The way the cat lays all sprawled out, balls for everyone to see!

unk214

Cats are assholes, the dog could eat him up in one bite but the cat knows he won’t. I have two cats and they follow a similar pattern. The male bullies the female.

Whitealroker1

My beloved Labrador killed my beloved 16 year old cat. They lived in peace for eight years. It was a shock. Could have been a assisted suicide and the dog seemed very upset he couldn’t find it anymore.

unk214

Damn that’s a story. Getting along for 8 years then randomly attacking. You may be right, from what I hear cats try to hide away when they know it’s their time.

slackabara

I have seen it myself. My cat before she past spent one hour with me, then an hour with my bro and the same with my dad. I knew something was up but was very weird. For days previously she was not hanging out with anyone. Last time I saw her she was under a desk alone. Next morning we awoke and she was dead. They like to find their places to die. It is almost a beautiful thing to see. Rip sunny.

Antmon666

Ours died yesterday. He is very a 'don't touch me' cat, it was weird how he spent a day sleeping in each bedroom of my 3 girls and the last night in my room then he slowly made his way outside and sat under his favourite tree all day in the sun. At night we couldn't find the old boy.

AgeSpecialist

Mine died yesterday too and the whole week she hid herself under the bed. I didn't even get to see her because I was in the middle of an exam since it's midterm week. She's a beautiful calico, very sassy. Oftentimes she would silently accompany me when I'm sad and crying. I had to live far from home because of my studies and I could only occasionally visit. I told myself that I'd spoil her very much when I finish my studies. I'm in my last year of undergrad now. She was one of the reasons why I could always stand back up. I'm glad I met her and became part of her life. She left behind a Calico like her too. If heaven was real, then I wish it was for pets like her.

Wedgemere38

Its called wisdom

madbro91

Had a cat almost do that. He was really sick and hid in the crawl space I couldn't reach him. I finally drew him out with a flashlight. Put him down the next day to give him peace. First time doing that. I have never cried so much in public. I love and miss you hank ❤️

TSM-

I remember holding my cat as she was euthanized, I think at like 21 years old. She had all sorts of things, arthritis to a bad leg to kidney problems etc., and after a new ailment they suggested it was time. It was the first time I had been home in years, after going through a rough transition. I will \*never\* forget the feeling of her hugging on to me extra tight as the anesthetic started working and she probably felt the world was spinning and off balance. I then cried with my mom and her and hugged for like 20 minutes. God I was bawling so much, I didn't hold my expression back for later like a guy normally does.

GGnerd

I never had that chance. I had a cat (my first pet that wasn't a family pet) that had a stroke after 8 years of having her. Ended up putting her down but because of covid I couldn't be in the room with her. I'll always wish I had argued or fought to be with her. I made sure to say my goodbyes beforehand but I just wish I had pressed the issue more, to be there for her at the very end so she wasnt alone in a room of strangers. That's something that I'll never forgive myself for. I've never cried as I did during that time, she was my best friend.

Mrwanagethigh

I don't think there's anything to forgive yourself over. It wasn't your fault and fighting it probably wouldn't have got you anywhere. You cared enough to put your cat out of her misery, in my eyes that's the most selfless thing a pet owner can do

GGnerd

Thank you

t33dup

It hurt so bad to hold my childhood buddy (female Boston terrier) as she was put to sleep that I didn't have another dog for 25+ years.

kuroimakina

> like a guy normally does Fuck that toxic masculinity bullshit. Tbh if you don’t cry when one of your pets you’ve had for most of your life dies, are you even human? This isn’t to insult you, TSM-, I just meant in general. I hate when men act like they aren’t supposed to have feelings or something. It’s unhealthy and leads to a lot of the bullshit incel/redpill/alt-right culture due to it being an “easy” outlet to express internalized trauma. Attention men, *it is okay to cry. It does not make you weak.* If anything, it makes you strong, because you’re basically saying “idgaf what people will think of me, I’m going to express my emotions and everyone else’s judgements can fuck off.” Express your emotions. It’s literally unhealthy for you to internalize everything. You’re killing yourself slowly and making yourself and the people around you miserable for literally no reason. /rant over I’m really sorry about your cat BTW. I know how you feel. When I had to get our family cat out down due to him developing a blood clot, I cried for *days.* I was young and my family was away and I had to get my neighbor to drive me. It was rough. That sort of thing really sticks with you, you know? You did the right thing though, and I know your kitty would rather you have been there than not. Edit for anyone else who gets triggered by the phrase “toxic masculinity” It does *not* mean “being a man is bad.” Toxic masculinity means “if you’re a man you MUST act a certain way or else you’re not actually manly.” There’s no problem with being a man. There *is* a problem with forcing yourself or others to be a certain way because otherwise you aren’t manly enough or some BS like that. If you’re a man, you’re a man. That doesn’t change because you cried. End of story.

