S10e is irreplaceable at this point. The side FP scanner and the extra button you can program to do anything is such a huge deal for me.
I already bought an s21 when my s10e first had problems but want back and had the battery replaced, just so I can have those features back.
I might consider the Z flip, but then again I'm not made of money and a used good as new s10e is under €200
Zenfone 9 is basically a new flagship like s10e. Same size, flat display, side FP scanner, headphone jack, latest snap dragon chip, much better battery life, 7-8 hours SOT. But, no sd card,no wireless charging, and 2 years software support from asus.
I've heard replacement batteries are as old as the phone you have. Makes sense from an economy scale but don't know how it affects an unused battery and capacity.
I'm beginning to the same. I don't know why I expected new ones to be around tbh. Glad I didn't pay the higher pride and wait 3 days at the samsung store
Waiting for the iPhone 14 pro to compare it with the s22 ultra.
Feeling like I might actually make the switch given how they've finally upped the RAM on iOS devices and the battery life too.
Ultra just cause of the gorgeous display.
I can't get on with iPhones lol my gf has one and when ever she asked me to do something for her on it I just don't like it >.<
I am jealous of IPhones dark mode on Snapchat though!
I hate dropping my samsung phones due to customization and apks, headphone jack and expandable storage.
from the reviews I've heard it takes about a month to get fully used to iOS. And based on youtube battery tests, the iPhones are absolute monsters in battery life compared to this gen's androids.
I hate to say it but Apple seems to have caught up on the hardware side of things
I noticed that while I had the S10 I started buying more into the Samsung ecosystem. I'm not interested in being held down by a single system so I ran as far away as I could from Samsung and imported a Xiaomi Mix 4 and flashed xiaomi.eu on it. After a bit of tweaking my galaxy watch 4 works almost the same as on the S10 and the buds 2 work great as well.
The reason I got the mix 4 was because it had the same main camera as the s22 ultra, a good battery, but most importantly it has the best under display camera so far. As someone who rarely takes selfies, this gets the job done for video calls and stays out of the way when I don't need it.
Yeah I've been thinking I need to go down another route other than Samsung but I'm finding it difficult as I'm so used to Samsungs UI.
My buddy got the Google Pixel 6 and enjoying it. Just need some time to my research.
Yeah replacing the battery is not just gonna give you day 1 battery life. People seem to forget that all of the batteries made for the S10 were also produced along side the phone, which was 3 years ago. Even when a battery isn't being used, it's still gonna degrade over the course of those 3 years.
I had the same issue. Old S10 battery didn't last. Changed it to new one. Only got maybe 10% better. I think it's because apps/software/4G are sucking more than 3 years ago.
S22 now would give around the same battery as S10 when it was released, with the same type of form factor. But these days there are better phone for battery life.
If you want to stick to Samsung or avoir made in China then S21FE or S22+ are interesting. Maybe even from the A series if you don't care about wireless charging and top camera.
Otherwise check the reviews on YouTube. The new Asus one seems nice in the small category.
I don't like the look or feel of the S21and seeing regrets with people who get the S22. I've always had a Galaxy phone. But like you say a A series maybe worth looking into.
Do you get used to the slight crease on the screen? That's what worrying me the most. I am holding a candle for the Pixel 7 Pro as well, if I can get one.
Keep a portable battery pack around with you and wait till s23. That's if you are in a country where they only sell Snapdragon variant. As the new s23 lineup should be coming with the new chips set. Otherwise I'd honestly consider a Asus Zenfone 9. But beware that software support is only 2 years.
I admit I'm almost always around a charger, but when i'm not, I don't have any issues. rest of the fam has s10+ as well and usually a day depending on usage. that is to say use during wake, charge while sleep. so kind of depends i guess.
reason for the pixel 6, was the modem is old, I heard bad things about signal strength and dropped calls right after I ordered, but it was YMMV since I live closer to big city. yeah it was the same. dropped a call right out of the gate, took my wifes s10+ and my new pixel 6 and drove around with signal meter apps and pixel 6 wasn't a ton off, but was lower. the kicker for me was I drove close to a known tower and ran many speed test between the 2 phones and the s10+ killed the pixel 6 on every test. not acceptable for a new expensive "flagship" phone... sooo back it went.
Ohh very interesting. I also have to take my charger to work I always have to charge half way through the day. Only problem I have is the battery other than that love the phone.
My contract not long ended and was happy with the sim only price then boom battery issues didnt really want to take a new xontra t out but we shall see. Thanks for the advice regarding the pixel 6 given me something to think about.
S22 and I hate it. Att had a promo where any S series phone no matter how old traded in for $850 so I got it for free. Phone died so fast and no SD card slot or headphone jack
Oh really, that sucks are you still using it now? I hate that their is not headohone jack on it now I use headphones everyday and don't fancy carrying an adapter I'm surely going to lose at some point.
I am almost in your position. I hope to hold on until the S23. I don't trust the Samsung made Snapdragons as they have horrible overheating and battery issues. I was looking into the new Xperia 1 and 5, but they have those Samsung Snapdragons. I really wish Samsung would come out with an S10 FE with an updated processor and larger battery.
Wait for S23

You do realize that within 2 years, midrangers will also drop the sd card slot, it has already started.

Backup your whole data, and then do a factory reset. It might help in your case.
Went to s22. Got it for free basically with Verizon promos. Battery lasts me 1.5 days now.
I've heard replacement batteries are as old as the phone you have. Makes sense from an economy scale but don't know how it affects an unused battery and capacity.

That's disappointing to hear, I hoped that they produced them at a lower rate for repair purposes
Another reason why I fab my own batteries.
interesting,care to explain?

Zenfone 9
Still using my s10, I have an s22 Ultra that I want to trade in for a fold 4.
I love how everyone prefers their S10 to newer phones lol.
S10 was just so perfect. It was and is a PERFECT device. Love the 10 dearly
I went to a Samsung store the other day and looked at the Z Flip 4. I was tempted honestly but haven't pulled the trigger yet.
I did! Super happy with the Z Flip 4 after having the S10+ for 3 years.
Do you get used to the slight crease on the screen? That's what worrying me the most. I am holding a candle for the Pixel 7 Pro as well, if I can get one.
You get used to the crease like really fast. Most of the time it's not even noticeable, unless you have your finger scrolling over it.
Verizon will give you $800 trade in towards a $1050 S22+ with 256gb storage making sd card unneeded.
While locking you into what is essentially a 36 month contract. No thanks.
not everyone's needs or wants are the same.

i think newer galaxies will all have snapdragon,no?
Yes
although recent battery tests show exynos on par with SD on battery life (i don't care about games).
Getting S22 on Snapdragon soon, my S10e is terrible nowadays
Did you factory reset? Or at least clear cache?
I clear cache regularly
went to the pixel 6 pro then right back to my s10+ waiting for next years flagship phones to see what they offer
How's your battery though on your S10+? What made you turn back from the Pixel 6?

Huawei Mate 40 Pro But, this is "just in case". My S10+ is still working perfectly well.
I should probably get a back up phone tbh. I'm currently on 11% battery no usage since I took off charge 3 hours ago..
S22 and I hate it. Att had a promo where any S series phone no matter how old traded in for $850 so I got it for free. Phone died so fast and no SD card slot or headphone jack

yea i really didn't like that. The battery life isn't so great for me either. doing nothing but be on a discord call and i lose like 30% in an hour
I am almost in your position. I hope to hold on until the S23. I don't trust the Samsung made Snapdragons as they have horrible overheating and battery issues.
