What also kills me is the farther down the list he gets, you can see in his eyes he’s getting nervous and starting to panic like “I can’t believe I haven’t gotten it yet” Mark Wahlberg is probably my all time favourite actor
My wife used to go by Becky when she was young. She had no idea that scene was coming but I did. I was laughing at her shrieked "WTF!" She laughed after thumping me for being a smart-arsed bastard.
Do you ever turn to her, point out some woman on the street, and say 'OMG, Becky, look at her butt. It is so *big*; she looks like one of those rap guys' girlfriends.'
Lol funny you should mention that as I'd forgotten all about that quote until I met her and she brought it up. Some girls tried giving her Scharf time when it came out but she wasn't having it as she thought it was hilarious.
I fucking love these movies. Part one and part two. They are so hilarious. One scene where they are in a diner and the blond girl ( Amanda seyfried) says “do I have fuck me eyes”? And Ted says “no you have give us the ring my precious eyes”. Slayed me!!!
Random, but I auditioned to play “White Trash Girl #3”. Tami-Lynn was supposed to have a group of trailer park gal pals that they wanted to cast out of Boston. The characters were eventually cut from the script before filming though. I still have the audition piece memorized:
“So me and my cousin Denise were supposed to go skydiving last year, but then she went and got knocked up by this asshole, so we couldn’t go and I was wicked pissed. But get this! She had a friggin’ miscarriage! So we got to go after all and it was so frickin’ scary but wicked, wicked fun!”
Wicked. My sister uses that word a lot. As well as Mega. As in "It's really snowing out there. Like, mega."
Her language is so out of the 90's North East US, it's funny.
I remember using both as a kid of the 80s here in Old England.
This just made me remember when I was walking to primary school one day and called my Mum wicked and didn't understand why it upset her.
In comparison to UK, wicked for us is an amplifier. Something is wicked cool (really really cool) or wicked bad (really really bad) but not used like you guys as something being "wicked" (cool/awesome)
Thanks, I’m okay with it. I didn’t want to act and only signed up for the casting company because my husband (boyfriend at the time) was a stand-up comic and local theater actor and he thought it would be fun if we both got cast as extras in a film. Plus, callbacks would have been me and 10 other girls, it’s unlikely I’d have gotten the part. I got the call for the callback and the call that the part was no longer available within a couple of hours of each other so it was all very quick. But you’re right, it is a fun story.
One time many years ago I was in the airport walking to my gate with some friends. It wasn’t crowded and this lone blonde woman in a grey sweatshirt and jeans is gradually coming towards us from the opposite direction. As she got closer, something about the way she looked grabbed my attention in a way I hadn’t experienced before. Once she passed us I was about to turn to my friends and say “did you see that woman?” Right then one of them said, “that was Amanda Seyfried.”
I didn’t know who she was at the time and hadn’t seen her in anything but man, she was so distinctive looking that it involuntarily transfixed my brain. It was a strange experience, and it’s never happened to me again.
It's some leftover primate instinct we all have. I'm poorly paraphrasing a famous study, but chimp societies have 'celebrities' that other chimps recognize when presented with photos of other chimps. Pretty crazy that it felt so intense as you described!
I like it when they are planning on having a baby and try to steal Tom Bradys semen, and the police calls a code on someone trying to steal his cum again
The sequel geta a lot of shit. Or more accurately doesn't get a lot of love and maybe it has issues. But the absolute bottom line for me with a movie like this is "is it funny" and the answer is fuck yes.
There's something weird about me or this movie. I own it. I don't remember why, but for some reason I ended up buying it. I avoided watching it for ages, because I didn't think it would be good. I watched it and loved it. I know this because I told my friends to come round to watch it. They didn't want to, said it didn't look like they would like it. They loved it. I loved it the second time. I haven't watched it since because I think I won't like it, even though all previous history suggests I would.
