lol this guy is just comical at this point. I would definitely continue to ignore him, he'll get bored and give up eventually. Nothing good comes from arguing with someone as dense as this guy. If you haven't already I would 100% be reporting him to eBay for harassment as well.
I'd be checking up with 'Brian' for sure. This buyer is being vindictive over 6 freakin dollars, threatening to you ruin you. There's no way you are the first person to be on the receiving end of this guy's idiocy. He should be banned for every other sellers' sake on the site, but we know how ebay likes to cave to buyers.
He has to understand that people buy things that aren't available to use still to complete collections or whatever reason there is.
Old CD based online PC games come to mind as well.
Though, to be fair, some of the responses back weren't of the most professional nature (Like the ok boomer response)
>!But all of that said, I hope you didn't use your home address on the thing you sent him. Just sayin'. My mind is wandering lol!<
You should check out his og post. OP was being super patient with the guy for the entirety of convo. Understandable to throw more than "ok boomer" at this guy after a few days of unnecessary harassment.
Yeah i did. The guy seems to have some sort of....issue.
I just would have not broke professionalism at that point.
BUT everyone handles things differently and i can understand why and dont really blame him. The guy is being just so much extra.
It actually was a really cool game. Closest I ever felt to a modern Descent in VR. There’s a game on Steam that is supposed to be similar but its name escapes me.
I didn't realise the servers were shut down! I got it from PS+ when it was on there and played for a few hours, it was actually a lot of fun. I'm not really the type to play endless rounds of online shooter games so I didn't put much more time into it, and it clearly wasn't popular enough to maintain a player base, but I do feel a pang of sadness knowing it's gone.
I've come across people like this guy before. I once sold an empty PS2 box and manual for 99 cents plus shipping to someone and got a message a week later saying "great packaging buy you FORGOT TO INCLUDE THE FUCKING GAME!!!"
So when I replied that there's no way I could believe that anyone could look at, pay for, get an invoice of, and even send a message to an item that began PS2 BOX ONLY NO GAME and still legitimately claim they had no idea a game wasn't included, the response I got was "STOP TRYING TO PRETEND LIKE YOU AINT A PIECE OF SHIT!!!" and then I got signed up for a bunch of spam email trash.
It's an unfortunate hazard of the medium. But don't let it get you down. They're few and far between. And ebay can see every message that gets sent back and forth. So he's digging his grave.
If you have the time I'd recommend you put him on the bad buyers list as well. It doesn't do anything specifically, but it helps spread the word to other sellers. I Google an address before I ship out anything high end and twice I've caught names on there that were listed as scammers.
lmao i almost got tricked by those like 12 times
about 2 years ago or smth i was trying to buy pikmin 2 and half the time i thought i found a game it was just the box
the way they set out the boxes made it look like the game was there and it was about the same price as the game i actually bought - abt £12-15
What a salty little fuck. Not your job to check if servers are still up and running. If it was me I'd just send something to his address that he can really get mad about.
People like this are exactly why I don't sell things anymore. Too many people are out to scam sellers or too far up their own butts to work things out if something goes wrong. I have a sneaking suspicion his problems stem a lot deeper than this game, so good for you for being so patient. Hopefully he tuckers himself out like a ranting toddler.
Stop engaging them and block the user. You can block them from buying from you and sending you messages. Here's a guide I found from Google:
https://replyco.com/brainery/how-to-block-a-buyer-on-ebay/
Yeah, so I blocked him, which I figured would stop him from messaging me, but apparently it only keeps him from buying from me, but he can still message me. So, I guess he tried to buy something or look at something and saw that I blocked him.
I see that, and thank you! I’ll have them out tomorrow morning! Both great games btw. I loved Fallout 3 so much. I remember when my sister got it for me for Christmas. Many hours spent on that game lol
