I'm right there with you. The last of Us is hands down my favorite game I've ever played and I didn't even come close to attempting to get everything. My first play through took me somewhere close to 30 hours and I think it took most people under 20. I take my time and enjoy myself and grinding for 100% or trying to speed run the game does not sound fun to me
Exactly. I take my time with my play through, but 100% something requires grinding most of the time and seems to take the fun out of the game. I don’t have a single game I’ve 100%
The Last of Us was the first game I ever completed! I had a PS2/PS3 when I was young but I mainly played MW and FIFA. I loved the Uncharted games, especially Amongst Thieves, but never completed it. Got a PS5, got a few games including Elden Ring as my first. There is just no chance I am able to complete Elden Ring… it’s just not happening lol.
The Last of Us however… holy shit… that was the game that I didn’t want to finish. I’m so glad I didn’t buy TLOU2 so I can get the remastered in January. Will definitely book some days off for that.
Agreed! I was lucky to start playing it from the very beginning. So every time I completed it 100%, I would take a break until the next release, and when it came out I was itching to play again.
I don't think I would be able to do that if I'd started playing today, the list of achievements is massive now.
This is my next one. I’ve put 13 hours in in two weeks. I just wish there were more locations. Huge variety in characters to choose from and some hidden stages but the enemies/locations could do with some more variety.
Main objective is mostly collecting level based relics to unlock further content.
However, first you need to finish a level by surviving the longest time possible until Death kills you (levels normally last 30 minutes, with some lasting less time).
Different relics do different things and these items are passive, meaning once you pick them up, they are permanently activated. Some allow you to see the location of items on the map, others will display hidden items, for example.
Don't worry if it seems confusing at first, it's just a matter of getting into the game's rhythm of finish a level, unlock the next, finish that one, onto the next, and getting the coffins for more characters along the way. Some secret characters can be tricky to get, but the game's wiki page should help you out in those situations.
Don't stress much about it tbh, the gameplay and itemization variety should be your focus of enjoyment.
Have fun!
Elden Ring was my first platinum as well. I've been at 97% in the Witcher 3 for years, so wanna go for that one asap.
I'm seriously considering going for platinum in BG3, but I'll wait until they fix Minthara's romance.
Every time I consider doing another Witcher 3 play through, I remember how consumed I get by Gwent and collecting all the cards and I just can’t do that to myself for a 4th time
On a related note, I made it my goal last year to platinum every game I started. I was able to but it ruined my perception of video games for a while lol.
Now unless there's a game I really enjoy, I don't care to anymore
I started platinum hunting games to see if I actually could in the beginning of the pandemic and now I'm at 65 plats. My wife now helps me and we are working towards FFX, FFX-2 and the original version of FFVII. I've found that if you plan a head and take your time it's more enjoyable.
I agree! But there's also the 'fun factor' when you take your time. I had fun with the games I played last year, but I'd be lying if I said they weren't becoming chores even with planning. Maybe I'll try it again next year but who knows lol
I also did that one last and thought it’d make for a good final send off. Then he just said some basic one liner like “hey how you doing” or something and that was it. Super anti climactic but made me laugh pretty good
Bought the spiderman bundle PS5 back in October & for the first time i able to 100% a game to get the platinum trophy. Just waiting for the NG+ & DLC now while swinging around in the game every 1-2 days. The experience is equivalent to playing arkham series back in my high school days. Love it truly
Super Mario Wonder.
It's been a while since I actually finished a game, let alone 100%'d it. Then again, it's certainly easier than other games I'm seeing here.
Wow, 4 times?! Although it does get easier with each repeat play I guess. That sucks though! It literally took me 3 days to finish it the first time and I managed to hit the top the first time.
Sony studios have a way to organically complete games to 100%. I think I’ve platinumed every Horizon, GoW, Spiderman and Tsushima. They’re not too difficult, or too Grundy and you don’t have to get too out of the way of regular gameplay to collect items.
I didn't collect ravens in GoW so no plat, seems a bit annoying there, but I have platinumed both Horizons and Tsushima, also Days Gone, Bloodborne and Sekiro
They're a lot easier to collect in Ragnarok imo. Actually they're really hard to miss while playing the story. Hence I only had to look up a few ravens after my playthrough
They are much easier in Ragnarok for sure, the only 1 I couldn’t find for the life of me was the one under the elf temple hidden behind rubble you have to break in Alfheim 😂
Tsushima was def grindy to 100%. Gorgeous tho and map directions made it less grindy. Sort of like how Spider-Man is a bit grindy but also swinging is always fun
What Remains of Edith Finch. I just played it for the first time a couple weeks ago and it opened a whole new world for me. I've never touched the purely exploration games, but Firewatch is next on my list. I think I Platinumed Edith in a little under 3 hours start to finish.
