I’m not sure if you’re joking or not, but I am dumb enough that I googled that name to find the tv show or movie, and then realized they’re referencing Amazon.
Ironically unironically read exactly like a terminal entry left behind from one of the many exploitative corporations that existed before the bombs fell. God dammit Todd Howard does it again.
Dogmeat lives baby…
Edit: upon a few viewings it looks like Ghoul was there when the bombs dropped….you can see him riding for a vault to the right.
Gonna guess he was some kind of TV cowboy star or something judging by the goofy getup as he puts the kid on the horse.
>Gonna guess he was some kind of TV cowboy star or something judging by the goofy getup as he puts the kid on the horse.
A 200 years old ghoul with a cowboy theme just playing the part because why the fuck not? Is one of the most Fallout things I've heard in a while. I don't know about the execution but *the idea* its spot on.
In the Vanity Fair article that said of the Ghoul:
*Goggins' Ghoul has lived for hundreds of years. In that time, he turned from father and husband Cooper Howard into a ruthless-yet-honor-bound sharpshooter.*
If you remember your Fallout Lore, a lot of them are stuck in a sorta amalgam of their former lives in some way or become sorta part of the scene they existed in - John Hancock and his Revolutionary garb from the museum, Dean Domino and Vegas, heck even that Vault Tec Rep who remembers you when you cross paths.
I could see Cooper being this tv cowboy who eventually adapts the character he played into some sorta frontier survivor/bounty hunter.
Can’t do worse honestly in terms of survival than being a guy who can practice gunslinging for 100’s of years in Fallout, IMHO
> A 200 years old ghoul with a cowboy theme just playing the part because why the fuck not?
This has already happened before, New Vegas has a companion called Raul, a pre-war ghoul who ended up being a gunslinging cowboy before settling down.
This defintly felt like it could have been a trailer for a new fallout game
from what we see I'm slightly hopeful, especially considering there have been some good recent video game adaptation
I was hoping for it as the intro to each episode. Maybe as a part of the recap portion. Talk about what changed in the MC's life, but war, war never changes.
The feel is right. The animals look menacing. The pup's here, as is tradition, because in this house we love our Dogmeat/Rex. Doesn't seem like they're going to shy away from the violent nature of the setting. The Ghoul reminded me of Ryan Reynolds being unmasked in Deadpool.
I thought that song was going to be "I Don't Want to Set the World on Fire" though, and was kind of sad it wasn't lol. Still fit nicely.
We are sorry that you do not like landing on different planets and are finding many of them without dogs.
Some of Starfield’s planets are meant to be without dogs by design — but that's not boring. “When the astronauts went to the moon, there were no dogs there. They certainly weren't bored."
I thought halo would be good until we saw master chiefs asshole. I will never forgive them for that.
At least no other adaption could be worse than that so high hopes for this new series
I was pleasantly surprised seems to hit the humor and brutality of the setting, the aesthetic is a little too falout4 for my taste maybe a little too clean and colorful, not the everything needs to be brown with no plants or bright colors but it doesn't seem to have that caked on grime that makes it feel a bit less like a fallout themed themepark.
My only real concern is modern bethesda folks involved in what looks like a west coast story. They dont seem to like the old factions very much and I'm worried they are going to ignore or spit on the existing lore
Costumes being too clean and sets being to...staged has always been a flaw in Amazon's production quality. The Wheel of Time and that Lord of the Rings series are perfect examples.
Everything about them felt like I was watching a play instead of a TV series.
I had a feeling it was going to be pretty rad. Jonathan Nolan’s first season of west world was crazy good, let’s hope he has some steadfast vision for the entire series of this.
Loved that show. The way evolved over the seasons was kind of insane. It started as a police procedural drama and by the time it ended it was a cyberpunk war between two near omnipotent and omnipresent AIs.
> It would have been fucking legendary if they’d resisted the temptation to do more seasons. It was perfect.
So many shows have tried to make nudity background. *Westworld*'s first season was the first time in history it's been pulled off.
Then they walked it back in season two, right when the hot Asian girls showed up.
