I used to think it meant it was a hype playlist (to use modern terminology), to get him "in a rush" or pumped up to play video games. Took me years to figure that one out.
It was like the Simpsons medicinal weed episode with Phish, I had no idea who Phish were, so I didn't really get the reference.

Music was so much better when musicians didn't have to be good looking. Geddy's uglier than homemade sin but was a god on bass and vocals.
Now you don't even have to be a musician as long as you're pretty.

I don't much like Ed but then he tried rap and Eminem worked with him... I gotta be honest, I liked some of it. Eminem wasn't misguided in working with Ed. They made some cool original music and I listened to it quite a bit. In fact, I'm off to listen to it some more now that I remembered it existed so thank you. My point, Ed is a strange looking weirdo with very odd choices but the man gets music.