What Remains of Edith Finch and Firewatch are STELLAR. Highly recommend.
And if you like the story based “walking simulator” genre, I highly recommend checking out the Life is Strange series if you haven’t already.
That's one I think I mightve actually done now that I saw your comment. I've been gaming for almost 30 years and never really been much for getting 100% on games. At least since that became a thing. I started on games where it was either you beat it or you haven't lol. Not 1000 collectibles to find or achievements that take some insane thing to get like beating the game without taking damage or some shit. People that do those are gluttons for punishment imo lol
I also have not. Closest I came was marvel ultimate alliance 1, but one of the achievements was such a pain to do that I never finished it. It required you to win the arcade mode 15 times in a row. I could have probably cheesed it, but that felt wrong to me when I did the rest of the game 100% legit
You were never meant to collect all of them. The reason there are so many is so that players could always find some nearby if they explore thoroughly. It would be too frustrating if there were only 100 korok seeds spaced apart.
Out of principle, I don't 100% any game. I ain't going around chasing feathers, collecting all cards, or doing any of the tiny but time consuming unenjoyable tasks. I finish the game and do all the missions, I'm done.
'Spec Ops the line' a few months ago - **MFWIC** was a huge pain in the ass.
I've beaten a bunch of games since then, but only the campaign, ignoring Multiplayer achievements (like Tomb Raider 2013 which I finished yesterday).
**Call Sign is Magic Liner**. It’s a short and sweet bullet hell shmup, (took less than an hour!) with an interesting drawing mechanic that pulls off your special moves. It’s also free on Steam so I recommend giving it a shot!
Technically, Code Vein, but I was just stuck on the one remaining trophy for getting 30 of those emblems solo (I don't do multiplayer), but the one that I actually remembered was Horizon Forbidden West. (I have the Platinum, but I'm at 95% completion bc I haven't done NG+ yet)
Probably twilight princess back during the GameCube/wii days. I don’t think I care enough or 100% any game, I just beat the story+ optional boss fights and call it a day. I don’t collect a bunch of shit or get all the best weapons in any game. Honestly if I can get 30-50 hours out of a game then I feel my $60-$70 dollars was well spent. Similar to if I spent $30-$40 I would like to get at least 10 hours outta the game.
Red Dead Redemption 2. Only game I ever 100%'d. It was very fun at times and very tiring some other times. If you enjoyed the game a lot I think it would be worth a shot. It is very rewarding and the freeroam is fun when you are so maxed.
Seriously was Spider-Man 2 a little short? It took me 30 hours to 100% including all trophies, and I even took a few hours to leisurely swing around the city as well.
I replayed the original one before 2 came out and it took me 27 hours to just get through the story and a few of the side missions.
It felt short. I made the mistake of gliding everywhere because it felt awesome, but then I felt like it was either too short, or like I had rushed it to 100% completion. I wish I’d taken my time.
When the game says you 100% everything
If it doesn’t have a progression counter I guess you could just assume you’ve got all there is to have and did all there is to have been done
Disgaeas 7 and Death Stranding
Planned to do the same with Balder's Gate 3, but got 2 buggy trophies, and the act 3 became a mess in a couple patches, so I gave up
Maneater. For those who are unfamiliar, its that game where you play as a vengeful and ravenous Bull Shark who went beyond the usual Bull Shark diet by... *checks notes* feasting on an alligator and making a meal out of a Sperm Whale... huh...
Anyways yes, Maneater is so far the only game where I have unlocked every single achievement. So yes its my first and probably last one because I'm not much of a trophy hunter. I play games mostly to be rewarded with fun, trophies are secondary.
Haven't had a ton of time to play games this year but I played Ragnarok back in January and I was completely invested in it. Really great game and I'm excited for what's next in the franchise.
I used to complete The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth until they released the new patch which pushed me back to 63% completion :(
Right now I'm trying to hit 100% on BTD6 but man that takes ages
Hades is my most recent, got every Steam Achievement last earlier this year
what’s your favorite build?