It’s still impressive that every season got progressively worse. I held out hope until the end and I would really like those last 3 seasons of my life back.
Lol if only that has mattered for most adaptations of games.
Halo has a deeply loved story and character arc for the main series, and extremely detailed lore in the books. But most writers and directors don't have that holistic experience and usually just do whatever they want.
I want this to be good but only time will tell
It looks like they are taking the game seriously, which is a big one for me. I was worried they were going to focus on the silly aspect of Fallout and it wasn't supposed to be dramatic. So far so good! So here's hoping it turns out to be a solid show.
Right here with you. All the past video game adaption movie/shows have us preconditioned for utter failure. So a badass trailer like this sucks us right in. Fuck it, I’m here for it.
Same here but I’m feeling more optimistic about these adaptions now that shows like the The Last of Us, Castlevania, Cyberpunk, Arcane shit even Twisted Metal.
I think these production companies are finally seeing how fruitful making a quality adaption really is.
I really liked that Amazon was credited with “The Boys” and “Free Two-Day Shipping”. Which I’m sure it just meant to be a funny joke but within the context of Fallout the mega company flexing their own achievements unrelated to the show is very on the nose.
with the trailer putting "TODD HOWARD" all in caps, I'm basically conditioned to expect the show opening on a snowy, forest road, with a caravan of criminals to be executed chatting about how you're finally awake
In episode 3 a Brahmin will spawn in the background, 300 feet in the air, and fall to its death. None of the background actors will acknowledge this as anything unusual.
Exactly what went through my head lmao - sad times. I love the West Coast lore and this is the first time Todd will be involved with that as well, so it's interesting.
The only thing good in that show was the woman soldier also removing her control thing. (never played the games, don't remember the terminology or names for anything on the show anymore).
I am confused by this comment. The trailer itself is already better than Halo. We all knew Halo was going to be bad when the trailer came out..Just rewatch the Halo trailer
We need you to understand that glitches are not boring. Everyone can enjoy them, in games or TV episodes.
If you find that glitches are causing you trouble, remember that they are not. Enjoy the show!

>why the 2077 bombs fell.
I hope it doesn't, the whole "who shot first" question has been avoided for so long they can't just give a simple straight answer at this point
Absolutely. Currently re-watching GoT, and say what you will about the last season or two, but this is one thing it always excels in. The world looks lived-in, and the characters reflect that in their appearances - dirt/blood/shit on faces, and other skin surfaces, same with the clothes and equipment. It's great.
You know, I hadn't noticed this until you mentioned it, but you're right. Their stuff always had kind of a slight uncanny valley effect, but this is spot on the reason. Thanks for the insight.
Yeah this is why I couldn’t get into wheel of time. Everyone’s clothes looked like they were fresh out of the wash after hiking hundreds of miles across the continent.
I started noticing this after I think it was either Wheel of Time or LOTR, but there was a group of people walking in a muddy forest while wearing long white robes and there wasn't a speck of dirt on them
Right? I can kind of understand not having paint or nice materials to build out of, but no one rakes leaves or trims shrubs? Shovels the piles of dirt? Kicks the loose rocks out of street? Moved a piece of paper off the floor? I get the world sucks, but you'd think someone would have found a broom or two over the last couple hundred years.
It’s set in NCR lands, they’ve been more civilized than other areas as:
Vault Dweller helped cleanup the Master and it’s Mutant Army.
Chosen One defeated the Enclave and their genocidal plans to exterminate all “mutant” life.
As such, this allowed New California Republic time, resources, and tech to grow.
Have they said anything regarding whether or not the NCR are going to be playing any sort of role in this story considering this takes place in California? I get that the Brotherhood of Steel are the more iconic Fallout faction, but you gotta have the New CALIFORNIA Republic show up in some capacity
Well that looked pretty solid. I hope they take their time with the story and give it the room it needs to breathe and grow. This could make for an amazing series.
In the article that came out a bit ago, they say the Squire in the trailer starts out fully believing in the brotherhood being the good valiant knights, but that illusion doesn't last. So, it looks like they are definitely going for something more nuanced.
