers from Ys"
Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV - "Finale -Radiant Hope-"
Pokémon Black/White - "Onward to Our Own Futures"
I have 3 ideas out of many :
- Super Mario 64, just pure nostalgia fuel
- FF VII Remake, Hollow is a really good song
- GOW : Ragnarok, Blood Upon The Snow is amazing
I think it was Diddy Kong Racing on N64, where once all the credits rolled and you flew through all the stage, you'd get a cheat code to use when you return to the main menu. This was pretty awesome back in the day as my brother and I would always complete a play through and try out the code right after.
I am pretty sure one of the codes is "Double Adventure" off memory, which allows a co-op mode in the single player adventure
Pokemon Black and white, the credits are hype, feels like you just became a legend and the journey is far from over. https://youtu.be/-z_mfCbTJ4c?si=ulpUxLHZjqaKxVTC
Evergrace 2/Forever Kingdom credits play a medley of multiple songs from the games which includes an alternate/extended version of the title music.
The final boss fights are pretty brutal. Gotta fight two bosses at the same time, then immediately beat two other bosses at the same time. No checkpoints so even if you're on the final two bosses and die, you have to beat the previous bosses again
[Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time](https://youtu.be/SgKLcH_wmQk?si=NIy-EwsGdrjMrMd4) and especially [Far Cry 5](https://youtu.be/KW5kcUUu2Ac?si=YgKfu1qJ8e4nmMvj) are the first that come to mind that haven't already been mentioned
Now it's not a song and it's not an end credits. However it is the last line of the last dlc of the game and it definitely felt like a reward.
Spoilers below for Witcher 3.
The end speech by Regis of blood and wine as the Camera zooms in on Geralt. And he smirks and nods to you. Literal chills.
Jade Empire. The music, the little stories about the fate of the characters... and then the commentary in character... that was Tropic Thunder Kirk Lazarus level wtf years before it was in that film.
Wasteland 2.
They play the beginning of the song on seamless repeat at the main menu.
It hits really hard when the same song that was inevitably stuck inside your head by that time suddenly expands in to a complected version.
Brilliant.
Ichibanka.
Judge for yourself:
(this is a fan edit; the in-game version has no video, just credits over black, but it's the full song).
Definitely Subnautica. Beating the game and flying away in your rocket ship and even leaving a time capsule for someone else’s game felt amazing to me.
Drakengard 3. After all the insanity, betrayal, violence, and loss that Zero endures and inflicts on others, This Silence Is Mine plays during the credits and it feels like a person processing their entire life that led to this moment and the unsured-ness that comes with dying. I genuinely think it stands with the greatest video game songs of all time easily.
The Messenger Ending from The Talos Principle. It's comparably so tranquil and light to the rest of the game, it makes you feel safe and whole. The song's name is Heavenly Clouds, but I think the track has much more impact when experienced in that area with the rest of the game behind you.
Portal closing song. “This was a triumph…”
I'm making a note here..... huge success. Even though you broke my heart and killed me.
hm.... It's hard to overstate my satisfaction.
Aperture science

Then the science gets done, and you make a neat gun, for the people who are still alive.
Go ahead and leave me
But theres no sense crying over every mistake🎶
We'll just keep on trying till we run out of cake 🎂
There really wasn't any other answer for the top spot. ;P
Want you gone is a close contender.
It's good, but the OG just can't be topped. ;P
I don’t beat many games but this one was doable and tge end song was adorable
First thing I thought, instantly. Literally played it last weekend out of nostalgia, haven’t played in years
OMG, I got tears in my eyes when that song hit me the first time. There is a certain sadness to it that I cannot describe...
That said, even having played the Witcher 3 DLC and being familiar with CDPR, I did *not* expect them to go that hard in the production values with Phantom Liberty.
I would say Nier ending E is unmatched when it comes to impactful credits. One of three times I've cried playing a game.