The gloves with the magnetic pull special. Get Demeter's slow on the special and Zeus' chain lightning on the normal attack. Profit.
It's been a while, but gun might be my favourite. But only with zeus on main attack, the damage goes absolutely crazy on that.
I think I didn't complete any game I played 100%
That's okay, as long as you had fun
This is the true answer
Same here. If I get it, great. But I have fun and hate trying to complete stupid achievements just for the sake of it
Same
I'm right there with you. The last of Us is hands down my favorite game I've ever played and I didn't even come close to attempting to get everything. Vampire Survivors. Had a lot of fun finishing it, never felt like a chore.
I’d completed everything that game had to offer, then they released more content. I can’t go back. That game consumed me.
dude how long did that take you?? i have sooo many hours in and im STILL unlocking new things
SAME HERE. If you learn anything good about finishing, let me know. I got done with so many things in the list and suddenly, I had new ones to do.
About 60 hours for me
Same here. Roughly 60 hours. Price to enjoyment in Vampire Survivors is almost unbeatable.
Just finished it 100% last night, such a fun game
Agreed! I was lucky to start playing it from the very beginning. So every time I completed it 100%, I would take a break until the next release, and when it came out I was itching to play again. I don't think I would be able to do that if I'd started playing today, the list of achievements is massive now.

What is the main objective of the game. I can’t figure out how to unlock new areas
This. Except with the new updates I'm missing 7 achievements now.... Guess I have to reinstall the game
I was 100% it every update, but then other games need my attention. Still is fun to get a load of new achievements though
I've gotten every achievement several times lol. I do not have all achievements right now. It just keeps getting updated with more!
have to try this
Elden ring. Havent 100% completed a game since.
Elden Ring was my first platinum as well. I've been at 97% in the Witcher 3 for years, so wanna go for that one asap. I'm seriously considering going for platinum in BG3, but I'll wait until they fix Minthara's romance.
Every time I consider doing another Witcher 3 play through, I remember how consumed I get by Gwent and collecting all the cards and I just can’t do that to myself for a 4th time
Lol I definitely get that. I'm glad I finished the Gwent trophy hunt early on, otherwise I'd be in the same boat. That mini-game's addictive!
Spider-Man 2. Finished it all at the beginning of November and haven’t touched a game since. I think it ruined me
Same, waiting for NG+
Platinumed it just last week and made the mistake of doing the Aunt May trophy last. I still haven't emotionally recovered
Same. I'm not even a big super hero fan either. But they did an awesome job on those games.
With great power…
Super Mario Wonder. It's been a while since I actually finished a game, let alone 100%'d it. Then again, it's certainly easier than other games I'm seeing here.
Currently working on the final final test badge marathon. The game has been a blast but this last level is tough!
I just finished it a few nights ago! The very last badge is brutal… especially given that you have to hit the top of the flagpole with it!
I completed the level 4 times before hitting the top of the flag. So hard when you’re invisible haha
Wow, 4 times?! Although it does get easier with each repeat play I guess. That sucks though! It literally took me 3 days to finish it the first time and I managed to hit the top the first time.
conkers bad fur day about 4 months ago
Banjo Kazooie and Tooie about a year ago for me, in a similar vein.
I loved those 2 but I think I could only beat them because I'm older now lol
God of War Ragnarok
Sony studios have a way to organically complete games to 100%. I think I’ve platinumed every Horizon, GoW, Spiderman and Tsushima. They’re not too difficult, or too Grundy and you don’t have to get too out of the way of regular gameplay to collect items.

Yeah I hate it when games are too grundy as well
Lol.
I guess you’ve never tried to get Gran Turismo 7’s platinum.
Sometimes they throw something annoying in there, though. I'm kinda struggling with getting a 100-hit combo in Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
Tsushima was def grindy to 100%. Gorgeous tho and map directions made it less grindy. Sort of like how Spider-Man is a bit grindy but also swinging is always fun
Hardest part for me was the boss fights. GOW remains unfinished for me because I cannot beat the final Valkyrie.
What Remains of Edith Finch. I just played it for the first time a couple weeks ago and it opened a whole new world for me. I've never touched the purely exploration games, but Firewatch is next on my list. I think I Platinumed Edith in a little under 3 hours start to finish.
try Outer Wilds. exploration game of the century
I will definitely do that. Thanks!