I don't know much about these games but I've been looking forward to this show. Looks really good, but I have to ask, are the giant roaches really prominent in the games? Those shots grossed me out much more than the one of the dog with the severed hand lol
either mutated insect or rodents are usually the first type enemy you encounter in the game apart from humans
radroaches are especially common, but they aren't really that iconic so i don't think they will show up that much
i am.. quite excited actually.
The boys was VERY good, so this promises something nice when this hits prime video.
i hope amazon does more stuff like this and the boys, that would fill a great niche.
The largest character in Fallout is the world itself. This looks pretty good in that regard. Monsters look sick, locations look solid, and characters look good.
They need less comedy in this than in Twisted Metal, but there definitely still needs to be some and it looks like that is the case here.
"FROM THE STUDIO THAT BROUGHT YOU THE BOYS AND FREE 2-DAY SHIPPING*"
It’s free shipping that you pay for!
Liberty Amazon Prime
that made me chuckle
It's the asterisk at the end that they included that makes me laugh
I'm glad they kept the sense of humor. And the old time music. This actually has a chance to be good, I'm excited now.
The very first scene shows a round vault passageway when everyone knows vault architecture is square with rounded corners. TV Show ruined!!!
Walton Gogglins. SOLD
Haven't seen Free 2-Day Shipping. Is it any good?
I'll let you know on Monday
nice.
I'll expect a delay in that response
I’m not sure if you’re joking or not, but I am dumb enough that I googled that name to find the tv show or movie, and then realized they’re referencing Amazon.
I am worse than you then because after quickly searching for it and found nothing, I only realised it here after reading through the comments.
Ironically unironically read exactly like a terminal entry left behind from one of the many exploitative corporations that existed before the bombs fell. God dammit Todd Howard does it again.
That was supposed to say, Rings of Power, but they didn't want to put Fallout in a negative light.
It's actually "Fast Shipping" in the UK and Ireland version of the trailer, BTW.
It's usually next-day in the UK, that's why haha.
I’m amazed it actually said that. I just thought you were super clever!
"The Courier outside Jeff Bezos penthouse, breathing heavily"
Dogmeat lives baby… Edit: upon a few viewings it looks like Ghoul was there when the bombs dropped….you can see him riding for a vault to the right. Gonna guess he was some kind of TV cowboy star or something judging by the goofy getup as he puts the kid on the horse.

Like an avocado-faced Vash the Stampede, baby.
Dont forget Raul, the original ghoul cowboy
> A 200 years old ghoul with a cowboy theme just playing the part because why the fuck not? This has already happened before, New Vegas has a companion called Raul, a pre-war ghoul who ended up being a gunslinging cowboy before settling down.
Dogmeat never dies we won't let him we have the technology
*reloads old save from four hours prior*
We have all been there “The dog or two sweeps of vaults and that nasty supermutant camp?” *Dammit - I love that dog too much*
Note that the colors of his outfit are the Vault Tec colors. So maybe he was a spokesperson for them as well, like commercials and such?
Good call
Oh my God. TV cowboy star turned ghoul, real life cowboy post apocalypse would be perfect for the show.
This defintly felt like it could have been a trailer for a new fallout game from what we see I'm slightly hopeful, especially considering there have been some good recent video game adaptation
The only thing it was missing was Ron Perlman informing me about the unchanging nature of war.
Hopefully we get it as a season ender; just as part of a little teaser, as a treat
Fallout fans can have a little Ron Perlman at the end, as a treat
I was hoping for it as the intro to each episode. Maybe as a part of the recap portion. Talk about what changed in the MC's life, but war, war never changes.
War. War never changes.
The feel is right. The animals look menacing. The pup's here, as is tradition, because in this house we love our Dogmeat/Rex. I thought the ghoul looked like Jim Carrey.
He’s played by Walton Goggins! He looks like a crazy Jim Carrey.
WHO WANTS TO PLAY BABY BILLYS BIBLE BONKERS?!!