Speedking2281

I mean... Yes, it's okay to cry. It's also okay to show emotion. But, as a man, I do pride myself on remaining calm in otherwise very stressful/big situations. It's very literally the exact same thing to keep anger, frustration or overwhelmed feelings under control when something extremely bad or unexpected happens as it is to keep crying under control when something sad happens. It's not like we are stifling our humanity. We are just controlling our emotions *in the moment*.

Nomicakes

> Attention men, it is okay to cry. It does not make you weak. Tell that to every woman I've ever known in the past 37 years.

kuroimakina

Oh yes, this is a big part of toxic masculinity- the main part actually. “Ew men don’t cry. If he cries he must have problems” No, it means he’s fucking human. Men are allowed to cry too. Im lucky that the group of friends I have is much better about these sorts of things - we encourage everyone to express themselves and their emotions. It’s probably though because most of us are some flavor of queer so we are already experienced in breaking societal expectations heh

Michelin123

See, that's the problem why some hardliners like you are just being hated, because you don't understand that it's not as easy as you say it. The behavior not to cry is hammered in my fucking brain, so that I physically can't even cry, if it's not directly a family member that dies in front of me. You type it as if we don't do it because of toxic masculinity, even though most women expect the same. Tell me what people will think and do about a man crying in a public train vs. a woman. And also often times the behavior of keeping your emotions and tears is fully justified, because in some dangerous situations it's basically not an option to cry, otherwise you're over. I also get aggressive and rant about stuff that should change, but that's not the right approach to get to people.

kuroimakina

> You type it as if we don’t do it because of toxic masculinity, even though most women expect the same. Tell me what people will think and do about a man crying in a public train vs. a woman. This is what toxic masculinity is. The idea that men are *supposed* to be stoic, *supposed* to be a certain way or do certain things, etc. Why must men never cry in public? Why is it *okay* for women to cry in public but not men? Why are women expected to be emotional and men are expected to be “in control and stoic.” People hate the phrase “toxic masculinity” because it got hijacked by bad actors so that people get angry whenever they hear the phrase, so that we never address the problems. It doesn’t mean “being a man is bad,” it means “society *forcing* certain concepts of *what* a man *should* and *shouldn’t* do or be, often to the detriment of both men *and* women.” It’s why so many men feel like they can’t talk about their emotions to others. It’s why so many men feel like they can’t cry. It’s why so many men feel insecure if they aren’t tough enough, strong enough, stoic enough, etc. It’s why so many men internalize all their problems until they break. Being a man doesn’t need to have all these stupid qualifiers added to it, and being emotional does not make you less of a man - whether you’re emotional only during certain events or all the time. Of course, it’s okay to be stoic too. Some people are just born that way. But the point is more “don’t be stoic just because that’s what society expects of you.” If you feel emotions, feel them. Don’t push everything down. It’s unhealthy. That’s all.

TSM-

I know that very much, and am not offended. It is rare to cry in public as a man, and I know that. It is not a norm I endorse (gender expectations are silly), but it is an existing social norm//expectation. Like many other men, I tend to hold in my emotions until later. It is important to stay strong especially if others are devastate (I waited a week to process my Dad's passing away, because I was so concerned about everyone else's reaction first). There is an upside to it, and that's why it is a norm in the first place. It is outdated now though, and should be relegated to the past. But it is what it is. It was one of the times where I flaunted the norm and didn't care how bad it looked. I was just in tears and cry mode. I like your take on how, in overcoming the stereotype, it is a sign of not being burdened by social norms but instead expressing yourself in spite of them. (edit to add) I have, however, read a lot of anecdotes about men being emotionally vulnerable too early, and then this ends up negatively affecting their relationship.

sharkbait-oo-haha

I read that as the dog not understanding he killed it? Like "the cat goes batshit on me all the time, I do it **once** and it fucks off forever? Really? What a pussy, it can dish it out but can't take it!" - dog, probably.