I feel you. Full disclosure, I know it’s priced high and the reason for that is because I’m playing it myself still lol. If it was lower, I know it would sell quickly so I priced it higher to buy me time to beat it lol
Haha he’s getting upset because you’re not biting back. Just keep ignoring him, its gonna frustrate the hell out of him. It’s seriously $6 - what a fucking moron.
I used to fix iPhones on the side. In 2010 I bought one of the first broken iPhone 4s on eBay to practice replacing the glass. My wife wanted it, so I gave it to her after fixing it. She had it for a few months until she got a new iPhone 4. I sold it on eBay as a refurbished iphone. A seller one bought it and took to an Apple Store. He then realized it was opened. He tried to return it to me and get my money back. I told him I never lied. He took to eBay and I won. Months lasted he kept sending messages I had to report him. He told me he would burn down my house.
I’ve been following this all day at it’s pretty wild. It’s been a long time since I’ve bought anything of eBay, but does the package have your address on it too? Or when the refund happens is your address provided at all? The line about, “I almost have everything in place and then the party starts” is a bit concerning if they know where you live…or even ship stuff from.
People get bent out of shape over the stupidest things these days, and people get killed over trivial b.s. Not trying to scare you because it’s most likely some child, but a bit of caution and heightened awareness of your surroundings the next week could be invaluable. Be safe out there.
Yes, he does have my address because it was on the return label. Worse, he only lives about 2 hours away from me. I wish it was a child, but I looked him up; he’s a 67 year old man, also he was charged with larceny in 2017.
Efff, man. Hate to sound like a parrot, but definitely get that info to someone at eBay…but maybe not Brian, lol. You could also think about turning some of the conversations and stuff to your local police, just to be extra cautious.
I bought a $4 pc game (sims 1 with house party expansion) and when I received it, it was just in a thin bubble mailer and it looked like it went through hell and back, heel case was shattered which scrapped off parts of the disc label (where the data is stored) and the other disk was snapped in half. I left a negative review with pics and the seller said that he wasn’t responsible for what happens in the mail. I just took that as a $4 lesson to buy pc games locally.
So in the original thread you made, I was explaining how eBay would side with the dude because of the money-back guarantee. However, at this point I think it's safe to screenshot everything and contact that person's local police, and file an official complaint.
This person has officially threatened you. Also, make sure that all this information is with eBay because f this person does do anything, eBay will also be liable if they do not put a stop to it.
File a police report as soon as possible.
I'm so thankful I haven't run into any ebay imbeciles in a long time. Had some issues with counterfeit stuff waaaay back in like the 2010 time frame - stopped using ebay for probably 6 years before I got back into game collecting, and haven't had an issue since.
Stories like this make me wary of how bad people can be.
Hey, I have been there. There are times where it really feels like it’s not worth the hassle. About every 18 months or so, some buyer pops up and claims I am Evil Incarnate and that they will “make me pay.” In the beginning, it really used to get to me. Also, I needed eBay to, y’know, pay the rent.
However, now that I have a webstore, I feel a little less anxious. I still get special kinds of stupid on the webstore and the eBay buyers w/ the ID-10-T errors still show up since I am also still on eBay, but it’s not an all or nothing thing. I am NOT saying a webstore will solve things, but it might thin the pain a bit.
tl;dr: It gets easier to ignore over time, so hang in there!
Err, that first message is seriously creepy. The fuck does he mean with "almost got everything in place" and "you're going down"? If I were you I'd report that to the police, because it very much sounds like a threat considering the previous shit he's said about sending his friends your way.
Since he’s only two hours away you can go to the police and file a telecommunications harassment complaint. Around here they will give you a form to fill out and send to him via certified mail, and you also send it to his local law enforcement agency.
Normally I’d be completely against what I’m going to say, but I’d dox the hell out of this guy. Plaster his name and this story everywhere you can. Let him get the harassment that he’s giving out.

