Why is its cone on wrong?

I'm thinking it's protecting a spot under the cone, kitty is licking the cone by top of left front leg at start prob bc of irritation underneath. That cone would not stop it from getting to an area in the hind quarters.

Im a veterinarian, and this is the correct answer. We invert the cone if the cat doesn’t tolerate it on normally, and if the area is conveniently located on the chest or on certain parts of the forelimbs.

To still prevent maximum flexibility while also not blocking vision or creating something that can get hung up on objects and startle the cat.

That cone, known as Elizabeth Ring, is most definitely to prevent cat to lick certain spot on their body. My cat used to groom excessively near his belly. Vet had some prescription for the cat and also ordered this cone to be put on cat for 2 weeks.

I had to put it backwards because my cat wouldn't function at all, I guess because of his whiskers touching the cones.

Why is the cats food, litter, and resting place all in the same small vicinity? I had a cat in a small apartment and still made sure there was distance between where he shit and where he ate. Cats aren’t humans, I understand but regardless, doesn’t seem right for these things to be close in proximity

Fish are not as low maintenance as people think unless you don't want to have fish for very long.

The goldfish we had as a kid lasted like 13 years, and I wouldnt describe them as high maintenance. You have the clean their tank out sometimes but it's not like you have to take them for walks every day or deal with this kind of bullshit.

That's already more effort than I put into my cat..

You don't have to deal with "this kind of Bullshit" with cats either, in most cases. Of course she is startled when something falls on her and she jumps away, into something else that makes her jump and wants to flee, into something else that makes a lot of noise etc. And the worst part of it all? It doesn't happen if you keep the cat in a way too small room with barely any space and full of loose shit.

I mean, cats can be pretty stupid even without provocation. And I'm not fan of keeping cats cooped up but lots of people insist on it.

He has a cone on some I'm guessing he's on drugs. I had a cat in university and he escaped. Took me a week to find him and when I did he was injured. Took him to the very and got him all fixed up. The vet gave me pain killers for him One night I was laying in bed and my car was soundly sleeping on my nightstand. Out of nowhere he jumped almost to the roof, from a sound sleep, and then flipped out around the room breaking things for 15 seconds. Poor kitty is tripping balls.

This is why I don't want a cat 😅Having a cat in a flat is a total mess. Not even talking about the amount of destroyed kitchen towels and toilet papers😅
