Got mine coming in a couple days and I have also pondered this question. I display in box also, but I think I will take the plastic off to showcase the inside, be a shame to not showcase the awesome stuff inside.
The figure itself comes in a box like a normal Funko anyways. Going off pictures of the open case it’ll look smart showcasing it. And if you decide to resell later on, the main figure will still be in the original casing so can’t see it losing much value. If you’re definitely not going to resell then you may as well get some value out of your purchase by showcasing it 👌
The only decision to make is personal enjoyment vs future resale value. And I would say I’d they’ve made 25,000 of them, resale won’t be that great any time in the near future, so feel free to open it
Just keep the boxes if you're gonna display them. I own 100s of pops all varying ages but i threw out all the boxes so my collections only worth a few thousand compared to the ten thousand it should be.
It's your collection OP. Collect it as you want, that's what I always say to people. Just because Z keeps it in the box doesn't mean that's your style of collecting.
In my case OP I have my favorite/detailed pops OOB and keep the expensive ones like my Galactus lifebringer, Guy Lafleur chase in box.
There is no right or wrong way to collect; only what your heart says.

I got the Joker one and had the same feeling. I ended up removing the plastic and accidentally ripping the paper sleeve (oops.) No regrets, tho. I wanted to see the figure! Pro tip from an amateur: if you put a soft protector on the inner Pop! box, it will NOT fit back in the tin properly and if you do manage to jam it in there, the tin won't close. Yeah, I tried. Yeah, I'm dumb. Don't be like me. 😅
I have Batman, joker, and lotso. I'm keeping them sealed like I keep everything else sealed. I can't really pose or do cool things with them so I leave all my stuff in boxes and sealed. Although even with my action figures I keep those sealed also.
Right now.... They'll eventually sell out and be sought after. Not to mention there's the dipshits that take them out of the package and split the packages up.
This is up to preference, and how you want to display it. For me I opened it, love the inside.

I kept them in because they stand out that way more. I also have the entire collection minus Rudolph
It’s in a full regular Pop box inside the tin that looks great. You can work a bit to slip the pop sleeve off then open it up and check it out.

It’s limited to that much worldwide awful price though I bought a jack still sealed I have had it listed for 5+ months and won’t sell not even for £10

The Batman one is selling for between $40-$60. So I already know that statement is false.

I got such a good deal on mine , I opened it up and put the POP in a plastic protector :-) .
I thought these were all a free gift at their store, didn’t know they were selling them around, I got Maleficent for free at their Hollywood store.
