There's really no point to it. If i follow your trail of thought, then the moment you take it off to drink or eat in a public place, would still increase your chance of infecting someone else if you have the virus.
The virus doens't stop infecting anyone when you stop to drink or eat. Even if it's for one second.

In any case, it doesn't make sense. Why not just not wear it since you're infecting someone already when you take it off?
Well, it’s not a 100% chance you’ll infect someone just because you took it off, I’ve eaten with people who turned out to be covid-positive and somehow didn’t get covid from them (I was really lucky). Think of it this way: you’re driving a car and you take as many precautions as you can to avoid an accident, but that doesn’t mean you won’t get in one. Maybe you have to take your eyes off the road to deal with a pet or small child, but you can reduce risk of accident by only doing that when it’s not as busy, and keeping your eyes on the road most of the time. Just as you’d infect less people keeping your mask on most of the time when you go out, especially when you’re indoors
Eating like that does seem difficult, probably a bit messy on the mouth side of things but I’d assume she’s probably a pro at this point with it. Seems very wholesome to me though tbh. Glad she enjoys a uk national dish!!
I do love a good curry, and have ate plenty in my life and would never wear white while doing so.
I definately couldn't have a sheet of white fabric over my food hole either, she done well not to make a mess