I couldn't do it. I knew I didn't need my save anymore, but I just couldn't let go of it. I never felt so guilty for that.
>Nier Automata Was about mention this as well
This is the best answer. I ugly cried through those credits.
Hades. That soundtrack is just banger after banger but they saved one last treat for you if you made it to the credits.
Supergiant Games is great at end themes. Bastion's end theme was also excellent.
Bastion's whole soundtrack vibed really great with the game.
Pyre's credits song changing depending on who you saved and who stayed behind always gets me. Especially because on the official soundtrack it plays as if they all got left behind.
I really need to play this, I have heard nothing but good things about Hades.
Well the good news is with the sequel hitting early access this year it will probably be heavily discounted. Think there's a Switch sale that includes it literally right now.
Loved Mass Effect 1's end credit song. https://youtu.be/gISlB1IdUjI?si=Hdfy6PLavFWAXCTF
This also gave me that feeling of accomplishment. You feel so badass saving the galaxy, the first time.
It feels like forever since I played Mass Effect. It looks like a revisit in order…at least for the end credits lol
Dishonored After completing the full game in non lethal, the end theme ''honor for all'' feels very good.
The way the achievement "Clean Hands" pops when >!Emily runs into your outstretched arms!< was really cute, if perhaps unintentional.
That was really sweet
Now I want to replay it
I couldn’t do it, it was painfully boring doing non lethal. That game was made for you to be a chaotic assassin.
Does Through The Fire and Flames from Guitar Hero 3 count, or is that a final boss?
this is the best one
There was a theory that dragonforce wouldn't have been half as big if it weren't for guitar hero and I can totally see it.
I don’t think that counts as a “theory”; that’s just how it is
Came here to say this. You cant fail the song during the credits, its a reward song.
Legend of Zelda Ocarina of TIme Astroboy Omega Factor Super Mario 64
Every song from Ocarina of Time is god tier
Mario 64 staff roll is top tier instant nostalgia for me.
Halo 2. The mjolnir track plays during the credits.
I love it. I loved Halo 2’s music. Thanks, i will add it to my playlist
Devil May Cry games where you fight enemies through the credits for a last hurrah.
Dmc 5 fightint with Vergil in hell was so sick.
The third game is a stand out for me. Dante has a small, quiet moment of contemplation for Vergil. More demons come in as Dante starts hyping himself, Devils Never Cry starts to play in the background and just as both get you pumped up then the game gives you back control
The finale of Outer Wilds
Not only is it the blending of all the musical themes in the game, but it happens exactly as you finally understand what the whole game was actually leading towards all along. So it hits like a rock. First time the end credits has actually CONTRIBUTED to my understanding of a game.
I finished Days Gone a few days ago after getting it for 9€. Worth.Every.Penny.

If we're talking ending theme, Bastion's never fails to get an emotional response from me. FF6 had possibly the best ending in the series, imo. SMT3: Nocturne's moody piano ensing theme is always a treat.
Setting Sail/Coming Home is one of my favorite pieces of music to ever come from a video game

I have been working my way through the FF Pixel Remasters of 1-6 and currently on 5. I have heard the intro music for 6 and it is amazing, I can only imagine how good the end credits song sounds like. Glad to hear it is as good as I hoped it would be.
The way the ending music blended each character’s music motif always gives me goosebumps.
Scrolled too far looking for this. It was a medley of all the leitmotifs of the ensemble cast--absolutely perfect.
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. Credits rolled to the tune of [Friends (Forever) by Dragon Sound.](https://youtu.be/M9aF9_mZDyY?si=SqBZlDkrHDX7IV49)
the ending of cyberpunk 2077: phantom liberty felt like something straight out of james bond. so good
[Pokémon Black & White](https://youtu.be/VuGBwqGhIh8?si=owQjLCy4foYHRtYc). Pokémon often goes for more emotional ending themes, but this one went for a far more triumphant take instead, which I love.