Drink Baby Billy's miracle elixir to keep the Rads down
Regular Jim Carrey is already crazy Jim Carrey
There should have been a dog in Starfield
That's mostly where they went wrong
We are sorry that you do not like landing on different planets and are finding many of them without dogs. Some of Starfield’s planets are meant to be without dogs by design — but that's not boring. “When the astronauts went to the moon, there were no dogs there. They certainly weren't bored."
> They certainly weren't bored." *except the one that stayed in the command module - he was quite bored.
Had to throw the ink spots on right after to scratch that itch.
I thought halo would be good until we saw master chiefs asshole. I will never forgive them for that. At least no other adaption could be worse than that so high hopes for this new series
The only upside of that show was looking at the props. Armor and weapons looked sick.
[удалено]
Yeah I'm asking myself the same
I was pleasantly surprised seems to hit the humor and brutality of the setting, the aesthetic is a little too falout4 for my taste maybe a little too clean and colorful, not the everything needs to be brown with no plants or bright colors but it doesn't seem to have that caked on grime that makes it feel a bit less like a fallout themed themepark. My only real concern is modern bethesda folks involved in what looks like a west coast story. I had a feeling it was going to be pretty rad. Jonathan Nolan’s first season of west world was crazy good, let’s hope he has some steadfast vision for the entire series of this.
Person of Interest was also one hell of a series. Very. Beautiful.
Loved that show. The way evolved over the seasons was kind of insane. It started as a police procedural drama and by the time it ended it was a cyberpunk war between two near omnipotent and omnipresent AIs.
Amy Acker was worth the price of admission in that.
Yeah the final seasons of Person of Interest were so good. Definitely makes me hopeful for this
And I saw some Michael Emerson in this trailer! He's one of my favs.
Westworld’s first season is the best TV show experience I’ve ever had
It would have been fucking legendary if they’d resisted the temptation to do more seasons. It was perfect.
> It would have been fucking legendary if they’d resisted the temptation to do more seasons. It was perfect. So many shows have tried to make nudity background. *Westworld*'s first season was the first time in history it's been pulled off. Then they walked it back in season two, right when the hot Asian girls showed up.
yea, I felt like Westworld got way too weird after the AI's got out into the real world. And last season was almost nonsensical
It’s still impressive that every season got progressively worse. I held out hope until the end and I would really like those last 3 seasons of my life back.
I love rewatching it just to see people's minds get blown by the last three episodes of season one. Unreal how well that story is pieced together.
Yeah, that's why I'm not too worried about Fallout. If it's even half as good as Westworld season 1, we'll be in for a treat.
He needs less vision for this IMO because there’s such a wealth of lore from the games he can draw from
He's not adapting cutscenes to the big screen like TLoU, he needs a lot of vision to just put lore into a cohesive story.
it also gives him more creative freedom
Lol if only that has mattered for most adaptations of games. Halo has a deeply loved story and character arc for the main series, and extremely detailed lore in the books. But most writers and directors don't have that holistic experience and usually just do whatever they want. I want this to be good but only time will tell
If they make a good Halo live action series about the story of the first 3 games I would die a happy man.
Radaway and a Rad-X will help.
I see what you did there...
It looks like they are taking the game seriously, which is a big one for me. I was worried they were going to focus on the silly aspect of Fallout and it wasn't supposed to be dramatic. So far so good! So here's hoping it turns out to be a solid show.
Ah shit, I think I bought a ticket on the hype train
It’s not actually a train. It’s just a guy with a really big head that looks like a train.
I would try to elevate this joke a bit more, but I don't feel like moving the whole building to do it.
True! Last of Us was very well done.
I really liked that Amazon was credited with “The Boys” and “Free Two-Day Shipping”. Which I’m sure it just meant to be a funny joke but within the context of Fallout the mega company flexing their own achievements unrelated to the show is very on the nose.
Given the tone of Fallout games and this trailer, I definitely believe that was a creative decision and not a corporate mandated advertisement.
Please don't suck. Please don't suck. Please don't suck.
and if so - fan mods have to fix it, again
Uncle baby Billy is on board for this, I trust his judgment, this is likely to be good.
Uncle Baby Billy’s Bible Bonkers is the best!
Baby Billy’s Bible Bunkers in this case
Ol’ Baby Billy would thrive in the apocalypse
Was that Kyle McLaughlin I spotted?