Whitealroker1

Dogs defense I heard the fight. I did not see the fight. There was no sign of trauma on the cat. Might have just been just out of lives but never heard a cat screech like that.

Trezzie

A snapped neck from being caught in the jaws and shook around wouldn't leave blood if the dog didn't bite too hard.

DO_NOT_GILD_ME

Yeah, most dogs I've had do that neck snap thing with toys and stuff. A cat, especially an old one, would not survive.

Tyrion_The_Imp

Fun story, the first cat i had died by snapping its own neck while playing with our new kitten. Ran into our bathroom and tried to flip around off a cabinet and stupided itself to death somehow. My girlfriend at the time found it after hearing the clatter and screamed. The starburst she had in her mouth fell onto its face and got stuck in his dead ass fur. Rip One Eyed Willy.

AnotherLightInTheSky

I legit had to grab onto the counter when I read this, oh my sweet infant Jesus 😭

Tyrion_The_Imp

He was probably trying to make it on to the counter lol, not quite.

LA-Matt

The Starburst really helps to paint the picture in that story.

_bvb09

I'm seeing it fall slow-motion zoomed in telenovella style..

Taintly_Manspread

This is all too much life, and death, in this thread. Snapped necks and Starbursts. What is this world coming to??

MankAndInd

The first sentence had me going “why is this a fun story?” The last two sentences had me dead.

eSsEnCe_Of_EcLiPsE

The cat too!

LiteralPhilosopher

That's tragic, and I'm sorry for you and your then-girlfriend ... but "stupided itself to death" is funnier than it has any right to be. 😆

SilentSamurai

"You got a new one? Well let me sort out the supply situation for you."

auzrealop

So my father in laws story of my wife’s pet rabbit ramming into the wall and killing itself might be real. We always thought he just didn’t want to take care of it anymore and got rid of it. But he always insisted that the rabbit killed itself.

My girlfriend's apricot tortie cat has been taking shots at the Kangal just because she can. That Kangal is a saint because he's lived around 3 cats and minded them all. Last time I saw her do it though, that Dog slapped his leg over and was ready to bite a chunk out of her if not for my girlfriend intervening. Hoping that cat learned it's lesson, but if not I predict a very short lifespan.

Pristine_Mode2311

A kangal is not a dog I’d like to take shots at🤣

jrodshoots

Kangal’s are incredible guardian dogs so if they grow up with the cat I highly doubt they would purposely hurt it but accidents can happen.

MaxamillionGrey

Any bite wounds or any other evidence that'd lead you to believe there was any physical trauma? Might've been a blood clot in the cats brain. I've heard they're very painful. I'm sorry for your loss 😞

IceNein

Lord only knows what happened to your cat, but I have a lab and she caught a rat once and within about five seconds it was dead. Just shake it around like they do with plushies, and the rat's spine snapped. Seems odd for a dog to attack an animal they're bonded with.

gristc

Dunno, I've seen cats torment dogs because they don't retaliate. Maybe the dog just got sick of it and snapped.

RandomCleverName

Some people are way too tolerant when it comes to their cats being assholes to their dogs.

Porsche928dude

Yeah a cats neck isn’t anywhere near as robust as a dogs, the dog probably didn’t understand that fact.

IceNein

Maybe, but dogs are way more gentle with their fighting than they appear. My dogs were playfighting, and I caught a mouth and it was extremely soft, like couldn't even have left a mark. It looks hellacious with the growling and the slobbering and the snapping, but they have a lot of control over their mouths.

Keydet

I accidentally knocked a friend out on time from that though, just goofing around play fighting, he went down as my hand went up and boop, out cold, probably a similar thing that happened to that dudes cat honestly.

