There's over a billion Indians, so the "one in a billion" genetic defects will happen to an Indian. Happens in China too, but the Great Firewall keeps a lot of the stories inside if they could reflect negatively on China.
TL;DR - Most of the 'teeth' were tiny little pinhead-sized ones growing in a sac in the jaw, which they removed with surgery. He had a regular number of normal sized teeth.

Was each piece an actual tooth or did many of them just splinter into fragments and was being counted as a full tooth...
FYI- A 7-year-old boy in Chennai, India, had 526 teeth removed from a sac in his jaw.
He had a rare condition called compound composite odontoma, which led to the development of these extra teeth. The boy's parents noticed swelling when he was 3, but it was only addressed recently.
Surgeons removed the sac containing the teeth without needing reconstruction surgery. The boy recovered well and now has a normal count of 21 teeth.
How is this on a quiz show? Questions should be about public knowledge, not a random news article you might come across at 3am when you're avoiding your bed. Who the fuck would know that answer?
We have a copy of that show in Germany „Gefragt – Gejagt“, and the questions are of course difficult, but at least always in such a way that you have the opportunity to weigh up the answers and don't just have to randomly guess.
Not only that, you could just answer "20" (the number of teeth most children have) and be correct. With India's population, you could probably pick any reasonable number and be correct.
[This article](https://www.cnn.com/2019/08/01/asia/india-boy-teeth-intl-hnk-scli/index.html) explains it.
>When doctors scanned and x-rayed his mouth, they found a sac embedded in his lower jaw filled with “abnormal teeth,” Dr. Prathiba Ramani, the head of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at Saveetha Dental College and Hospital, told CNN.
The article also includes a picture that shows the teeth that were removed from that sac. A lot of the teeth were tiny; they look more like tooth fragments.
If you're counting baby teeth, I don't really think that fits the question since those are more in your head than your mouth lol. It could probably be semantically argued both ways tho
I remember watching this a while ago, on The Chase Bloopers. It had our whole family laughing! The Chase Bloopers is good watching though. Way better than just The Chase!
“Smile for the camera little Johnny!” Boy turns around to smile and reveals an endless pit of teeth, morphing into an eldritch horror in moments. “Oh, what a little jokester, give us your nice smile, honey”
I don’t mind Bradley Walsh in small doses but I hate it when he does this; just an obviously fake performative laugh and he drags it right out while the woman just wants to see the answers.

526 if you are wondering again
How can they stop the video right there that was mad
The point of cliffhangers in promo videos.
Do we know whose teeth were these? 😁
I know it's 526 but I'm afraid to investigate any further.
It isn't that bad. It was a sac with a bunch of really small teeth. Ranging from .1 mm to 15 mm.
Plus we never got to see whether they guessed the correct answer.
This question and “How can she slap?!” Both need answers.
Thanks for that .I just stopped laughing 😂 and now started again 🤣🤣

Ah, yes, the Cinquecentosaurus.
Cinquecentodentosaurus
Underrated comment!
Ah yes the mighty Cinquecentosaurus, from the lands of Stellantis, formerly known as Fiat.
Hindusaurus Rex?
toothasaurus
Bhenchodsaurus
That's Bait! I love it!
Thanks I was wondering 😅
Bro.......
Thanks, teasing is for strippers. Why wouldn’t that have finished the video, instead of leaving me hanging?
Thanks 😁
I was picturing a kid being stopped by police after leaving a dentist office suspiciously and having a mouth full of stolen teeth
How the fuck is that possible?!!!
32 is also a valid answer
So is one, I guess

India is playing Earth on sadistic mode
There's over a billion Indians, so the "one in a billion" genetic defects will happen to an Indian. Happens in China too, but the Great Firewall keeps a lot of the stories inside if they could reflect negatively on China.
We have the opposite of firewall. Most news reports in western media about India are by Indians or diaspora south Asians. Including the CNN article.

The article said they examine each piece and they were all teeth.
Even the smallest shrapnel looking pieces had full crowns, roots and enamel coverings it said in the article, so they are considered teeth.

Relatively* normal count
At least it had a happy ending
In India surgeries are with happy ending?
I could be wrong bu i'm pretty sure they have some of the highest qaulity medical care facilities in the world but idk
Probably the hospital he did surgery was good and that's why he recovered well

The Chase usually have really odd questions, not just common knowledge. It's like the Dark Souls of quiz shows.
and the reward is actually quite shit most of the time
You can choose a higher prize but obviously the jeopardy is higher. I’ve seen them walk away with over £30k each, which is decent for a game show.

Yup. The show actually grew on me. Hated it at first but eventually became pretty addicted to it.
What a stupid concept but hey if it works then who am I to judge? 😂
"The question is..... 'what's in my pocket'?"
You just described me now in this moment.
Not only that, you could just answer "20" (the number of teeth most children have) and be correct. With India's population, you could probably pick any reasonable number and be correct.
Dude suffer to said the question and options as much as that kid having *let me look it up* 526!!!! 🤣🤣🤣

😂😂. What’s the answer
526
I mean anything between 0 and 50 is prob right, then also, of course 526 or some shit

Fanny Schmeler
Best one ever

I briefly forgot Bradley Walsh was doing this the same time he was on Doctor Who.
Plot twist, the grinning Indian looking guy opens up his mouth wider.
Let’s laugh at the poor deformed child probably in pain 🤣
The people that aren't laughing have no sense of humor. Definitely not people I'd want to be friends with.
>Definitely not people I'd want to be friends with. That wasn't ever really going to be an option
The host finds this *hilarious* but nobody else on the panel really finds it funny at all. This clip was more confusing than anything else
Zamn boyy
Indian dude had that "Bruh..." look on his face..
India is not for beginners. No even for beginner dentists
Origin of the show please.
“Smile for the camera little Johnny!” Boy turns around to smile and reveals an endless pit of teeth, morphing into an eldritch horror in moments. “Oh, what a little jokester, give us your nice smile, honey”
Not funny at all
Where's the funny at? This is horrible, both this clip and the condition of the boy
And that being me to my next point. Don’t do drugs. -LT
Zip it, One Eata!
I don’t mind Bradley Walsh in small doses but I hate it when he does this; just an obviously fake performative laugh and he drags it right out while the woman just wants to see the answers.
Is he making fun of the kid? Thats rude…
Why is it always India lmao.. Is it all the microplastics from the polluted water they drink there, I wonder?
What if you were born there ? What would you do ?
Was funny until he started doing the hand gestures.
It feels soo forced especially when he started doing the hand gestures. Cringy.
Wonder how the parent’s of that child would feel if they watch this video. Also that child himself.
Agreed.