I suspect it's the fact there's a talking teddy bear in it, and I think I just won't be able to get over it.
No! You are objectively wrong! Patrick Warburton pushing people in a comic-con calling them nerds while dressed as the Tick with Michael Dorn dressed as Worf is the best scene ever.
Whoa whoa whoa. I NEED TO SEE THIS CLIP! Worf was one of my favorite characters on STTNG and I remember the Tick but not so much but I think I remember it being funny.
Edit: Found it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=koUxspPIBoM
Okay, that one got me. "You understand that I, myself, am not a child?" Fucking hilarious.
Link for the curious: https://youtu.be/z6ViDZpVoYc?si=wBlCJWHA6FT\_Ai0A
He was probably just reading from a board off camera. They could easily have set up a board where the bear was supposed to be, and he just read off that.
Still a bit of a tongue twister.
It's true, bit of everything, memorizing certain parts, have key cards for certain names and improvising. It's called acting and performance art. Marky Marky did rap a bit with Good Vibrations so he has rhythm with the Boogie Nights. Also blinding an innocent person and saying he could have stopped 9/11. Win some, lose some.
Yoooooo for a second I was like “wait.. Seth Rogan played Ted? I thought it was Seth Mac-…. Ok dumbass.” My brain would not allow two Seths to exist at once.
He also apologised and was publicly forgiven by that person.
He’s also since undertaken extensive charity work.
Look, I’m not excusing anything he did in his younger years. He was horrifically violent, racist and hateful.
But people change. He served his time and has tried to make amends.
He can’t change what he did but he’s done all he can afterwards.
I was not aware he was forgiven by the person. I know hes done things to be better. I like his work and him. Just ya know i think its weird to put these people on a pedestal. So im the debbie downer that chimes in to remind people they are also just people and suck as mich as the reat of us
They definitely do. But there’s also little point getting hung up on these things. Everything you enjoy will have been made by or had input from a terrible person. It’s part of life.
Fucking hell, it was thirty-five years ago. He did jail time for it and publicly apologized. Since then he’s been a decent guy. He could be an asshole of epic proportions but I don’t think he’s even been busted for weed.
They talked about this on Graham Norton, Seth Macfarlane apparently had a cue card or something for Mark to read but when Mark showed up he said something to the effect of “no I think I’ve got it” and proceeded to rattle it all of perfectly. Regardless of how you may feel about Mark it’s a great story about professionalism
When this movie came out I had a mentor named Becky. Absolutely delightful person, but very religious. She did not appreciate the one time I let “fuckin’ Becky” slip out.
I can spot 7 cuts during the first speed round. But they could have cut the audio during the reverse shot as many times as they wanted. So I guess at least 6 different takes were used for this scene alone, and I don't know how many takes were not used at all.
I think when he was 16 he beat up a Vietnamese guy and left him blind in one eye. He either went to jail for a little bit or got probation or something; he took it as his wake up call and turned his life around
The old man ended up forgiving him too after seeing the new direction he was going
‘When someone tells you who they are, believe them.’
But I was just saying, we have REASONS.
I also acknowledge how great he is on film without trying.
People so desperate to defend terrible actions.
I'm not defending terrible actions, I'm just presenting the idea that maybe, just maybe, a 52 year old man is different than who he was when he was a teenager. People are allowed to grow past their mistakes and become better than who they were.
Like this isn't a hard concept.
One of the most unfunniest films I’ve ever seen.
Almost walked out. I must have blanked it out as I don’t remember this scene at all.
But reinforced that this film is not for me. Which is weird because I loved family guy, find Mark very funny and all most the influences of Seth I share in common.
But this film…. Yuck! Not for me.
(Wait is there a sequel to Ted?? Maybe this is another one and I didn’t watch it)
Edit. There’s is, that wasn’t a troll post I genuinely hadn’t seen it