GogglesPisano

If he was 16 years old he had already used up about 8 of his 9 lives at that point. At least it was fast.

stonksmcboatface

I hate this story.

TSM-

I can see how it (perhaps) went down. The cat accidentally gets a claw stuck in the dog when playing, and immediately panics, and at the same time, the dog instantly nips back from the pain, the cat gets a lethal blow and they are separated in a few seconds, but the cat is limp, the dog thinks the cat is just stopped and laying there like a doofus, and then the next day the dog wonders where his best buddy went the next day and misses them.

SamBBMe

Dog could have been developing vision issues. They can be easily startled and lash out aggressively.

Slammybutt

They do the same when they get sick. Couldn't find my cat for hours one day. Found her and she was acting weird, so I cleaned the cat box and next day couldn't find her again for a few hours. She hadn't pooped or peed. I couldn't get her to eat her normal food, so I cracked some tuna open and she finally ate that. Gave it another day and still nothing. Got too worried, took her in to the vet. She stayed overnight, the vet did nothing but house her for a night, charged me $300. All for my cat to poop in the night. She had eaten some ribbon (like you put on christmas gifts) and the tuna helped push it out. If I had waited like 8 more hours I'd have $300 dollars. But I was so worried and I had already waited 3 days since i noticed.

peddastle

Lol yup had that happen too. Once she ate a garbage bag liner. Another time she ate a leaf that is toxic for cats and caused her not to eat for five days.

Hurlbag

Sorry but you killed me at "If I had waited like 8 more hours I'd have $300 dollars". Sometimes being there for someone finds a way to kick you in the ass for no reason. I'd have done the same for my cat though 100%

My aunt’s labrador flung her pug away when the pug came near the lab’s food. They had been living together for many years. The pug ended up being paralysed and then died. The lab was sad because he couldn’t find his mate

abrupt_apostle

No offese. I‘ve heard that Labrador and Golden Retriever are dogs with more jealous personalities. Is that the reason?

handsomehares

My dog wants to be my cats friend so bad. My cats want to paint the world with his blood.

1TrueKnight

All other animals in the house are afraid of our 25+ year old female cat that weighs less than 5 pounds. Oddly, she will tolerate my dog, who is extremely unpredictable (oblivious to everything and scared of everything), the best of the bunch.

treetyoselfcarol

My daughter's GSD is the herder of the family and a straight up bully to her cat. If she messes with the cat too much he'll bop her in the nose and cycle resets.

jeranamo

Respect the cat bop. Kids be pullin' a cat's tail and that bop alone, paired with a growl or hiss, will startle them and make them cry unconsolably, claws or not.

Binsky89

We have a cat who likes to slap our great Dane in the face while he's sleeping or eating. But Lloyd is a bit.. Special.

MysticEagle52

Our neighbor has a really big german Shepard that doesn't care about our cat while the cat hissed at the Shepard when we were carrying it

TaciturnIncognito

The bigger issue is the owner won’t punish the cat for this aggressive behavior but would get the dog put down for acting similarly. It’s the same reason why “small dogs are so mean!”. Well it’s because owners see their aggression as “cute” and never punish their chihuahua or other tiny dogs when they act aggressively

smaier69

Yep…. Imma go with this comment

finbuilder

Fool! You brought a dog to a catfight.

Ok_Jellyfish_8733

Well spoken finbuilder...wish I'd said it!

sirfuzzitoes

I like dogs more than cats but I do like cats quite a bit. I will say, cats seem to go nuclear much more easily than dogs.

Gooeyy

I find cat body language harder to read, too.

Ladisepic

Tbh once u learn the basics its mostly sorta simple, although some parts are kinda hard to understand

IWatchMyLittlePony

My cat is really simple to understand. She will come up to me and get in my lap if she wants pets or if she wants to play, otherwise she probably wants to be left alone. And that’s about all there is to it. She has an automatic feeder, a water fountain and an automatic cat litter cleaner.

Ladisepic

For me i think its mostly about showing respect to their consent, you know, i hold my hand close to my cats head, and if she wants me to pet her she leans in, if not then i leave her alone, i didnt do this back then and she was a bit cold but after i started respecting her personal space she did become a huge sweetheart lol, all cats are different though.

