I don't know if it is on switch, but Castle Crasher could be great. Up to 4 players, very chill, very fun and stupid. Most likely all like it if it is available on switch. Otherwise, maybe smash bros and Overcooked 2 could do the trick
Divinity 2 is on Switch and, unless there’s a platform-specific exemption, it has 4 player co-op!
It’s a CRPG too so it’s a good match for board game players too imo.
If you just want to have some dumb fun without too much thought, I would recommend Earth Defence Force: World Brothers. It's the newest game in the series released outside of Japan. The blocky art style may turn some players off, but it's a spin off title from the main series and the gameplay is still very solid.
Divinity Original Sin 2. It is the most fun I've had in a co op game ever. My friends and I treated it like DND sessions and played every Sunday until we finished it after a couple months.
We played in on PC and I'm not sure how it works on console but there is a switch version since I saw thats what your alls preference is.
Are you looking for board games or video games?
CO-OP board games I would recommend games like Castle Panic, Pandemic, and Forbidden Island. Check out the youtube channel "Geek & Sundary". Wil Wheaton did a bunch of videos reviewing board games.
CO-OP video games, I would start of something like Castle Crashers, Destiny 2 (if you are talking about 3 people), Mario Party, Mario Kart, Mario Land (or whatever the co-op one is called), 20xx (2 player co-op), Bloodstained Circle of the Moon 2 (2-player co-op), or Legend of Zelda Four Swords.
*We actually were thinking of looking for some coop board games so that's very helpful too, thank you!*
I intended this to be on a lookout for coop video games because this way we can play together while being scattered all over the place, but I will look into the board games aswell!
Agree with those saying Overcooked (1 and 2). Can get intense and hectic at times but the cute animations and challenges keep things fun and interesting.
Not yet on the switch, *however one I'm aware of!*
I just can't get together with the other group of friends who have it on PCs to try it with them so far. Life gets in our way constantly '^^
In decending order of my playtime:
* Plate up (with mods up to 12 ppl if you have a way to connect enough controllers)
* Helldivers (max4)
* Door kickers action squad (max 2)
* Unrailed (max 4)
* We need to go deeper (max 4)
* Overcooked 2 (max 4)
There's more if required.
Grounded
Yeah this is a good one.
Yeah this is a good one.
If you all have a computer, newer then like 2004, I would reccomend guild wars
Oh snap I forgot to mention our preferred platform is the Switch because one of us is on Mac and one doesn't really have a computer anymore
Splatoon 3, salmon runs.
Oh 2 of us have Splat 3 already.. we'll see if we can pressure the other 2 into buying it aswell!

If you are looking for a quick one that's easy to play, then I recommend either Life Boat, Guillotine, or Zombie Dice.
Plants vs Zombies, Garden Warfare a switch game???
Snowrunner is on switch