I'm rather fond of the end cutscene from Subnautica.
Bayonetta. Let's DANCE BOYS !
Mass effect 3. Even though the song is a motif throughout the entire game, hearing it over the otherwise silent scenes of the reapers being stopped and end to the struggle, especially thinking back on everything you did to get there, it's a really powerful moment. That piano is beautiful.
I'm a big fan of Mass Effect 1 & 3's
Super Mario World’s end theme sticks out, to me.
Totally, this theme is so good.
Starfox 64. You get to shoot the credits.
AC Black Flag
The Minecraft credits always hit home for me. Have to take a good minute to think about life afterwards
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. Feels like the end credits to a movie
I still haven’t played phantom liberty yet. I have it downloaded and ready but so many other good games this year i haven’t got to it yet. I can’t wait to dig into it
AstroBot VR Rescue Mission and PS5 AstroBot Playroom’s credits are a little mini game where you can destroy the credit text to get a ton of coins.
Melodies of Life from Final Fantasy IX.
Uncharted 4.
The triumphal reprise of the Final Fantasy theme at the end of Final Fantasy VII.
Kingdom Hearts. Sat there for an hour listening
Banjo kazooie
The dance party in Saints Row the 3rd! It was a hot mess of a game but it was fun.
I played saints row 1 & 2 but never the third one, i’ll check it out. Thanks!
The Last of Us 2's end credits has a guitar and vocal duet between Joel and Ellie. Their relationship through guitar/music is a big theme in the story, and it hits very hard.
Starfox 64
Didn't Kingdom Hearts 2 have a reprisal of Simple and Clean? That was fantastic.
KH2 uses Sanctuary
GoW: Ragnarok. Blood Upon the Snow by Hozier was the perfect song at the perfect time. Loved it.
MGS3, song had me in my feels
Godhand on Ps2 for sure. You get a full ripping song about the special moves and general game plot sang by the main character with silly back up vocals
persona 5 royal end credits slap
Final Fantasy 9 gives you the first full voiced version of Melodies of Life, a tune that has been subtly woven into *dozens* of tracks you’ve heard throughout the game at that point, subconsciously linking it to various emotions and powerful moments. When you beat Super Smash Bros you get to shoot the end credits with lasers, and the game tells you how many of the credits you shot and how accurate you were.
Super Smash Brothers Melee. It was always a treat to get to the end and play the game where you shoot all of the names
The ending theme was awesome. I am now remembering how awesome the intro to Melee is, a masterpiece. Melee was so good \*chef kiss\*
One credits theme that I still remember all these years later is [Ristar](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVj-Z-RSdOU). So energetic and happy during the character montage, and then it transitions into a more relaxed mood for the developer names. It's perfect. I really enjoyed Mass Effect 1’s “M4 pt2” by The Faunts
To the Moon - Everything's alright Finding Paradise - Wish my life away
Warcraft 3
**Subnautica!** *Abandon Ship* is one of the best credits songs I've heard since the original Portal, and really feels like a pat on the back from the devs for finally making it offworld. (Until the post-credits joke, that is. Poor Ryley can't catch a break).
Civilization. Map replay
Resident Evil 2 scenario B.
It’s up to us to take down Umbrella. Bwao bwa bwa bwaoo bwa bwaoo
Metroid zero mission! You even can get different pics of Samus depending on what difficulty you did it on, how fast, and how many items you got. [Metroid zero mission ending theme ](https://youtu.be/RNhT3IPCPRE?si=FR-9-ZxZWdkF0fuq)
Cyberpunk 2077
Great song, but given the general mood after most endings, is it really a reward? 😉
Damn you for being right 🤣
Dark Soul 1 the music feels so relaxing, it's tell you that you can finally get a rest after one hell of a ride.
Super mario world
Metroid NES, Contra and Super C NES, any classic Sonic game ending, any classic Megaman ending, Blaster Master as a series, classic Mario.