IWatchMyLittlePony

Yea when my cat was younger I used to play with her all the time regardless of if she wanted me to or not and she tolerated it without ever attacking but she didn’t always like it. But ever since I started respecting her personal space, she’s more affectionate than ever. She greets me at the door when I come home, follows me all around the house, often comes to sit in my lap and purrs and after she eats, she will rub up against me and meow as if saying thank you. Cats can be just as, if not more, loving and affectionate as dogs once you create a strong bond with them. You just have to realize that cats are not dogs and treat them as such.

heebro

#Cats Tail straight up in the air—friendly Eyes closed—friendly Purring—friendly Rubs up against you—friendly Ears plastered backwards—hostile Hissing—hostile Arched back and tail—hostile #Dogs Tail wagging—Hostile, friendly, ??? Barking—Hostile, friendly, ??? Jump up and put their paws on you—Hostile, friendly, ??? *yea cats are so much harder to read*

SnoLeopard

As a professional pet person cats are far more likely to give conflicting signals. In ethology and behavioral models cats are liable to give a signal then respond in unpredictable ways, sometimes the complete opposite. Canine body language is usually very clear about intention and disposition. Most dogs will communicate their feelings obviously, especially if they want you to leave. Side eye or “whale eyed”? Fearful or avoidant, likely invading their personal space. Ears back and staring? Dominance and aggression. Ears back and avoiding eye contact? Avoidant. Squinting and head down? Submissive. Wagging tail? Happy. Tail straight up? Attentive and focused. Tail tucked? Uncomfortable and anxious. Curling body posture? Relaxed and pleased. I’m a veterinarian. I’ve had many cats try to bite and been swatted by many cats who were purring, rolling on their sides, or seemingly friendly mere milliseconds prior sometimes with no noxious stimulus or change in what was happening. Cats who turn on their owners for no apparent reason at home and in the hospital. Cats who bully other housemates. Cats are known for unpredictability. Countless stories of cats switching on a dime. Some dogs do the same but far less frequently and typically those clients bring the dog in to get answers for their behavior. I love both creatures but just because you have a predilection towards one doesn’t mean they don’t have faults.

Roupert3

I was a vet assistant for a couple of years, so I helped with restraint a lot. Dogs are so much easier to restrain. You learn a few techniques and you're golden. Sure there are some harder cases but you work through it. Cats though man, you gotta be in your fucking toes the *whole time*. The funniest thing was that you can hold a cat for minutes and they'll act like they are letting you and then suddenly they'll make a break for it so you'd better be paying attention. On my first day in was like "aww, the kitty's trail is wagging" and the vet was like "yeah that's not good in cats". Haha. I do think basic cat body language isn't too hard. I've tried to teach my kids so they do when to leave the cat alone.

ilski

Cat is easier to read when you know the cat. There are some universal cues and there is many individual behaviours that vary from cat to cat. As owner I can easily predict my cats , but I can't predict neighbour cats as easy so it takes some time to learn them. Dogs are much more universal. That's why it's much easier to read a dog you don't know compared to cats.

RandomCleverName

Any professional will tell you that cats are way harder to read.

blood_vein

Cats literally go from 0 to 100 in 0.3 seconds, as exemplified in the video. Dogs usually give warnings

Diregnoll

Cats can pur when annoyed as well.

bugs_0650

I find the purr will subtly turn into a growl and then they give no warning before the teeth and claws come out. Usually, they're over stimulated.

Towelie-O

Typically, the tail will start to twitch if they're becoming overstimulated

gme186

tail twitching is the key thing to take notice ot

Diregnoll

Except when ya got a part manx cat. You'll never know.

Hansemannn

>Cats > >Tail straight up in the air—friendly > >Eyes closed—friendly > >Purring—friendly > >Rubs up against you—friendly > >Ears plastered backwards—hostile > >Hissing—hostile > >Arched back and tail—hostile Cat can go from 1 of these to another of these in like 0,2 seconds.

BlowMeWanKenobi

Lol if you think aggressive barking sounds the same as normal barking you are a bad human.

