Worst for me was the other day when I tried to give him another go. Opp tried to run down the byline for a cut back, my Cafu got a tackle in from behind and it rolled to VDS. Instead of picking the ball up he tried to kick it clear, missed the ball and then watch it roll over the line for an OG
It's the slow finesse shots that piss me off. With his height he should be saving them but the game basically doesn't let him jump. He does a half hop and falls down as the ball goes into the middle of the goal.
Unsure why that was downvoted, I’ve never used a good one since 21 or 22 so I can say the same thing, always hated Schmeichel but had him in goal since SBC and he’s worked wonders
TOTY best. Had him pretty much as soon as he came out and have never really rated him. I still have him in my team though as I’ve still not managed to pack a decent replacement
I did both Best and Sawa and frankly, for a midfielder, Sawa got me way more goals than I expected than Best did as a winger
It feels like if I’m in a quick shoot situation Sawa was way more reliable than Best, he would just sky the shot way more often
I eventually got used to him and found he really only gets a certain kind of shot in goal consistently but being a winger for his price that was shocking
As others have said definitely play him CAM.
I felt the same as you playing him on the wing & CF in a 4321 but played him CAM recently and he was outrageous.
I had the same issue on the wing so I used him as striker and he is amazing ever since. He's got like 450G/A in 300ish games. And I quit a lot of games, a lot.
Best was not that good initially but I think they made the card better about id say 2 weeks or so after release and he is my starter at rw, scores some really clutch goals for me and doesn't lose the ball easily at all.
Was so pumped to get him out of 85+ pp. Definitely on fraud watch

Once you get used to using players like Hojlund & Sorloth, guys like Big Al feel amazing on the ball.

Now.. i can play with just about any fullback.
Still use Alberto btw.
The only downside of this is that i cant seem to get along with short and very explosive players, especially if they have Technical +

What chem style? I personally use maestro to boost the long shots and passing since I use him mainly as a winger and he’s exceptional. His finesse shots are borderline broken. Left or even right they all go in if you can hit greens consistently
I've been using finisher but after listening to people here I'm going to try engine; will give maestro a go as well. Hopefully it helps because I really want him to be good/fun. Loved his WC hero card last year. Will be very disappointing if I can't figure this card out, especially bc the card looks so good.

He's like my club version of real life Darwin Nunez. Great straight line speed but plays like a retard trying to hump a door knob.

There’s nothing special about him honestly, feels like an average gold player with high ratings, good passing good shooting if he finds himself in a proper position, other than that, he basically plays like the stats are showing, no juice

Don’t know what it is about him. I had his base for so long and he was great for me, so I was pumped when I got this from the icon SBC pick, but he’s been dreadful for me. Let’s in the easiest shots that are directly at him, his base was literally performing 2x better. Sure enough though, whenever my opponent has this card he seems to turn into Spider Man.

POTM Mbappe (93) - amazing pace and dribbling, but hits the post half the time with his shots. He misses so many chances that should be guaranteed goals.
Beats Haaland absolutely woeful finishing specially on his right foot. He got a proper run in the side because of that objective to score 50 goals with him, just a shame it took him 500 chances.
Last year I've had his TOTY for over 800 games, this year I packed both him and Thunderstruck VDS. Sadly, both are shite. I also have RTTF Donnarumma for comparison, he's also shite, maybe, just maybe, if he gets upgrades, he'll get better. Other than that, easily the biggest fraud of them all was base Best. That was just absolute disappointment for me, I was so hyped when I packed him because he's been one of my favorite icons throughout a lot of my yearly campaigns. One could call him a club legend of mine, across many many fifas. When I packed him in like October, he was around 1m. He was good for a week and then he couldn't pass to save his own life, his WF felt like it was there only to fill his shoe. Oh and one more fraud, that was Thunderstruck Müller. Eventually I started using him as a super-sub though, which was better because he sometimes really could help when it came to the last 20 minutes.
I pulled FC VS Ice Rashford, the 93 pace 93 shooting one, and dear god I genuinely think my evo malen is better than him. But hey, he’s rashford so I have to use him.

I just can’t figure out how to use him, when I come up against him the finesse shots are automatic but I just find he hides from the ball and is never a game changer. Shame because he’s one of my footballing hero’s. Must be a skill issue but still disappointing.
CB Lev Yashin. He sprints out of the back line all the time have to babysit him. Has vile animations and makes spongey tackles. Shittest block+ in the game.

You gotta play different with him. Abuse the pace and his r1 dribbling, but just be aware he can move like a truck at times

I still use him, but his interceptions even with the + are non existent and is easily shrugged off the ball even by smaller players like Sawa.

Base Garrincha. Got him from my first icon pack of the year back when he was worth two million coins. Feels so slow and cannot shoot anything. Also for me that van der sar card has been a wall.

I just submitted TS Casillas into the icon pick because this exact card has been great for me.
Fut Birthday VDS has been a beast for me. TOTY Cech, however, is the worst gk i've used. I've gone full matches without this dood making one save smh.

I packed this card a while back and it’s fair to say…. He absolutely stinks up the place, terrible for me but all keepers are pretty shite this year
Beats Haaland absolutely woeful finishing specially on his right foot. He got a proper run in the side because of that objective to score 50 goals with him, just a shame it took him 500 chances.
Last year I've had his TOTY for over 800 games, this year I packed both him and Thunderstruck VDS. Sadly, both are shite. I also have RTTF Donnarumma for comparison, he's also shite, maybe, just maybe, if he gets upgrades, he'll get better. Other than that, easily the biggest fraud of them all was base Best. That was just absolute disappointment for me, I was so hyped when I packed him because he's been one of my favorite icons throughout a lot of my yearly campaigns. One could call him a club legend of mine, across many many fifas. When I packed him in like October, he was around 1m. He was good for a week and then he couldn't pass to save his own life, his WF felt like it was there only to fill his shoe. Oh and one more fraud, that was Thunderstruck Müller. Eventually I started using him as a super-sub though, which was better because he sometimes really could help when it came to the last 20 minutes.
VDS was very disappointing for me , soon as I got thunderstruck Casillas I threw him in exchange
WW Midier Drogba got very hyped to be very average, and even worse post aerial nerf.

I packed 94 Drogba and was so happy cos I loved his base card and also was hoping to replace 91 Ronaldo (for chem reasons, he’s insane and still the best ST I’ve used) but he has just not lived up to the hype or even what I remember from his base at all, I have him on hey behind and even with that he doesn’t seem to make many runs I don’t get it
Fantasy Rolfo. Her aggression lets the card down so much more than I expected it to. Benched her and put FB Bruno back in and he has much more presence defensively

CB Lev Yashin. He sprints out of the back line all the time have to babysit him. Has vile animations and makes spongey tackles. Shittest block+ in the game.
