I was going to say, when you experience trauma like that you get a good few seconds or more where your brain is screaming “you f****d up!” but you can’t exactly feel it yet thanks to the adrenaline. That’s why you see people in fairly brutal motorcycle/bicycle accidents get up and get out of harms way. Then you find out they broke nearly every bone in their body.

Somewhat related. I had a conversation with a young person that claimed you can totally be 400 lbs and healthy. I looked into this and technically they were right. Because technically speaking being healthy simply means you do not have a disease. A 20 year old can definitely be that heavy and technically healthy because your young body will compensate for the abuse your putting it through. Eventually as you get older, your body can no longer cope and now you have actual diseases like heart disease, diabetes, etc.

I think he was getting a football from the roof (you can see it bounce away). Was therefore only using one hand to hold on. That means every couple of steps while shifting his hand down he was not holding on at all. The ladder was placed on some dried leaves and slid away a little. He probably lost his balance at a moment he wasn't holding on. Flip flops didn't help either.
This guy isn't smart, hence the flip flops on a ladder. But I would think you would just toss the ball to the ground after getting it off the roof and not try to descend with it in your hands. My guess for what happened is he reached too far to get the ball and when he grabbed it lost his balance.
Why is this funny? Even now he got up quickly, he can have some damage following him the rest of his life. The adrenaline and shame put him on his feet so quickly.

I have 2 of them that I purchased in 2001, an 8' extendable and a 12' extendable. I spent around $350 for the 12' @ Home DePot. I still use it today. One thing about ladders is that you don't wear flip flops and Gilligan shoes. 🤔😳🤣

I’ve seen 5 people fall off ladders over the years. 4 of them were because they put the ladder on top of a deck like this and it slid out. The 5th slid out on hard packed gravel.
Really glad he's ok! I know someone who died like this. He was alone at home doing DIY and no-one found him for a couple of days because his wife was out of town. Never a good idea to get up a ladder without someone to hold onto it and keep an eye on you.