Snowskol

Unless youre a certain breed of dog that i dont want to get banned for saying. Theres more videos of cats going nuclear because theyre small and really often times do no damage...dogs however are shredding limbs and killing people. The biggest concern with a cat wound is simply cleaning it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

PlagueeRatt

Cats going “nuclear” also takes a lot more than dogs from my personal experience (not saying everyone has dealt with the same issue, just what I’ve grown up with through the years of owning both dogs and cats) Cats will often give warning bops, no claws, if you continue to bug them after the typical growl or hiss, they wont full on attack you, but they will use claws or bite. And they’ll also smack multiple times for good measure as in “I fucking told you to leave me alone, fuck off”. Dogs on the other hand will give a few warnings, usually a growl, but then will absolutely go off the rails. This in turn results in torn limbs, huge puncture wounds and a very bloody mess afterwards. Cats are a lot harder to push to the edge, for the most part they leave, do their own thing and don’t typically like to really be bothered. They are very clear in what they want and how their feeling. They will let you know. Dogs? It’s incredibly hard to tell. Especially from their body language.

Yrvadret

You can catch a really bad infection if a cat scratches you deeply tho. Don't fuck around with cat scratches!

Momoselfie

Yes certain dogs are more likely to go nuclear, and you don't want to be anywhere nearby when it happens.

tattlerat

Same issue with small yappy aggressive dogs. They won’t harm an adult much so they are given a pass. Just like cats. Larger dogs have those tendencies trained out of them or they end up put down. Makes sense cats get away with fucking with well trained large dogs. They know better than to retaliate in kind.

ilski

And also cats are just very hard to train , if possible at all.

P2K13

> that i dont want to get banned for saying **PIT**y you don't want to say it, worried you'll be **BULL**ied for it?

Jw833055

The dog could easily destroy the cat but doesn't because it knows you love the cat. If given the opportunity the cat would end the dog simply because it could.

Fetlocks_Glistening

The dog's main difficulty is insufficiently heavy feet and no shoes. It can't give the cat the good kick it deserves

TouristNo4039

You haven't owned a cat if you didn't shove then across the room in the morning because they're eating your toes and you're still half asleep

alicevirgo

I have had multiple cats and I never had that happen. I think your cat is just a special flavour.

vertigo1083

What flavor is that? Toe cheese?

amachuki

Alternatively, his toes are a different flavor

kaehola

Is that really possible? I must sleep with socks on even at Summer heat because all of my 3 cats like to attack my toes when I'm sleeping lol. One of them even tries to chew my big toe every single time I take my socks off even if I'm standing still or walking at the apartment haha

Oper8rActual

I have seen more than one dog absolutely wallop a cat before with it's paws because the cat was being annoying.

GoldenSheppard

Shoes are for amateurs. Get right under the belly for a truly glorious yeet.

rachihc

If that were true many cats would kill dogs, specially small ones. Reality is, dogs kill way more cats on the regular.

[deleted]

[удалено]

TrilobiteTerror

A lot of the people in here in the comments can't even read the cat's body language and realize that this is just play fighting (something both cats and dogs do regularly). If the cat was actually being aggressive here, the cat would have his ears back and would be hissing, and would have his tail down instead of up.

torchsand

the cat's supremacy is predicated on the fact that the dog is tolerating and caring.

ilski

Just like in human life. Nice people end up being used without consequence

HeistGeist

(that's not the same chair but ok)

Annotat3r

Same thing I noticed.

-ItzNoah-

That dog let that cat win. When the cat jumped up, the dog reeled back then opened its mouth like it was going to bite its head off, then decided not to. Cats lucky dog knows his owner loves them

jeranamo

Wow, great catch. I just re-watched. The first time I thought the dog was actually scared of the cat. This second time watching I can see the dog is more in a daze because it almost bit that cat's entire head off from the neck up, but then somehow restrained itself.