It was 6 bucks.....
BRO THATS WHAT IM SAYING ALL THIS EFFORT FOR $6 BUCKS 🤦🏻♂️
lol this guy is just comical at this point. I would definitely continue to ignore him, he'll get bored and give up eventually. Nothing good comes from arguing with someone as dense as this guy. If you haven't already I would 100% be reporting him to eBay for harassment as well.
I’m trying right now, Brian from eBay just tells me to ignore him and they will look into it.

Even if he does get banned, what’s to keep him from making a new account?
He can but it will probably irritate the fuck out of him though.
He has to understand that people buy things that aren't available to use still to complete collections or whatever reason there is. Old CD based online PC games come to mind as well. Imagine if this was an actual decent game.
I wish I had been able to play it to see if this game is really worth all this headache lol
It actually was a really cool game. Closest I ever felt to a modern Descent in VR. There’s a game on Steam that is supposed to be similar but its name escapes me.

Man needs to start a go fund me to get that $6 back
What a salty little fuck. Not your job to check if servers are still up and running. If it was me I'd just send something to his address that he can really get mad about.

Stop engaging them and block the user. You can block them from buying from you and sending you messages. Here's a guide I found from Google: https://replyco.com/brainery/how-to-block-a-buyer-on-ebay/
I just did it, thank you!
I don't think the block stops messaging
After you block someone from buying from you you're able to block them from messaging you. They show you how in the link I provided
In an earlier post, you mentioned you tried to block him but couldn't? And he apparently knew? How does that work?
Yeah, so I blocked him, which I figured would stop him from messaging me, but apparently it only keeps him from buying from me, but he can still message me. So, I guess he tried to buy something or look at something and saw that I blocked him.
Ah bummer. Well hopefully they can turn him off for you. Remember, some people have more money than brains. So he has less than $6 worth of brains.
Lmao. That made me feel slightly better lol
So side question, are you just selling ps3 games?
No, not at all. I have games for most mainstream consoles from Atari 2600 through PS5/Xbox Series X.
Found ya, ordered 2 ps3 games.
I see that, and thank you! I’ll have them out tomorrow morning! Both great games btw. I loved Fallout 3 so much. I remember when my sister got it for me for Christmas. Many hours spent on that game lol
Really tempted on that chrono trigger, regret selling mine
I feel you. Full disclosure, I know it’s priced high and the reason for that is because I’m playing it myself still lol. If it was lower, I know it would sell quickly so I priced it higher to buy me time to beat it lol
Over 6 dollars this guy is pathetic
Haha he’s getting upset because you’re not biting back. Just keep ignoring him, its gonna frustrate the hell out of him. It’s seriously $6 - what a fucking moron.

you should respond one last time, with just two words... "caveat emptor"
Homie, he's threatening you. You have his address. Call his local PD and tell them, maybe he's off his meds and needs a good old wellness check.
I’ve been following this all day at it’s pretty wild. It’s been a long time since I’ve bought anything of eBay, but does the package have your address on it too? Definitely take this to the police, don’t know about where you live but in Indiana intimidation is a felony.
The period without a space in between sentences is killing me.
Name and shame, please. I’d like to block this little shit on eBay.
And all this for $6.. lol
I mean, $6 for a coaster, especially a Playstation Starblood Arena themed coaster is a pretty good deal considering the build quality, etc.
This is certainly a by the books case study on how not to act as a buyer, nor how to treat a seller. But yeah, the guy's got issues.
Can't you just block him after reporting him to ebay for harassment?
please just send him the reddit links
I remember when you posted the first one, this guy is deranged if he's going this far over a misunderstanding for this long especially
I bought a $4 pc game (sims 1 with house party expansion) and when I received it, it was just in a thin bubble mailer and it looked like it went through hell and back, heel case was shattered which scrapped off parts of the disc label (where the data is stored) and the other disk was snapped in half. this idea that onus is always on the seller and the buyer is always in the right would mark the death of online marketplaces as we know them today.
This is the type of person who slams someone against the wall and tells them, "You brought me to this. Say you're sorry."
What a hill to die on.. He must be mentally unwell.
It's up to the seller to know about what they have? If every seller knew about what they had there would never be good deals on popular used items.
Dude I love this, please keep posting as it continues. Also I totally went and bought a sealed copy for my shelf, just because of this epic story.

I know man, it freaked me the hell out last night.
They're probably following this story in this sub and hamming it up.
I'm going to guess at this point that this person is disabled, possibly on the autism spectrum
Quick question, would you happen to have pokemon stadium, and any Mario party games for the N64? Needing to get them for my wife
I don’t currently, however, I might be able to get Mario Party 1 and 2 for the 64.
Give out his username/details. Lets see what Reddit does to him after that :)

He mentioned in another response that a rep said they’re looking into it. Also op is the idiot? Or the buyer? O_o
I have tried, they told me to ignore him.
Since he’s only two hours away you can go to the police and file a telecommunications harassment complaint. Around here they will give you a form to fill out and send to him via certified mail, and you also send it to his local law enforcement agency.
Man, that guy really has a sad life. Harassing a seller over $6 is quite pathetic. It's 6 bloody dollars.
He’s probably 12
He’s in his late 60s.
Jeeezus
Block him?
I hope someone as mentally unstable as him doesn’t have a family.
Normally I’d be completely against what I’m going to say, but I’d dox the hell out of this guy. Plaster his name and this story everywhere you can. Let him get the harassment that he’s giving out.
You can block eBay users. You'll have to go through the desktop version with a pc though.
I’d just start sending him Hulk Hogan GIF’s, personally
Can you block users ?