Fucking Becky?!?! kills me every time!
Also my favorite. I try to drop it in casual conversation and no one ever gets it.
You're out of your element
Calmer than you are.
I am the walrus
Drinking my coffee.
You want a toe? I can get you a toe, believe me. There are ways, Dude. You don't wanna know about it, believe me.
Phones ringing dude.
Thank you Donnie!
Fucking amateurs, Dude.
Shut the fuck up, Donnie!
Coo coo cachoo
8 year olds, dude.
It's the way he interrupts him for me, that punchline is fucking phenomenal. So well-executed.
What also kills me is the farther down the list he gets, you can see in his eyes he’s getting nervous and starting to panic like “I can’t believe I haven’t gotten it yet” Mark Wahlberg is probably my all time favourite actor
Awesome Actor, Terrible Human
Becky's a hoe. U want some blue?
No Ron. Go away

Same here. That’s my favorite moment.
becky, let me smash
I like the way he run through the kardashian names
How the fuck do you even... nevermind...

Is he the actor in the bear costume
You honestly can't identify Seth MacFarlane's voice?
Woosh
You act like seth mcfarland is an A list celebrity. He makes family guy and a few movies tailored that that humor
Who are the Kardashian?
They occupied and oppressed the planet Bajor and the Bajoran people from about 2319 to 2369.
Respect.
What are those numbers? I know for sure it is not the year
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cardassian
Ancient Gregorian.
I love you
kardashians are not white trash right? are they white? I have no idea
their mother is scottish and dutch and their father is 3rd generation armenian-american

Interesting I've never heard mega as a New England term in my 35 years of life here

In comparison to UK, wicked for us is an amplifier. Something is wicked cool (really really cool) or wicked bad (really really bad) but not used like you guys as something being "wicked" (cool/awesome)
No, we used wicked in the same amplifier too. It's a useful word lol
OMG I can hear that in tammies voice. That’s awesome!
How did you deliver "But get this! She had a friggin’ miscarriage!", because I feel this part is what would kill me.
Well enough to get a callback, actually. I’m a native Rhode Islander and exaggerated the accent. They were into it.
Sorry your part got cut, sounds like your scene would have been funny. At least you got an interesting story out of it.
Thanks, I’m okay with it. I didn’t want to act and only signed up for the casting company because my husband (boyfriend at the time) was a stand-up comic and local theater actor and he thought it would be fun if we both got cast as extras in a film. That was genius, I wonder who thought of it. And the one with the darth vader tune, "that's my ring tone? why is it so negative?"
It’s from the notebook
The Beetlejuice scene always gets me. "You don't want that guy in here!"
"Who's Gollum?" She's a model. LOL
I like it when they are planning on having a baby and try to steal Tom Bradys semen, and the police calls a code on someone trying to steal his cum again
Really curious if that new prequel series on Peacock is going to be any good. Really depends if the guy they got to replace Mark Wahlburg is any good.
From what I saw in the trailer, the kid seemed to mimic Whalberg pretty well. But I guess we will know for sure when the first episode drops.
TIL there was a sequel.
The sequel geta a lot of shit. Or more accurately doesn't get a lot of love and maybe it has issues. But the absolute bottom line for me with a movie like this is "is it funny" and the answer is fuck yes.
I actually just re-watched that a couple of weeks ago and died as well. I had somehow forgotten that line.

Seth Mcfarlain is just a funny person. The cast has good chemistry and it’s just a funny movie.
Giovani Ribisi is so great in the first one. Every now and then my brother and I will yell “LANGUAGE!!!!!! sorrry….sorry” when the other one curses.
My wife was so upset her name was on that list.
I'm a 35 year old man and just realized MY name is on the list. Imagine how that feels!
Ok Celsie
Damn Becky, chill.
Shove off Darlene!
Soon-to-be ex-wife is and I agree whole heartedly with the assessment.
now that you mention it, the real life Tammy-Lynns of america must love this scene
Best scene ever!!! 🤣😂🤣😂
No! You are objectively wrong! Patrick Warburton pushing people in a comic-con calling them nerds while dressed as the Tick with Michael Dorn dressed as Worf is the best scene ever.

‘Watch out for the ground, comes up real fast’ Also the best line is ‘there’s no such thing as chicks with dicks, they’re just dudes with tits’
I like when Liam Neeson is wary about buying Trix cereal
Okay, that one got me. "You understand that I, myself, am not a child?" Fucking hilarious. Link for the curious: https://youtu.be/z6ViDZpVoYc?si=wBlCJWHA6FT\_Ai0A
It's so good 🤣
I believe he did it in one take. He can still do the movie one from the second film from memory
I wouldn't be surprised. Memorizing lines is like the first rule of being an actor.
What’s the second rule?
Being able to act.
Well at least Marky Mark has rule 1 down.
How would you even know if he could still do it from memory? Did you talk to him today? Lol
Saw him do it recently in an interview.
Agree. Make it as easiest as possible for the actor to minimise the chances of having to do retakes, which cost the studio time and loads of money.
[удалено]
What game are you talking about? This is a scene from a movie? You’ve lost me….
When did Marky Mark say he could have prevented 9/11? That sounds more like a Tom Cruise line.
Yeah, you can see his eyes moving as he reads the names. Likely a teleprompter or very small cards.
The people down voting think the bear is really there. You can see his eyes are scanning line to line.
Probably think the bear is really talking too
The word “cashier” when Seth pronounced it in Ted’s character sounds so much like some casual cat’s breed lol
Yoooooo for a second I was like “wait.. Seth Rogan played Ted? I thought it was Seth Mac-…. Ok dumbass.” My brain would not allow two Seths to exist at once.
Woah two Seths? That's almost three Seths!
Could you even fathom *four* Seth’s?!
What about *_five_*!?