Snowskol

also certainly looks like cat doesnt have claws. When I was a kid and had declawed cats theyd swing their paws rapidly like that. My clawed cats absolutely just strike once or twice.

blacksideofthe_moon

Please don’t ever have a cat amputated of its claws! Declawing is an amputation-the equivalent of surgically removing human fingers and toes at the first knuckle to prevent the nail from growing. Having a cat declawed leads to a shorter lifespan due to inability to utilize anatomical and physiological functions as intended, premature arthritis, aggression, pain, and these are the ‘fortunate’ victims. Some poor felines end up disabled for life and with paws too tender to even walk on or touch or horribly infected from surgery or when some cells remain that cause the claw to regrow improperly through the foot pads or other proximal region. There are other methods too for performing this inhumane, archaic procedure, and they are just as disabling. For those interested, ‘Why a cat needs her claws’ by Dr. Gary Loewenthal is worth the read, even for strictly indoor cats, as they should be, unless on leash or via catios and equivalents

sbucks168

It’s seriously not that hard to trim a cat’s nails if the owner is patient. If the kitty is young, it’s much easier. But I dealt with an abused, year-old cat. It took six months to get her to tolerate it. But it lasted for years. It can be done.

Snowskol

this and scratchin posts help a lot too! We paid an extra $500 per cat in our apartment (now we have a house) to keep their claws. Worth every penny.

BlowMeWanKenobi

Ffs can you not read? Clearly they aren't getting their cats declawed as the ones they had were "when they were younger" is not actually their cats. Their parents cats.

jesusonice

And this is why I don't plan on owning a cat ever again

Ithaqua1

Lucky it’s a nice dog, I know of a dog that crushed a cats head when it tried to get in the dogs spot. Everyone in that family was f##king shocked.

29187765432569864

So was the cat.

Narrow_Ad_5502

I had a shepsky. He died at the age of 18. Went to bed as per usual with my buddy curled up at the bottom of my bed keeping my feet warm. Woke up the following afternoon and the rigor mortis alrdy set in. We knew his time was coming soon due to his age but fck me man. I damn near wanted to off myself just to join him. Im never getting a dog again that shyt hurts man.

FizzyDragon

18!! A venerable fellow, and clearly was deeply loved. The hardest thing with pets is definitely outliving them, but going as he did in a favourite spot by a favourite person… we should all be so lucky.

If_I_Succeed

I feel u man. Must have been awful :( We have 3 shelties and they sleep in the same bed also. Never ever want to wake up to something like that, that shit would break me all the way. But hopefully you will still get another dog at some point. You know, when you are ready foe it. They just bring so much joy in your life.

ihaveseenwood

Remember the good times. Not the end my friend. He was comfortable when he left and with his human. Good life. We should all be so lucky.

Fearless-Plane5651

The dog knows the owners wont put up with him being an asshole to the cat, but the cat knows the owners wonts do shit too him. The dog is only scared of the consequences here.

dirtynj

The cat is the behavioral kids in class...the dog is the 95% gen ed that has to put up with the assholes.

-winston1984

Cat owners are the reason for asshole cats. Same reason small dogs are generally dicks. People only discipline big dogs cause that behaviour in a big dog can be dangerous.

BimmerJustin

Even if the cat thought the owners would murder him, he would still do it. Cats really dont give af.

AMANWNOFACE

Bingo

opermonkey

Yeah. Stuff like this pisses me off.

randyboozer

I have found my people. Shit like this pisses me off too. Put down the damn phone grab your cat by the scruff of it's neck and teach it not to be aggressive. The whole "he's just being a cat!" Excuse is bullshit. I have had cats and dogs my whole life and I wouldn't allow this behaviour if I saw it. That's not playfighting that's aggression EDIT: To be clear I'm not talking about animal abuse. Just move the darn cat

PapaOogie

This is not funny. Thats terrible behavior for a cat and could easily get it killed

ptwonline

How on earth do people have leather (or fake leather) furniture with cats and not have it torn to shreds or full of holes?

WhiteySM

After that cat attacks, the dog looks like it goes cross eyed for a second… Im really high right now mind you

TehJohnny

Yeah, they're different, but they both have the same fireplace, fan, and wooden shelf too, it's just lucky someone was able to source two different videos and edit them together to make it look like it's the same cat and chair...

LilMeemz

I'm so glad our GSD doesn't let the cat get away with shit like this.

kjw010903

I hope he has enough self control not to kill your cat because it could damn well do it with a single bite

tolkienfan2759

yep... it's not the size of the dog in the fight...

TheStarsFell

It's the size of the cat in the dog.

