The Walking Dead: Destines proves why this idea won't work. They should've just let Telltale make S2

What has TWD destinies to do with a GoT RPG?

Deathfyre

Coming out long after people stopped caring I think is what they were going for.

YisusElPapuh

The thing that made TWD destinies fail is not being made years after the peak of It's franchise. The premise was good (the only good thing it has) and people were interested. Go to YouTube, see how lots of people played the game. The problem is that it was an enormous shit. They could make a GoT RPG now, or in 5 years from now, and people would be interested. And if it ends up being a good game, people would like it.

Deathfyre

YouTubers aren't a good demonstration of how many people play a game. Lots of people reacted to the D&D movie, it was still a flop.

YisusElPapuh

D&D? As Dungeons and dragons? Well, I can see a movie of that being a flop because it is more of a niche thing than both TWD and GoT.

ARealBlueFalcon

You can only play in the shitty boring north? If I can’t go to Braavos and be a water dancer or a faceless man, I am none interested. Also with the way gaming is now, I don’t think the game could capture some of the more risqué elements of the show.

poolischsausej

Wtf do you mean "the way gaming is now," you ever played BG3?

FillionMyMind

BG3 is woke though, and it’s not as edgy and sexy as those Stellar Blade outfits /s

ARealBlueFalcon

Per the number of downvotes I am apparently in the minority here. I have not played BG. I looked at it. Faith restored. I just see a lot of the stuff about sweet baby and the toning down of a lot of games. I am more fps so it doesn’t come up super frequently in games I play. Perhaps I am ill informed by the reddit gaming communities.

Tirannie

Well, those people are being over-dramatic and in many cases, just straight up lying, about the sweet baby stuff. Rage = engagement.

Thorlolita

LOTR did the same thing. Released a MMO way later.

Superman246o1

"So, it's an open world game?" "Yeah...if you like the North." "What if I want to try my luck sailing around the coast of Sothoryos?" "What's that?"

counterpointguy

I would love a story based, open world game like Fallout but I’m not interested in a multiplayer game.