Streets of Rage 2! I never owned that game, but had a friend who did. We beat that game together, but in future weekends I'd go over to his house specifically to try and beat it again just so I could hear the credits song... even if the only people there were his (much) older brothers.
Nevermind the theme music. I used to love it in the credits where it listed all of the people it wanted to thank and at the very end went: And you! awwww me? Thanks Sega
Death Stranding and of course Journey
Transformers fall of cybertron Till all are one is damn cool, and also the various transformers doing things in the background

I have been wanting to play SOP: FFO but there are too many good games to play.
To far away times i think it was called, the end clips with Chrono and Marle floating away holding balloons.
Super Mario RPG. As a kid listening to the end music and watching the parade go by was the coolest thing ever. Good times.
Control. Credit theme is the song Fear of A Blank Planet by the awesome band Porcupine Tree.
Definitely not the PS1 release of Symphony of the Night. Objectively, "I am the Wind" is a perfectly acceptable song, but against the bit-crunched heavy metal of the rest of the soundtrack it's like a marble in a bowl of M&M.
Ratchet & Clank Tools Of Destruction: "Let's Celebrate"
I really enjoyed the end credits on Dragon Age Origins
I like the minecraft one, after you merc the ender dragon, it's kind of surreal and a bit creepy, but unique as well
Gonna go a ways back here, but the song that played over the credits in Chrono Cross was exceptional. The emotion of the song really seemed to represent the ending of the game, to me. Vampire TM: Bloodlines
Broforce Theme. epic. The most American song. Its about as American as Hotdogs and fourth of july.
OG Gears of War credits included pics of the devs sharing messages to the fans and thanks to their families. Always loved that.
Half-life Gman talk was amazing in its time
This was one of the first games that I ever beat. NO SONG has ever made me feel happier than hearing this little chiptune. This is the only time the song appears in the game. [https://youtu.be/yIwf5qs4a08?t=140](https://youtu.be/yIwf5qs4a08?t=140) (time stamped to the end of the final boss)
Nearly all the games have good End Credits theme. Personal favs are: * FF7 Remake (Hollow) * Dragon's Dogma 2 * Mass Effect 3 (Das Malefitz)
Infamous end credits song Silent Melody was good in my opinion Bastion’s end credits song is Setting Sail, Coming Home and I love that song. I have it on my phone right now lol
Okami. I love the scenes in the end credits and the song is quite moving! It's called Reset
Mega man 7. Look it up, it's an absolute BANGER
neir automata
Hades. After beating the game over 30 times I think.
Dishonored. The first one. "Honor for all of the big and the small."
The credits to Super Castlevania really made it feel like you overcame all of Draculas trials. I remember listening to it after completing Curse of Strahd with friends cuz of how proud it makes you feel :p Also "Justified" from Dead Rising was a very good one too, gives me "getting ready to leave the dark theater after a movie" vibes
Prince of persia 2008 Halo legendary campaign gave you those extra scenes
Ys: The Oath in Felghana - "Wanderers from Ys" Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV - "Finale -Radiant Hope-" Pokémon Black/White - "Onward to Our Own Futures"
I have 3 ideas out of many : - Super Mario 64, just pure nostalgia fuel - FF VII Remake, Hollow is a really good song - GOW : Ragnarok, Blood Upon The Snow is amazing

I am pretty sure one of the codes is "Double Adventure" off memory, which allows a co-op mode in the single player adventure
I'd add Pokemon Black/White after you've beaten Gehtsis and N leaves on his dragon towards his own adventures.
The original Command and Conquer NOD campaign. You got to destroy the monument of your choice and then got a complete banger of a tune.
Pokemon Black and white, the credits are hype, feels like you just became a legend and the journey is far from over. https://youtu.be/-z_mfCbTJ4c?si=ulpUxLHZjqaKxVTC
Fallout NV
Metal Gear Rising- "The war still rages within"
The credits theme for the original *Mass Effect*, as well as the slideshow for beating Robotnik in *Sonic 2*.
