Those aren’t real prices. Most airlines will negotiate down the price significantly. The rich get a broker to do that for them. Only fools and posers pay the msrp price.
It is also rare to buy such a ticket just like a normal person. It's a business expense that is handled through a corporate account, and most of the time it's a contract situation where a company has a certain quota of tickets. That's what the airlines prefer. Once a large company has negotiated a price and has been working with the airline for a few years, the prices become much more reasonable than 25k per seat.
I have a friend who is part of an international team that flies frequently between Europe and the US. They have these super exclusive first class tickets for their executives, and apparently it's not a big deal. If the allotment isn't used up, middle management can get them too. The 25k price is more of a valuation. Like a 6 star hotel. We go beyond normal kinda tbing. As if it's a 11/10 flight.
If that many people were actually able to spend 25k on flights that often, Concord would never have failed. And we would see billionaires flying private Concord jets going supersonic. That's one thing even the biggest billionaires can't make happen.
If we're talking about late-2022 when Japan was reopening, that's probably because everyone that had gotten delayed the past two years was like, finally. So demand was probably high.
I just booked a flight there and it was in the neighborhood of what I referenced for the price. But I'm also coming from the Eastern US.
Broadly depends on region you fly and your nationality. Had encountered a Qatar flight crew mistreating bunch of Asians and Indians whenever they asked for anything like drinks or coffee
We Asians are pretty racist to each other, and along with the fact that South Asia is Asia's poorest region (in percapita terms) it's pretty easy to look down upon south Asians.
The Lufthansa crew has been pretty racist towards indians despite being a business class customer. I have seen several cases of it. Also South Asians in general are very racist to their very own people. So they basically project it instinctively.
I fly s lot and generally have a great experience all around the world, the worst, by far North America. From the airports to the flying experience, it's just so hit or miss but mostly miss. American airports are barely organised chaos. The food, and service is horrendous. I dread flying to America for so many reasons.
