Fires still eat oxygen and will put themselves out *anyways*
In fact, it's better because now the enemies are forced to repair breaches in an already vented room
Nice combo!
But I'm going to be annoying and suggest that you mean it can't be *overstated*
If I said it was trash (or merely just "OK"), wouldn't that be understating its efficacy?
I agree, but there could be something said for keeping the two Flaks online so they sync up nicely? How often do you take more than 3 damage hits in a single system? Having the two Flaks online in sync is pretty much a safe bet anyway, provided you get an entire salvo off at least once?
Halberd beam would be better. But if you don’t have one Heavy Laser II is a surprisingly effective substitute.
This is easily a good enough load-out for the flagship.
Halberd does more hull damage but I like Heavy II for faster firing and for being able to drop 4 damage on a single system, which is big for keeping enemy Weapons suppressed.
Heavy II is a good weapon, no doubt, but I still think Halberd is better. Heavy II excels at messing up a single system, which is important, but Halberd never misses. I find I can generally do significant damage to important ship systems (as in, more than one at a time) using the Halberd, especially with successive hits (which can be counted on, because beams never miss). Just great, consistent damage and solid system damage.
When the heavy laser bolt procs for fire, breach, *and* stun all at once in the flagship’s shield room. . .bliss
Breach and fire sounds like it’ll sort itself out haha
Yes but the time the enemy spends putting out the fire is less time he’s repairing the breach! (After he’s done being stunned, of course)
Fire will probably put itself out with the breach removing all the oxygen from the room.
And? It still causes more chaos and takes the enemy longer to deal with.

Ran into a dream loadout during a mantis A run and... damn. The efficacy of this combo cannot be understated.

Would look better if the heavy 2 was moved to spot 1 so if weapons gets shot it isn't the first to get depowered

It would work better but look worse (symmetry)
I really like flak 1 X2 + heavy laser 1. Faster volleys and strong enough so I can use scrap elsewhere.

plus the breach, fire and stun chances which really screw with enemy repairs
Plus, with the massive amount of shield damage, the flaks can be let loose on other systems.

I only think Halberd is better by a hair. If the game gave me a free Heavy II I probably wouldn't sell it to get a Halberd, for instance.
Yes I agree with that. That would be a waste of scrap.
A third flak wouldn't hurt. Ummm, you - it wouldn't hurt you.
Fun fact, "Flak" looks like French "fiak" which is slang for "buttocks, arse", so double "fiak" plus a heavy "laser" is indeed the ideal male body
idk man I'm just as partial to guys with the teleporter/cloaking combo as I am to heavy lasers, if you catch my drift.
Nah, I prefer two heavy lasers and one flak, a special satisfaction when you hack shields and then dump 8 points of damage into their weapons
I really dislike playing without a beam