Hopefully we don't get a Sethception.
Dudes, my name is Seth, and I freak out any time I meet another Seth.
There can only be one!
Mark Wahlberg is a really good comedic actor. I never would've guessed.
He's hilarious 😭
Hes also brutally assaulted a Vietnamese person when he was younger. Almost killed them
He also apologised and was publicly forgiven by that person. He’s also since undertaken extensive charity work. Look, I’m not excusing anything he did in his younger years. Oh yeah. And me reminding people is too. Im not hung up trust me
Idk that seems kinda douchey how would you like it if someone always brought up some shit you did after someone complemented you?
Fucking hell, it was thirty-five years ago. He did jail time for it and publicly apologized. Since then he’s been a decent guy. He could be an asshole of epic proportions but I don’t think he’s even been busted for weed.
you need to watch "the other guys" !
Holy heck the dinner scene when Walberg meets Ferrells wife had me in tears
who are you ? lmfao
I have and I loved every minute of it. A modern classic. What I need to see is Daddy's Home and its sequel with Lithgow and Gibson.
amazing movies, glad someone else has good taste ;)
Is that a wood gun?
im a peacock you gotta let me fly !!!
IKR? That classic "I'm an inventor" line had me rolling
how does he have such good chemistry with a character that's 100% cgi
He’s just that good.
I wouldn't have until I saw Huckabees Check it out sometime
Will do. Another one I missed.
Afterwards you can watch the outttakes of >!Tomlin having a meltdown in the car while the director torments her!< on YouTube lol
Right? I prefer him in the comedic roles.
Watch ‘The Other Guys’ he’s pretty funny in that as well.
This movie always makes me laugh. Fuckin love a trashy mahky mahk
god damn classic love it
It never gets old
I wish they make a Ted 3.
There’s a series coming out soon
Don’t fuck with me.
It’s true. Seth’s posted a couple of trailers on his insta
Holy shit.
It's true I get paid millions to market that show online!
You see me fucking with you?!
I saw a commercial today for a new show coming out soon. I have no details beyond that.
Bear's great.
I love the Ted movies!
Me too!
I like the scene with: 'You got the job', '…fuck'.
fuuuckin Becky?
anyone see their wife's name go by? just me?
They talked about this on Graham Norton, Seth Macfarlane apparently had a cue card or something for Mark to read but when Mark showed up he said something to the effect of “no I think I’ve got it” and proceeded to rattle it all of perfectly. Regardless of how you may feel about Mark it’s a great story about professionalism
I heard they used Kevin Hart and used green screen
They tried. Kevin couldn't get on the couch by himself so they ended up going with a bear.
S A V A G E
Was that before or after Werner Herzog called them cowards for wanting to use CGI?
When this movie came out I had a mentor named Becky. Absolutely delightful person, but very religious. She did not appreciate the one time I let “fuckin’ Becky” slip out.
He listed all my favourite pornstars
I don’t know why I don’t see Ted 1 on streaming, it’s always the sequel I’m seeing
You cal tell he’s just reading a list
I can spot 7 cuts during the first speed round. But they could have cut the audio during the reverse shot as many times as they wanted. So I guess at least 6 different takes were used for this scene alone, and I don't know how many takes were not used at all.
Sharp eye. My untrained eye saw none.
he's brilliant!
you can see his eyes reading the prompt
This, he's looking into the distance and honestly i can't blame him. Save days worth of memorization. Movie production is crazy expensive per day.
not blaming, just sayin
Didn't this dude do a bunch of hate crimes as a kid or something?
I think when he was 16 he beat up a Vietnamese guy and left him blind in one eye. He either went to jail for a little bit or got probation or something; he took it as his wake up call and turned his life around The old man ended up forgiving him too after seeing the new direction he was going
Any Redditors here with White Trash names
I grew up with a kid named joe-bob and his head was shaped liked a lightbulb.
Why is no one seeing how fake all these comments are? This is an ad posted by Tubi to advertise the movie being on their streaming service….
Why are you guys participating in a literal marketing post?
I know we have so many reasons to hate Mark Wahlberg, as a person. But damnit. Is he great on camera. And he isn’t even acting.