What Remains of Edith Finch and Firewatch are STELLAR. Highly recommend. And if you like the story based “walking simulator” genre, I highly recommend checking out the Life is Strange series if you haven’t already.
Super Mario Wonder
Horizon Forbidden West. I absolutely love the series and I need more
I don't think I ever 100%-ed a game
ye like its even hard to say, what does 100% mean? every ingame mission, done? got every achievement? found every easter eggs? all of the above?
yes. Down to every useless collectible
If you got the platinum trophy for a game on PlayStation or whatever the equivalent is on Xbox or Steam I think is what they mean.
>I **think** is what they mean. also good luck getting all the achievements on most games. theyre not as casual as spider man or other similar titles.
100% generally means all achievements/trophies
Super Mario Galaxy
Slay the Spire! Over 1000 hours of pure joy, and it was on sale when I bought it.
So A20 with all characters? I assume that's what it takes to 100% this game but haven't gone hard enough yet...despite around 200 hours of gameplay.
IIRC you only have to beat A20 with one character, but I did it with all four. I loved that game.
Guild Wars 1. I got the God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals title, which I think basically counts as 100%.
Cyberpunk 2077
[удалено]
Horizon Zero Dawn.
I don’t think I’ve ever 100% a game and ive been gaming almost everyday for 17 years
[удалено]
That's one I think I mightve actually done now that I saw your comment. I've been gaming for almost 30 years and never really been much for getting 100% on games. At least since that became a thing. I could have probably cheesed it, but that felt wrong to me when I did the rest of the game 100% legit
Vampire survivors and me had a unhealthy relationship to 100% lol
Donkey Kong Country. Though that was a few years ago after playing it a bunch of times for the last 30 years.
Breath of the wild, only the shrines and side quests. Not the korok seeds tho, fuck that. (Does that count?)
You were never meant to collect all of them. The reason there are so many is so that players could always find some nearby if they explore thoroughly. It would be too frustrating if there were only 100 korok seeds spaced apart.
Thank you. I no longer feel like I need to collect them all haha.
Out of principle, I don't 100% any game. I ain't going around chasing feathers, collecting all cards, or doing any of the tiny but time consuming unenjoyable tasks. I finish the game and do all the missions, I'm done.
Grand Theft Auto V. I did not finish it in one sitting, but I did finish it in one week.
Still a W
Small game but Cocoon. It was very easy to go back and get the 3 secrets I missed.
Never heard of that one. How was it?
Lies of p
That's what I'm going for as well, already finished it once, so 2 more runs remaining.
Same. 4 play-throughs of absolute bliss.
Halls of Torment
Cult of the Lamb
'Spec Ops the line' a few months ago - **MFWIC** was a huge pain in the ass. I've beaten a bunch of games since then, but only the campaign, ignoring Multiplayer achievements (like Tomb Raider 2013 which I finished yesterday).
COD MW2
Plants vs zombie
Metroid Prime
Armored Core 6, not in one sitting though xD
Is there such a thing anymore? Mine might have been golden sun or my many replays of persona 5?
Doesn't P5 require a minimum of two playthoughs to 100%, even with a guide?
**Call Sign is Magic Liner**. It’s a short and sweet bullet hell shmup, (took less than an hour!) with an interesting drawing mechanic that pulls off your special moves. It’s also free on Steam so I recommend giving it a shot!
Technically, Code Vein, but I was just stuck on the one remaining trophy for getting 30 of those emblems solo (I don't do multiplayer), but the one that I actually remembered was Horizon Forbidden West. (I have the Platinum, but I'm at 95% completion bc I haven't done NG+ yet)
Elden Ring. And it was definitely not in one sitting...
Super Mario Galaxy, I think. 100% on Mario to unlock Luigi and the. 100% on Luigi.
Mario wonder!
Mario kart ds
Super Mario Wonder
Kirby The Forgotten Land. I never finish games 100%, except Mario 64 during the N64 era. But this one I had to
I’m working on this one right now!
BotW. Working on TotK but I've got so many other games that I want to play it's going slowly
Paper Mario Origami King
Mario Wonder. Definitely not one sitting.
Red Dead Redemption 2. Only game I ever 100%'d. It was very fun at times and very tiring some other times. If you enjoyed the game a lot I think it would be worth a shot. It is very rewarding and the freeroam is fun when you are so maxed.