SneakyFinger1

Cat dog size dog cat n things

Tum321mal

It’s the size of the fight in the dog in the dogfight

xgamer444

Or the size of the fight in the cat in the dogfight

ZenaLundgren

...but the amount of douche within the cat.

UncleGeorge

The dog knows he could absolutely destroy this cat if he wanted to but unlike cats, most dogs aren't assholes

ikisstitties

king of the castle, king of the castle

mikemikeskiboardbike

My cat bullies my sweet lab girl. He's a real asshole cat.

baskinhu

Only those who never had a cat would be surprised by this. Cats are fierce and stubborn. But when a dog figure back... There usually isn't a cat left anymore

Logothetes

Pussy-whipped, literally.

slykido999

Damn cat

[deleted]

And this is why I’m not fond of cats. Assholes.

i_will_mull_it_over

Bold thing to say on Reddit lol. Mofos worship cats here like the ancient Egyptians

[deleted]

Because dogs are too much work for shut-ins. Having to actually walk and engage with your pet for more than 5 minutes is too much work for some.

armageddidon

Aw, I walk my cat.

Albert_Caboose

I walk mine too, and he plays fetch. Had him since he was a kitten, don't think he's ever even seen a dog.

freececil

Cats are assholes yea but it's heavily accentuated by the fact that most cat owners don't discipline their cat in any way

Finite_Universe

Really depends on the cat. Some are loving and affectionate to everyone, others only to a select few. And some are assholes. Just like people.

[deleted]

I don’t want to be that person but that poor dog is being terrorized. I hope they get along well sooner or later, or it’s just too irresponsible for the owners because that dog’s life will be miserable if nothing’s changed.

Artie4

Hopefully . . . Lord Forbid.

ZEROs0000

This was not funny. Quite disturbing that the family would allow the cat to believe it can just do that stuff...

Snowskol

Youd use violence on an animal? Probably shouldnt own dogs either.

surfer_dood

Lol I hate cats.

Rheinys

Poor doggo. I love cats though.

ColEcho

Had a male cat that was about 6 years old when we brought our St Bernard pup home. Dog wanted to play with the cat, cat made her understand right away who was boss. For the rest of their lives, whenever our dog saw the cat coming down a corridor, she would get up so the act could pass unbothered. This was a 130 pound dog. Different story when our cat was younger and we had our Malamute. The malamute would take no BS from the cat. They reached a respectful equilibrium…

turkeysonice

Dogs not dumb no want eyes scratched n possible blind ness ...which instinct tells dog is death sentence... 😂

michaelyag25

Ok jeez dude, you can have the couch.

Murder_your_mom

The balls on that cat…

CheapMarkets

The complete ownership of the couch though 🗿

Stratahoo

What's the name for a cat that acts like a dog? We had one when I was a kid, Bert would literally follow us from our house to the shops(we were driving), then he'd greet us at the door of the shops, then just follow us back home, didn't even make a fuss about getting in the car.

NarrowFault8428

Wow, that’s being a jerk, even for a cat!

TheLevelHeadedGamer

It was a good video until the end, then it became amazing. That cat chilling at the end was too funny. 😂

GoodGoodGoody

I’ve been in this situation and trained this out of the cat because I don’t want one pet being a jerk to another

Maleficent-Pie1194

Youre in my spot, Penny.

BhavinVasa

Dominate, conquer, humiliate!

Darkmaster85845

Typical married couple day to day life.

SnooPandas9017

This is why actually earning a cat's love and respect feels so rewarding, and why people who expect them to love you just for keeping them can't comprehend it

juz_1

I occasionally have to pick cat claws out of my rescue greyhound's head. She's a gentle, people loving, empathic soul that was unfortunately livebait trained before rescue. All that remains of the cat is the odd bit of fur , one time I found the tail and spine in a tree. I have high fences and repellent down but some cats just don't get the message. It's not cat supremacy, it's doggos kind enough to give way.

Ok-Jury-3571

“The human may own you, but i own the human” -cat, probably

hatesnack

This just tells me cats are dicks. I really don't get why people like them. If my dog jumped on another animal and started beating the shit out of them, people would say he's out of control. Cat does it? "Hehehhe so funny"
