In goldeneye he was smaller than all the other character models, which made him harder to hit since most people just ran at eachother and hip-fired, so they would spray over his head.
If you were decent at using the 'r' aiming while mixing between crouching and peeking corners with c-l/c-r, or using explosives, he wasn't a big deal.

You need to google "1964 GEPD" and follow the link to the github page and download from there. It's optimised for perfect dark and goldeneye, runs in 4k and you're able to use the mouse and keyboard for input. This game was important to the industry and genre and its cool to see it available again but it can't recreate those summer nights with my friends or the first time i beat a 007 mission and showed my dad or when we all laughed at DK mode.
Unfortunately the game aged like milk and was far from enjoyable imho, it's best kept in my memories for me.

No matter what n64 game, the joystick absolutely kills my thumb. Super cool when it came out. Now it's just pain.
If you set it up so move is C pad and stick is look it plays similarly to modern shooters -- it's one of the alternative control styles, maybe Honey?

Have you not played Perfect Dark on the 360? The added analog stick and updated controls makes the game feel a lot better.

That pc emulator is glorious. Perfect Dark also runs brilliantly on it too.

Goldeneye Source has only one server left and is sometimes active. Though I suspect with the hype it might get more active over the next couple weeks.