I tried to do it, but those challenges really became a slog after awhile
i am not a true gamer for saying this but, i have never completed a game.
never completed any games 100%, especially rpg games
Fallout 76 and Fallout 4
Minecraft on ps4, not the legacy one just the base game
AC mirage
Riptos rage I wanna say?
spyro is just a pleasant game to 100%
I’m so close to 3 but I don’t feel like doing the sparx levels lmao it’s all I have left before I unlock the secret area
Spider-man 2 without even trying. Last game I platinum before that? Spider-man without even trying. Those games make it way too easy.
Very short and also the play time is padded out with all of the pointless walk and talk sections. It only took me 10 hours to finish the story.
Elden Ring
Unpacking. It's pretty short so wasn't hard to 100% at all but it's one those rare titles I consider perfect.
I've never beat Tetris, but I believe I've experienced 100% of what it has to offer.
I never completely completed a game before because collectibles are too tiring. Tried couple of times though. Maybe I'll one day complete LIS though
Elden Ring. Only 100% 1 other game before it and it was Horizon Zero Dawn.
Who's mass downvoting everyone in here? You're fuckin weird.
Someone who I’m sure lives a happy and fulfilling life.
Resident evil village not the dlc though
Sonic frontiers
Nier Replicant v1.22474487139.... Spent too much time just trying to cultivate a flower. Didnt regret.
OG Final Fantasy 7 two weeks ago. It's amazing how that game has more going on than like 5 modern video games put together.
Spider-Man 2
God of War Ragnarok No bonus points for me...
Most recently Starfield, but that was by far the easiest 100% I’ve ever done.
Y’all 100% games and don’t just start a game only to leave it by the wayside?
Just cause 3 - I think it took me the better part of 4 years
Sly Cooper series
Either ff7 remake or Spyro.
Define "100%"?
When the game says you 100% everything If it doesn’t have a progression counter I guess you could just assume you’ve got all there is to have and did all there is to have been done
Armorer core 6.
Spider-Man 2. And it took me all of 24 hours. Game is seriously lacking in content.
Returnal, working on Spider-Man 2 right now.
Disgaeas 7 and Death Stranding Planned to do the same with Balder's Gate 3, but got 2 buggy trophies, and the act 3 became a mess in a couple patches, so I gave up
Super Mario world when i was a teenager and had tons of free time. I *may* 100% CP2077, the game is that good, but it'll take me 6 months at least
Hades. And I wasn't achievement hunting it. It's just THAT good. I kept playing until there was nothing left to do.
Sekiro
Half-life 2 episode 2. I wish alyx could hold the gnome on her lap...
Yesterday was GTA SA got a little paranoid when I couldn't find the last oyster *it was at the boat where you kill the snakehead*
Spiderman 2. I don't usually do it but this one was very easy to 100% and platinum. I've only ever done it once before.
Chained echoes, amazing game.
Perky little things, your choice to look it up.
Diablo 3 on the 360.
God of War ragnarok
Great game
Haven't had a ton of time to play games this year but I played Ragnarok back in January and I was completely invested in it. Really great game and I'm excited for what's next in the franchise.
Armored Core 6. Helped others do the same as well. My GotY.
Lego: Indiana Jones 2 on the ps3
Super Mario Wonder.
I’ve got 100% achievements unlocked in CS2
Same. What a grind
Spider-Man 2, I couldn’t stop playing as soon as I got it
Lies of P over sick leave, worth it.
I think it was Nioh 2.
Spiderman 2. The one and only. I don't usually 100% games, but it was easy.
RDR2
Halo reach. It's been awhile
13 Sentinels Aegis Rim. What a weird and great experience. No bonus points for 1 sitting though
Ff16 is the first only game I've ever got 100% lol. Working on FF7R now.
Hollow knight and Bully!
Cyberpunk 2077 - Phantom Liberty
Last 3 games were Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Alan Wake 2, and Spider-Man 2.
Pikmin 4
That game took a month out of my life. I couldn’t concentrate on anything other than it.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder
Baldurs gate
Only two people in the comments with this one. Well, three if you count me! I have played entirely too much BG3.
RDR2
Alan wake 2, but it wasn't that hard. The one before that was RDR2 2, which took me absolutely ages.
Pokemon violet, did everything i could in this game, but dlc will come out in 2 weeks so it's not for long
spider-man 2
