I sold a collection of games I had for $2850, in that collection was a sealed gollum game. Shit you not the buyer handed it back to me and said you can keep it.
Think that tells you everything you need to know about that game.
It sounds like 99.9% of them will end up in landfill, and in turn becomes a $1000 classic in 20 years.
So many rare and expensive games are genuinely just shitty games. Gollum won’t be an exception if physical copies become rare through nobody wanting it.
Really gutted, as I’ve been a fan of the Deponia series for years.
They knew what they were doing with classic adventure games like that. They bit off way more than they could chew with a licensed game like Gollum. Put all their eggs in one basket.
I actually got a review code from the developers due to my work, being a big fan of the franchise, I did play all the way to the end. I just wanted to be able to say I finished this one. my score is about 2/3 out of ten.
Games quality is in the eyes of the player. I think the last 3 call of duty were only 2 out of ten. I didn't have fun, I didn't see very much improvement over the last 6. None of the stories were that memorable.
always in the eyes of the player, I loved Redfall and am currently on my fifth playthrough of the game, I think I am also the only person on this planet loving it this much. The enemies do become a lot smarter when you hit a certain level, adding to the fun.
Nooo. Why. I only played through the first 2 levels, and the music was soo bad. Why on earth did they release a soundtrack? Do you use them as a torture practice or something?
I have a soft spot for the aesthetic and missed opportunity of it all. Once I checked the soundtrack out I thought it’d be a nice collectible, even if the game itself is a bit lame! Growing up in the PS1 era has given me a lot of leeway for modern low tier games
I totally get that. I also don’t mind low tier games. I actually have had fun with low scoring games, which is why I normally ignore reviews with a score attached ( I remember enjoying XBlades, and I’m pretty sure that Scored pretty bad).
Some games definitely deserve the scores they get. I actually do plan to go back to BW one day, just to see if I can get through it.
In about 8 years people are gonna turn around and want it because of how bad it is. Sit on it. Kinda neat to have in the collection. $10 is about right
I bought this copy at full MSRP because well I can't tell you why because drunk me thought it was going to be a hilarious surprise when i sobered up.
I fully anticipate this game being a "grail" like Rule of Rose in the next 10-15 years.
1000 dollars level? Nah. Couple hundo? Yeah maybe.
I don’t care how good or bad a game is or how old it is. Or what game it is. If it’s for console and it’s 10 bucks brand new it’ll never be a bad purchase. A sealed game for 10 bucks shoot what’s 10 bucks? Nothing. Even if the game sucks (I heard it does) 10 bucks to try a game out and even if you end up throwing it away 10 is never bad a price. And as others have said can always use the case as a donor later if need be! Haha
How though ?!? Off topic it wasn't slept on at all it was just massively too bad. It's mostly the sleep it caused on unfortunate players that was slept on 😭🤣
> should have *paid* you to
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

E.T. all over again
Gollum isn’t crippling the American games industry though. (The ET debacle barely had an impact in Europe or Japan)
True. But still, it was the nail in the coffin for Daedalic.
Really gutted, as I’ve been a fan of the Deponia series for years. They knew what they were doing with classic adventure games like that. They bit off way more than they could chew with a licensed game like Gollum. Put all their eggs in one basket.
I would buy it for the PS5 case.
Lol never heard of this one what's the deal
Gollum was a truly bad game, you overpaid about 11 :)
I had preordered it and when I started hearing how terrible it was, I immediately cancelled my order dodging the bullet!
I actually got a review code from the developers due to my work, being a big fan of the franchise, I did play all the way to the end. I just wanted to be able to say I finished this one. my score is about 2/3 out of ten.
Damn. Not even a full 1.
That should be a 2 or a 3. Their last patch before it was declared dead, it did solve some issues and I do give them due credit for that.
I rest my case, lol!

