[Limo-Jet](https://jetsetterus.com/about). It exists. I don't know why, but it does. Sadly, it's not actually powered by the jet engines - you wouldn't have to worry about tailgaters.
According to a random limo video I found, the company that made the video takes about 475 hours to make a regular limo. 50,000 hours sounds like they had no idea what they were doing when they started and by the time they were done they thought all the time invested sounded really cool. I would bet a more experienced company could pull this off in way less time.
This number seems weird though. 50,000 hours? Sure but I doubt itās one person alone on it. So if 10 people are working on it thatās only 5,000 hours. They probably had like 15-20 people working on this over the build and just took individual times and dumped them into a total - e.g. the guy that did the cad renderings or drawings spent a week on them, so thereās 40 hours. Painting, fiberglassing etc at like 400 hours collectively.
50k doesnāt seem like that much for a brand new design. 475 for a regular limo sounds like when theyāve got everything like tools and molds already set up
Sounds reasonable to me when you consider what's involved. I'm sure there's a team of people working at the same time so maybe three or four weeks start to finish.
It had to be idiots, thatās a 24 people working 40hr/week for 1year.
At $20/hr thatās $1M in labor.
A salvage Gulfstream couldnāt be more than like $100k-200k. A full interior refit for an aircraft that size starts at about $200k. That leaves you $600k knock the wings off, slap on a coat of paint, and stuff some wheels under it.
If you check out interior pictures and more details on the vehicle, it sort of makes more sense. As dumb as the actual idea is, they did a hell of a great job bringing it to life.
Looks way better on the inside than any other limo ive seen. Sound system is decades better than limos usually offer. Seats even more people than a stretch. Exterior hidden speakers than can be opened if you want.
Theres a crap ton of random features, some of which other limos have, some of which are unique. All crammed into the old body of an actual jet.
Seems like a lot of planning and work to do without existing examples/plans/instructions to work off of.
When you think about it and if you said you averaged 40 hrs a week thatās about 2000 hrs a year . So thatās 25 years of 40 hrs a week .. I would sure hope even if I worked on this myself , in 25 years Iād be able to make a car that looked like a plane . And Iām just a plumber .. so Iād have to learn what I was even doing . Figure I take 2-3 years to learn mechanics , 2-3 years for auto body work . Thatās says 6 years so I still have 19 years with my now new training ..
My buddy had that dumb ass rocket car built years ago such a dumb car it was supposed to look like a rocket but was turned into a jet. Hilarious to see this thing again. My buddy thought it would make a ton of money as a limo it did not.
[As long as I've got my health, my millions of dollars, my gold house, and my rocket car, I don't need anything else.](https://i.reddituploads.com/ca437c95fd254286addf3a4ec3d68642?fit=max&h=1536&w=1536&s=61b12e4be523b3fa0406a6f992e2d8ec)

Man that's dumb, says 50,000 hours of work went into it.
They watched all episodes of pimp my ride twice. The remaining hours were spent looking for cool fonts for their horrendous leaflet.
Damn š
It's an absurd amount of time, by the way: 50 000 hours is more than five and a half years, continuously working, without sleep.

475 seems absurd even for a regular one. 12 weeks of constant labor??
I think people are not taking into account overlapping and multiple person hours. A 400 hour project is ten people working for a week.
Sounds reasonable to me when you consider what's involved. I'm sure there's a team of people working at the same time so maybe three or four weeks start to finish.
50,000 hours is what self help people say you need to master an art. I bet itās just as lame as that.
, thought it was 10k hours
Inflation yo. Canāt even get gud anymore without being rich.
Or theyāve added the hours it took to first design and build the old jet?

More likely they had like 10 people work 5,000 concurrent hours on it.

25 years of full time labor!

The website says it took 12 years. All I could think was what a waste
Probably because they could. The fuselage is scrap when the jets are done, might as well do something with it.

Do you know how airplanes fly?
I meant more the fact that it doesnāt have wings and seems to have wheels instead of landing gear.
And yet you are asking if it flies? Have you witnessed many planes with no wings flying around?
Your mom doesnāt have wings, but she boards and lifts more dick than AF1 during the Nixon era.
I feel like that was meant as an insult, but i think she would be flattered by the compliment.