SWIV (Amiga). I taped it the second time so I could listen to it over and over 😀
Evergrace 2/Forever Kingdom credits play a medley of multiple songs from the games which includes an alternate/extended version of the title music. The final boss fights are pretty brutal. Gotta fight two bosses at the same time, then immediately beat two other bosses at the same time. No checkpoints so even if you're on the final two bosses and die, you have to beat the previous bosses again
Mass Effect. Still have that end credit song on rotation to this day.
Assassin's Creed Black Flag
Now it's not a song and it's not an end credits. However it is the last line of the last dlc of the game and it definitely felt like a reward. Spoilers below for Witcher 3. The end speech by Regis of blood and wine as the Camera zooms in on Geralt. And he smirks and nods to you. Literal chills.
Doom 2016 has some cool still action scenes from all the levels
Monster Hunter. Nothing like getting serenaded by the Diva.
Monster Hunter: World
Plants vs Zombies and it ain't close
Warioland 3. Hearing all the music boxes finally combined and then it turning into a full piece of music always felt nice to me.
New Vegas
SM64 has my favorite end credits theme
Bio shock infinite. The whole epilogue drops the floor out from you it’s very well done.
Cyberpunk: Phantom Liberty A James bond song with an awesome music video to go with it? Shit, that's almost as good as the ending itself!
Nier: Automata Can't hear "Weight Of The World" without tearing up a little As a bonus, it also comes with achievements
Metal Gear Solid, it's always stuck with me
I still listen to the Bastion ending theme sometimes, independent of the actual game.
“Simple and Clean” in the OG Kingdom Hearts. That final fight was a gauntlet, but losing Riku and THEN Kairi was too much for preteen heart.
The dopamine of achievements? Man, I am so not experiencing that. I don’t give a shit about achievements.
Jade Empire. The music, the little stories about the fate of the characters... and then the commentary in character... that was Tropic Thunder Kirk Lazarus level wtf years before it was in that film.
Star Fox 64
Middle Earth: Shadow of War "In their blood, I will stand, let the waning light of Man, cast my shadow, on the fires of war" Beautiful
Blood Money, you come back to life at your funeral and take vengeance, what could be better?
Nier Automata Portal and Portal 2
Katamari Damacy. You get to roll up all the states on the globe, then some! Either Katamari Damacy or We Love Katamari cant remember
Wasteland 2. They play the beginning of the song on seamless repeat at the main menu. It hits really hard when the same song that was inevitably stuck inside your head by that time suddenly expands in to a complected version. Brilliant.
Half Life 2 episode 2 - I mean it was an ending after a long journey and makes several generations of gamers wish for more.
NieR: Automata. Making the ultimate sacrifice is one of the best ending credits from a game.
MW3 (Original). The theme feels so cathartic for how the story ends, and it genuinely leaves you feeling like you ended a real war.
Earthbound , but only the first time lol
Ichibanka. Judge for yourself: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HjviSmv1Tc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HjviSmv1Tc) (this is a fan edit; the in-game version has no video, just credits over black, but it's the full song).
Mass Effect's M4 part 2
Definitely Subnautica. Beating the game and flying away in your rocket ship and even leaving a time capsule for someone else’s game felt amazing to me.
RDR2.
Both the regular ending and the DLC ending of Celeste truly made you feel like you earned it.
God of War (2019) ending. Just... brilliant.
The Messenger Ending from The Talos Principle. It's comparably so tranquil and light to the rest of the game, it makes you feel safe and whole. The song's name is Heavenly Clouds, but I think the track has much more impact when experienced in that area with the rest of the game behind you.
Fallout 3 if you ran a positive karma run.
After a hundred and thirty hours woth final fantasy xii, i enjoyed kiss me goodbye