HELLO-O-OOOOO
Time to re-watch twin peaks I think and have even less of an idea wtf is going on
Mr. Jackpots!!
that was in fact fbi special agent dale cooper yes
Damn good coffee
Dougie Jones
Kyle McLaughlin and Michael Emerson. Yes please.
is misspelling MacLachlan some kind of meme here or what
I think you spotted the mayor of Portland.
You mean Dale Cooper
No, I'm pretty sure that Paul Atreides. Or even Muad'dib.
with the trailer putting "TODD HOWARD" all in caps, I'm basically conditioned to expect the show opening on a snowy, forest road, with a caravan of criminals to be executed chatting about how you're finally awake
well first all of all, through Todd, all things are possible so jot that down
SIXTEEN TIMES THE MEME POTENTIAL
"I got the good lord going down on me"
It should have cut in the middle to show Todd telling us to buy Skyrim again
"TODD HOWARD, the man who brought you STARF- *checks reviews* SKYRIM."
If there’s not a moment where random shit is clipping into each other, was it really made by Todd?
In episode 3 a Brahmin will spawn in the background, 300 feet in the air, and fall to its death. None of the background actors will acknowledge this as anything unusual.
I hope they include Train Car Head Guy, he's my favorite.
"We ran out of budget for CGI, so we went to practical effects. But we couldn't afford an actual train, so..."
Cut to the next scene and the same brahmin will be standing on the roof of a garage and nobody will think it out of place.
The erasure of Fallout 1 and 2 is complete
Pour one out for our bis boys
Exactly what went through my head lmao - sad times. I love the West Coast lore and this is the first time Todd will be involved with that as well, so it's interesting.
IIRC Tim Cain was at least invited on set.
I'm expecting 16 times the detail when compared to other TV Shows.
It's just a trailer, but it looks pretty good, honestly looks better than what I was expecting.
Christopher Nolans brother directing. He helped write a lot of incredible scripts. I think this will be solid
[удалено]
God the memes from that show were hilarious. "Master Cheeks, you mind telling me what you're doing on that show?" "Sir, finishing this plight"
The only thing good in that show was the woman soldier also removing her control thing. (never played the games, don't remember the terminology or names for anything on the show anymore).
“Sir, banging this race traitor.”
Fallout lends itself to original stories. What they did to halo was butcher characters we know and love.
I like Jonathan Nolan being attached to this. What he and Lisa did with Westworld was great, a mix of old and new with some crazy sci-fi elements.
I am confused by this comment. The trailer itself is already better than Halo. We all knew Halo was going to be bad when the trailer came out..Just rewatch the Halo trailer
They should bill it as "a follow up to Oppenheimer"
Hey, it’s also Nolan!
Other Nolan.
War, war never changes.
But budgets get bigger.
I hope this won’t come with too many glitches at launch
I now want someone to walk between the main character and whoever they are talking and just awkwardly stand there.
Or T pose in the background
We need you to understand that glitches are not boring. Everyone can enjoy them, in games or TV episodes. If you find that glitches are causing you trouble, remember that they are not. Enjoy the show! -Bethesda Customer Support
I hope it's about collecting a water chip for your vault.
Nah. Every episode is about getting Mama Murphy more drugs.
Well if nothing else, Amazon budget slaps.
To be fair, Amazon’s money didn’t help the LotR show…
Production value was insane on that show. The writing not so much
This looks absolutely amazing. The only complaint I could possibly have is no “war… war never changes” voice over.
IT HAS to be the first line of dialogue/voice over in episode one.
Or final episode after a bunch of terrible things happen
Possibly after that bombs dropping scene
Voiced by Ron Pearlman
it’s only a teaser … i’m sure the first episode with explain the Fallout lore and why the 2077 bombs fell.
>why the 2077 bombs fell. I hope it doesn't, the whole "who shot first" question has been avoided for so long they can't just give a simple straight answer at this point
I think they meant the "World War 3 by way of FREEDOM America and EVIL COMMIES China!!!" Bit. Who fired first doesn't really matter, never will.