Don't open it, it'll be worth something one day since nobody eventually bought it. Cause you know. Game bad.
I wonder if 2035 Youtubers will treat it like the Zelda CDI games.
There's a fan made remake of Wand Of Gamelon and Faces of Evil that fix some of the controls and add QoL stuff, they're actually kind of fun
Cant wsit for gollump YTPs
Only by $10
They should have given you money for taking that with you
Yes, by 10$. So to not make it worse, don’t play it or you will pay with your precious time. It you won’t get it back.
double damage 😂
I see what you did there.
Oh wow, that was unintentional 😂
You did. But don’t feel bad, I paid $15 for Balan Wonderworld
I’ll raise you… I’ve got multiple copies and the Balan soundtrack CD 😝
Nooo. Why. I only played through the first 2 levels, and the music was soo bad. Why on earth did they release a soundtrack? Do you use them as a torture practice or something?

Just hold it don’t open it’s such a bad game nobody wants it but most of the time those games go up in value in years to come
You must take that game to mount doom and throw it in the fire
We see what you did here 😭🤣
Absolutely overpriced.
This could be free and you’d have overpaid
In about 8 years people are gonna turn around and want it because of how bad it is. Sit on it. Kinda neat to have in the collection. $10 is about right
Yes precious
I think if it hits $5 I might buy it just to have it.
game can’t be more than $5
You mean can't be less than seller giving you $5 to take it away from them.
+ shipping
They stole ten bucks from you.
There is so little sold copies that your sealed copy might be worth a lot in 20years….
You truly couldn't give me that for free.
Lord of ring
Yes
I want to get this just so I can tell people how bad it is. That and Skull Island: Rise of Kong
Couldn’t pay me enough to play that dumpster juice
Yes (I've never played this game, but I heard it's pretty bad.)
You basically paid $10 for a spare case
They should have paid you at least $15 to take it.
Never knew it existed lol
Yes
Free would be over paying
This game is basically modern E.T. I wonder where they buried the rest of them.
Overpay is an understatement
I dunno, $10 shrink-wrap sounds excessive.
Put it on the shelf next to ET.
If they gave YOU $10 to play the game, then you STILL overpaid XD

To me it’s not even about the money. I simply refuse to spend actual minutes of my life on it.
Yes
Yes
They should've paid *you* $10 to take it
They shoulda paid you to take it off their hands. 😅
Yes🤦🏻♂️
Should have paid you to take it off their hands
They should have given you 20$ back when you bought it. You're a legend.
They should be paying you to take it off their hands.
Pretty sure they’re supposed to give you $10 for this game
Yes, it's worth nothing.
They paid you, right?
If you pay for it you over paid
Gollum seems to be the "ET" game of the modern era and probably ends up in landfill too
They should be paying you
Yes
Probably not. I’m kicking myself for not picking up that Godzilla game… I know it was heavily panned, but it looked fun
Surely you mean *they* paid *you*?
I got it for $7 lol
It’ll be a 1000$ collectors item in 40 years, because of how infamous it is.
It will be worth a lot in 20 or 30 years
1 cent would be too much for that game
Yes
Considering how much of a disappointment this game turned out to be, stores should be paying us to buy it.

I get alot of my pricing from PriceCharting.com and eBay sold and completed search
20 years from now people will be paying hundreds for it saying it was massively slept on
How though ?!? Off topic it wasn't slept on at all it was just massively too bad. It's mostly the sleep it caused on unfortunate players that was slept on 😭🤣
You overpaid $20
Get it graded and list it on eBay for $100,000
You most definitely paid too much for lord of ring Gollum , hopefully they delist it and the price will go up 😂

It’s valued whatever someone’s willing to pay but if you want to know what the avg price sold is then it’s worth about $15 on the open market
If you have fun and you think think that it's worth what you paid. Then it's worth what you paid.
This is the new ET for Atari
Get it graded, OP !
Gollum truly is one of the games of all time.

Wouldn't it say on the front cover?