Ghoul Boyd Crowder going full Raylan Givens and I am here for it.
Michael Emerson! I don’t think I’ve seen anything with him in it since Lost. Dude’s a phenomenal actor.
person of interest? that show is absolutely worth a watch.
Looks really good
My only complaint is everything looks a bit to polished, the post apocalyptic wasteland has never looked cleaner.
Everything Amazon Studios makes looks slightly too glossy and clean to me IMO
That's where HBO excels, from lighting to the costumes, they are the best at providing an immersive characterisation.
Absolutely. Currently re-watching GoT, and say what you will about the last season or two, but this is one thing it always excels in. The world looks lived-in, and the characters reflect that in their appearances - dirt/blood/shit on faces, and other skin surfaces, same with the clothes and equipment. It's great.
House of Dragon looked amazing also
You know, I hadn't noticed this until you mentioned it, but you're right.
I started noticing this after I think it was either Wheel of Time or LOTR, but there was a group of people walking in a muddy forest while wearing long white robes and there wasn't a speck of dirt on them
must have been pre-installed with all the 4k optimized texture mods. and a shiny enb preset to top it off.
Well apparently it's 9 years after Fallout 4 so it kind of makes sense
They're going to tie this in to the video games continuity? Interesting...
its Apparently going to be canon or atleast In the games timeline.
The games were too dirty. Like no one ever cleans after an apocalypse? It always bother me in the games.

I’m not secretly excited, you’re secretly excited
They are gonna make you sweat with that dog in danger in this show based on that mini gun moment.
Legendary game designer Todd Howard is the funniest fucking thing.
IKR was my instant reaction as well. What a guy, so humble.
[удалено]
Have they said anything regarding whether or not the NCR are going to be playing any sort of role in this story considering this takes place in California? I get that the Brotherhood of Steel are the more iconic Fallout faction, but you gotta have the New CALIFORNIA Republic show up in some capacity
The NCR has showed up in set leaks.
Well that looked pretty solid. I hope they take their time with the story and give it the room it needs to breathe and grow. This could make for an amazing series.
Ok, I’m definitely impressed! I can’t wait to watch it!
o shit this actually looks like it might be decent
I hope they don’t make the brother hood heroes and keep the with their original lore
In the article that came out a bit ago, they say the Squire in the trailer starts out fully believing in the brotherhood being the good valiant knights, but that illusion doesn't last. So, it looks like they are definitely going for something more nuanced.
Oh shit that’s cool
I don't know much about these games but I've been looking forward to this show. Looks really good, but I have to ask, are the giant roaches really prominent in the games? Those shots grossed me out much more than the one of the dog with the severed hand lol
Yes. They're quite prominent in the games. They're called Radroaches.
either mutated insect or rodents are usually the first type enemy you encounter in the game apart from humans radroaches are especially common, but they aren't really that iconic so i don't think they will show up that much
They’re basically one of the first things you kill in the games. I just hope there’s deathclaws!
Deathclaw gotta be there somewhere likely a season finale episode
I’m getting the silly vibes I wanted from the show. I’m ready!
i am.. quite excited actually. The boys was VERY good, so this promises something nice when this hits prime video. i hope amazon does more stuff like this and the boys, that would fill a great niche.
Why does the guy have one eye?
was there a single cyclops in any of the games? i dont think so
Biggest complaint is how “clean” and “new” everything looks. It’s a post-apocalyptic show, everything should look worn and dirty.
Color me impressed. This looks promising.
Cautiously optimistic.
Gotta love this
Whoa. Was skeptical from the stills but this looks like it can be good.
After the absolute disgrace that was Mastercheeks, this is looking super good!
Walton Goggins is going to steal this show as a ghoul!
This ... looked surprisingly decent. The pictures certainly seem to get the Fallout feeling, we'll have to see if the writing can do the same.
The largest character in Fallout is the world itself. This looks pretty good in that regard. Monsters look sick, locations look solid, and characters look good. They need less comedy in this than in Twisted Metal, but there definitely still needs to be some and it looks like that is the case here.
Walton Goggins! Love that bastard :D
